Lexi - we had to £8!!! but got about 4 or 5 photos for that (not sure how many there was supposed to be) including a close up of the baby sucking it's thumb - so cute! they were all different.

muddybloodypuddles · 13/02/2013 12:17

'pay'

LexiLoganberryBump · 13/02/2013 12:24

muddy I'd be happy to pay £8 for 4 or 5 pics, that sounds great, when I first saw the £8 I thought you were going to say each.

Also it is odd about different instuctions for people but your most likely right that it's the equipment used, wish I had your machine.

RuckAndRoll · 13/02/2013 12:33

Lexi our hospital had big signs up saying you must ask for pictures if you want them and a charge would be made. I asked for photos, the sonographer laughed and said I've yet to meet a parent who doesn't want pictures and they only charge if you want a silly number of them.

Word of warning though, if you can, scan them into the computer or make copies ASAP as the images are not designed to last long term

Work meeting didn't go well, they don't want me back yet as I still have phases of going dizzy/blacking out. Problem is the dr says I'm fit to work as long as I'm desk based (which I am 95% of the time anyway). Waiting to see if they'll let me work from home if they don't want me in the office.

abi hope your DD is feeling better soon.

stacey take care of yourself, dvd box sets are great when day time tv gets too much! Along with the brilliant inventions of iplayer, 4od etc.

FoofFighter · 13/02/2013 13:34

My scan pics are still going strong after 22 years :) just sitting in the photo album :) Don't ever laminate them though, the heat will destroy them I hear!!

Hope all is well at your scan Lexi :) at ours they printed 4 off and only ask for a donation, so shoved what spare change me and the MIL had in our purses.

foof - for a moment I thought you had a 22 year old! Then brain clicked in that you must be 22 and the scan pics are of you...Blush - mind you my sister was 22 when our youngest sister was born (I was 20) so its not entirely barmy...Wink

stacey212528 · 13/02/2013 15:28

I got 3 scan pics but they were free. They used to ask for a donation but apparently changed policy. But under NO circumstance will they ever tell you the sex! Boo!
RuckandRoll Gave up on Jezza and got out the Greys Anatomy boxset. Hello McDreamy!

Abilee90 · 13/02/2013 15:45

Dd went back to docs for the doc to use the medical term, its kicking her bum. Her immune system is low because she is cutting back teeth and it causes a low immune system. I never knew that so, i learned something today. He said i was doing all the right things and to carry on.

Bean hasnt sat still since i sat down but its nice to know he or she is ok.

Lexi my hosp charge 5 pound for 2 pics.

Stacey huge hug for u. I know how u felt i was 26 weeks when i had it tho. If your lucky, baby will immunity to it but its rare.

Thanks for all dd well wishes. Hope everyone is ok :)

FoofFighter · 13/02/2013 16:33

Muddy, I have a 21yo and an 18yo Grin and I'm a granny!! oh to be 22...

Stacey ours won't reveal either. No idea why as I understand the reasons for it in some inner city areas but we are semi rural and there are only 5 delivery beds so obviously not rushed off their feet, maybe they are just shite at it and got sued a lot...!

I went and got the Bounty mum to be pack today, I filled in a false name and address as they are well known for selling your details on as well as pushing loads of crap on you themselves, and have dubious in hospital practises at a time when you are at their most vulnerable - really recommend searching MN for threads about Bounty before you hand over your details or let them take their awful pictures.

Anyway, the haul (I have no qualms about taking the goodies btw!!) includes, the obligatory wee pot of sudocrem (which is all I wanted really for the changing bag, soooooo handy!), 2 samples of Fairy non bio tablets, one sample of persil non bio liquid, 2 samples of comfort pure, one sample of ovaltine, a persil branded baby bath towel, with the corner hat thing on?, and a FULL SIZED Simple moisturiser :)

Had my 12 week scan, teabag was very difficult and layed on his side for the whole thing, I was in with her for at least 20 minutes, she did the normal scan then sent me for a wee and a jump around to see if baby would move, had me doing a belly wobble (very unflatering I can tell you) to get baby moving, still wouldn't move, then did the internal scan and still wasn't co-operating. She got a measurement of the head and thats it, couldn't do length or the nt measurement, going in 2 weeks to have the quad blood test instead, was disappointed but at least teabag appears fine, I'm just happy there was a baby in there.

Scan photo also not to great as of back.

She's also put me forward a bit, I assume based on the head measurement. When I went in I was 12+3, came out 13+1, new edd 20th August.

Got 2 pics and they charge £3 a photo.

Abilee90 · 13/02/2013 17:39

Lexi glad everything was ok. My baby was a pain in the bum also lol had to have an internal in the end.

Stacey if you live in area that has alot ethnic minorities then they wont tell you as a lot abort if its a girl. My hosp do disclose but u have to beg :/ i'm having private scan on 23rd of feb to find our. But private scans are expensive.

Got 10 days til scan and cant wait to know :)

15+1 :)

FoofFighter · 13/02/2013 18:01

Abi, it can't be just that reason though, as I said our area is ruralish, far north of Scotland, very quite, 99.9% white/british and they don't tell.

Lexi, it's disappointing when they won't do as you want isn't it! Didn't think they could determine date from just head measurement, surprised me :)

Hi all, just checking in and catching up. Hugs to all those having a tough time at the moment, and pleased to hear so many bouncy bean scan stories!

Most exciting thing to report here (tmi alert!) is that the lactulose my dr prescribed is starting to work well on my chronic constipation! I never thought I'd be so happy to have a poo! Grin

Stopsitting I would definitely not recommend the iron on labels - I had some for Dss and they all came off in the wash after a few times. I just bought a permanent marker pen and write his name (or initials if that's all that fits) on the washing label. Much easier than sewing in the name tags (which he always used to complain we're itchy anyway!) Grin

16 + 1 - can't believe I'm 4 months already!

stacey212528 · 13/02/2013 18:04

I'm in a village/town with a population of about 1500 lol. The local hospital is in a "city" not much bigger. But hey it just means a private scan (: I'm too impatient not to know! Lol.
Lexi same thing for me, blood test next week cause Peanut didn't want to play!

Fever is starting to tail off and though I am still itching like hell I don't feel like I want to throw myself out the window anymore. Small things right? Hope everyone is good!

Xx

stacey212528 · 13/02/2013 18:06

Scotland here too Foof (: xx

FoofFighter · 13/02/2013 18:27

whereabouts are you Stacey? (pm if you don't want to put it in public :) ) you have piqued my interest cause I like in a "city" where everyone for miles around has to come to the hospital (DG) technically it's a city cause of the cathedral but it's very very small :)

Zippy congrats on your poo baby Grin

Clackmannanshire, the local city is Stirling and only because the Queen chose it over Inverness or somewhere I believe!

FoofFighter · 13/02/2013 19:05

I think of all the main towns and cities Stirling is the only one I've not been to as yet :) I'm in Morayshire :)

It's got a fairly decent shopping centre and of course all the historic stuff that I think we kinda overlook as locals. Woops. Aside from that your not missing much.

LexiLoganberryBump · 13/02/2013 19:26

foof I don't know whether they can either, but she asked what my dates were when I went in and when I was sat outside the room waiting for my notes my dates had been changed, the only measurement she did was the head measurement so I'm assuming it was that as couldn't see it being anything else, but like I say I don't know for sure.

zippyrainbowbrite · 13/02/2013 19:35

Thanks Foof! Grin

Abilee90 · 13/02/2013 20:19
