Thanks ladies. Currently cosied in with crap telly to distract me from the itching! He was brilliant, came up to the house within 15 minutes! Xx

RememberingMyPFEs · 12/02/2013 19:06

Jolly so sorry to hear you've had such a crappy lot of news. As a taxpayer you should be entitled to 39 weeks of maternity allowance (same as SMP I believe). I hope you get to spend some good times with your friend and that the end isn't too painful ThanksThanks
Stacey get well soon, I'm sure the bean will be fine. My mum had TB when she was PG with my eldest DSis an she picked up great immunity. Good you'll get all the medical support scans etc to put your mind at rest Thanks
Hope things start looking up for everyone, waves and mayan too!
Have a good evening everyone, I'm trying to decide between chips&dips or Dominos for dinner - I'm dead healthy me!!! I also have a bottle of alcohol free pear cider I'm drooling thinking about. 30 mins to go on the train... Sad

JollyRedGiant · 12/02/2013 19:08

Thank you lovely people. Don't know if I'll be entitled to anything regarding mat pay as I don't earn that much (second job). It's not the end of the world, just a but shit. I'll get a wee redundancy payment though. But as again not much as I don't earn that much.

Sounds grim, Stacey. Hope you feel better soon.

MrsPennyapple · 12/02/2013 19:10

Ooh, pear cider! I would actually kill for some of that right now.

Jollymummy2 · 12/02/2013 19:12

Big hugs for all of you that are suffering in one way or another. Thanks
I have been suffering with pelvic stretching pains, which I'm not happy about as suffered with SPD with last two pregnancies. Looks like its starting much earlier this time, so am worried it will be crutches at the least this time Hmm trying to rest as much as poss so I don't aggravate it, although midwife has warned if it continues I could be in bed rest by the last few months of pregnancy. With 3 DC to cope with that sounds a colourful prospect!!

FoofFighter · 12/02/2013 19:13

alco free pear cider???? where???!

Am I the only one who has just realised there are two Jolly's Blush

JollyRedGiant · 12/02/2013 19:17

Kopparberg do an alcohol free pear cider. I'm about to have one.

Lol, Foof, I noticed :D

RememberingMyPFEs · 12/02/2013 19:27

2 jollys - could get jolly confusing (sorry!!)

Yes, Koppaberg and Tescos have it on offer for £1 Grin

muddybloodypuddles · 12/02/2013 19:46

Remembering - lol!! - we shall have to distinguish them some how

Stacey - oh poor you! Can imagine what a worry it is but its good they're keeping a close eye on you and baby

foof - enjoy your cider ;)

stopsitting - you're going to look like a pancake soon! Wasn't thinking about slings until you posted this, now I think back I never really found the baby bjorn that comfortable so might look into a sling, although MrsPennyApple makes a good point about it being hot in August but I suppose it could just be for the first 2 or 3 weeks....

JollyRed sorry you're having a run of bad luck and sounds horrid about your friend Sad - I'll pass on the icecream though as it will no doubt give me heartburn as just about everything is at the moment...

Jollymummy - hope it doesn't get that bad, I vaguely remember my friend having it and she would sit there with an icepack between her legs - would that help with the pain??

Not fancying the idea of pear cider - bleugh. had our pancakes, 1 with nutella and one with raspberries and maple syrup - yum yum. Not feeling so sick tonight but did feel knackered around 5pm again.. thinking about moving house too (are we mad?!)

muddybloodypuddles · 12/02/2013 19:59

MrsPennyappl - yes have been feeling movements for a little while, just flutters at first but now getting stronger (esp when I've just eaten a load of chocolate), usually when I'm laying in bed though. I used the doppler last night to listen to the heartbeat and the baby obviously didn't like it as it kicked right at it! Made me jump and shed a tear at the same time. Didn't feel anything with DS though until about 21 weeks so I think it really depends what position they're in, mine seems to be right down into the left hand corner most of the time

RugBugs · 12/02/2013 20:01

Blush I got confused and made pancakes last week.

Sorry to hear you have chicken pox Stacey

Jolly I've been getting some ligament pain too, especially when I shift in bed at night or pick up DD. I was just starting to get beyond discomfort at 36 weeks with DD but then I was hospitalised with pre-eclampsia and labour a week later so it never got any worse thankfully.

FoofFighter · 12/02/2013 20:02

muddy that's the position mine is favouring although like last week when it decided to go walkabouts it's worrying me cause I can't find it again, it's hiding at the back somewhere, don't like it! at least last week it was the day i had my scan and it was upside down and back to front lol

not enojying this half pint of cider at all, smelt wonderful but tastes awful :( have had half the glass and about to throw the rest out and make a lovely cup of milky decaff coffee instead!

OP posts:
beckie90 · 12/02/2013 20:09

Sorry about your chickenpox stacey

Well babys been moving loads today getting really proper now obviously not full on moves but more than the little tapping/fluttering

Absolutely cannot stop eating cucumber Haha eaten a full huge 1 today, my new craving xx

MrsPennyapple · 12/02/2013 21:39

Lovely DP went to the shop for me to get some alcohol free pear cider! But they didn't have any :( so I am drinking lemonade. I may console myself with some ice cream shortly.

RuckAndRoll · 12/02/2013 21:45

wowa far too many posts since I last came on here, sounds like there's a lot of tough times going on. Go easy on yourselves.

Well I'm still signed off work for pain issues and the added joy that I keep passing out. Saw the consultant today and all they can tell me about the meds that would work for the pain is 'increased miscarriage risk, potentially small baby, and neonatal withdrawal, but other than that it's fine'.

She's going to do some more digging for me and see me again in 4 weeks. In the mean time, I should be going back to work Thursday but work are being a bit funny about it. So tomorrows job is to find out where I stand legally with this and work.

On the plus side, baby is apparently nice and happy. They can throw whatever they want at me as long as the baby is ok.

Stopsittingonyoursister · 12/02/2013 23:05

Pancake marathon complete! Not making another one until next Pancake Day at least!

Have been sewing name tags on to DDs's playgroup outfits today. She's gone up to size 3 -4 clothes so everything needs renaming - socks, pants, trousers, coat, etc. She only goes two mornings a week, but that's three of everything that needs naming - one per session plus the spares. When it comes round to summer again, and DS needs his new school uniform I am getting iron-on labels!

DH just offered to cook a Valentine's Day meal for me on Thursday evening. This is an historic event. He only cooks very rarely and is a "use every pan and work surface in the kitchen" type cook. However, I may ask him to get the alcohol free cider to go with it - I need something different to drink rather than water or juice at the moment.

muddy are you thinking of moving a long way? We put our last house on the market when I was 35 weeks pg with DD and ended up moving when she was 3.5 months old. Wasn't too bad, but then my parents live in the same village as we do, so just decamped there for 2 weeks before we moved so we could properly pack up and clean the house, and then sort and unpack in the new place before we moved in. The viewings were just a bit of a pain to deal with - DH went to work with a load of ironing in the back of his car more than once!

Ruck that doesn't sound good, I hope you get the meds sorted soon.

jollymummy hope the ligament pain is just everything stretching out. Why do healthcare professionals always prescribe things that are just impossible to comply with in reality?! My friend has three boys under 4, and has been told to try feeding the youngest in a nice quiet room so he isn't distracted by the older two. A quiet room with two kids under the age of 4? It just doesn't happen (unless they are doing something they shouldn't!)

stacey hope all is well. When DS had the pox we found putting the calamine cream in the fridge really helped with the itching. I hope all is well with your scans Thanks

Abilee90 · 13/02/2013 08:57

Stopsitting - your ironing story made me chuckle.

Stacey - how are you feeling?

My dd still isnt great, not interested in food or anything. Poor little mite.
I have woke up with a really sore and no voice blooming feel like the sick house atm. Gonna paint a cross on my front door. Slept for 10 hours last night as dd didnt even stir. Atleast she wasnt sick last night.

Xxx

LexiLoganberryBump · 13/02/2013 09:45

Abi hope you and your DD feel better soon.

It's my 12 week scan today. Dreamt for the last 2 nights that I forgot my notes and didn't drink any of the water required, I can't drink a glass of water without going to the loo soon after, goodness knows how I'll drink a litre and not pee. DH can't come so having to go on my own.

RugBugs · 13/02/2013 10:22

Good luck Lexi, I'm the same as you re peeing but even though I felt quite uncomfortable I didn't need to pee until after the appt time, and of course they were running 20mins late.

RuckAndRoll · 13/02/2013 10:34

Enjoy today Lexi. I diligently drank what they said for my scan, got there early so they saw me 30 mins early, the baby wouldn't get into the right position for her so she immediately sent me to pee before she could do anything, so it's not always the end of the world!

About to go into work to meet my boss and discuss coming back - fingers crossed he's good.

Abilee90 · 13/02/2013 10:40

Good luck ruck!

Really worried about dd so waiting for doc to ring me bk :( she only 13 months :( xx

stacey212528 · 13/02/2013 10:40

Bleurgh pretty much sums up how I'm feeling, doctor was up again and says that everything appears to be "progressing" as normal. So am on the couch watching daytime telly for the first time in ages. A revalation! Thanks everyone for the well wishes and tips. Xxx

beckie90 · 13/02/2013 10:56

Good luck lexi I'm like you so I drank less than 500ml 30min before because the previous time I drank about 700ml 1hr before and I was too full so had to empty my bladder.

Bless your poor DD abi hope she's better soon :( its awful. I remember when ds was 14months he had to be kept in hospital with gastro-interitus tonselitus and chest infection. It's the worst thing In the world when your lo is poorly. Sending you Thanks xxx

14+4 xx

LexiLoganberryBump · 13/02/2013 12:12

Thanks everyone. I really just want it to be time to go now, I'm so nervous about getting bad news and just want to get to the part where they'll hopefully say yes everythings fine and turn the screen to me so I can start to enjoy it.

How much did you have to pay for your scan photo's? when I had DD they were free but this hospital charges. If your paying can you ask for 2 or 3 photos with each one being different or do you end up with 3 photos all the same?

Thanks

muddybloodypuddles · 13/02/2013 12:15

Lexi - good luck for your scan! My scan letter didn't say anything about drinking fluids, seems most people's did and i had an empty (as empty as it can be when you're pg!) bladder and all was fine.. maybe it's a different type of sonography machine!??

Stacey - good to see you're able to get some rest - when DS had chickenpox I used 'poxcilin' on him which was really good to stop the itching (better than calamine), it was about £10 though

Abi - hope your DD is okay x

Ruck - good luck with the boss, its horrible having work issues on top of pg issues

stopsitting - not too far away but my mum lives about 45mins away anyway so just a bit too far. We mainly want to move soon as I will need to apply for DS's school this autumn so would rather move before he starts than have to move his school. Just not relishing sorting out all the stuff we've been hoarding over the years! But am currently in the process of putting a bundle of 17 pairs of shoes on ebay!!! I've got so many high healed fancy shoes that I just don't wear anymore (am a sahm and dont' currently have a job)

Am feeling a bit more energy today so I think it is slowly coming back, took dog for nice long walk and didn't have to have a lie down after - result! Grin
