4 hours! Wow! I had no idea they could feed that long - wonder what else I don't know Hmm eep!

She is a little star on the sleeping though - fantastic - hope she gives you lots more rest time!

Had anesthetist appointment - he said well, at least for the first 12 hours or so the painkillers will take care of the combo of stitches and body shaking sneezing/coughing! After that, good luck :D

She's SO heavy now, every step is accompanied by shooting pains - but soooooon!

Anybody else on here left other than pinkr and myself who's still hanging out?

HadALittleFaithBaby · 07/05/2013 19:10

That's like 20 mins one boob, then stop for 5 minutes, looks like she'll sleep then rooting again - 25 mins the other boob and so forth! If you're planning to breast feed, please please read this book, queenie lent it to me and its Blardy brilliant!

There is jeffers who is diffed too. She is not on the not list because it was very early days when this one was written!

pinkr · 07/05/2013 20:01

it'll just be me and jeff soon!
Counted seven Weeks till I finish up work...exciting and terrifying!

FriendofDorothy · 08/05/2013 22:38

I have had a fairly shitty day. Managed to crunch the car against a granite wall and now have a bad dose of granite rash down the side of it. Reckon it is over a grands worth of damage :(

HadALittleFaithBaby · 09/05/2013 07:06

Oh dor Confused, will the insurance cover it?

We had a good night. Not sure if its the introduction of a bottle or her just settling down but Faithlet took a bottle at 7, had a bit of boob to settle (still needs me!) and then slept from 9.30-1, fed for half an hour, same at 3, then woke at 6.30! This I can cope with! :)

fertilityFTW · 09/05/2013 11:10

Oh dear dor - hope you're alright and it comes in cheaper than you expect.

And good job faithlet!

I'm still totally bunged up - tried steaming and [TMI] threw up dramatically all over the kitchen floor Sad - on the plus side by the time I'd rushed to the loo and back my DM had cleaned it all up. So not used to having someone there!

Had to eat dinner with mouth open to breathe - classy! GP says nowt we can do - except maybe vacation in the Bahamas!

Tomorrow should be even more of an adventure that I anticipated - wish me luck!

MsJupiterJones · 09/05/2013 11:33

Sorry you're suffering FFTW, hope you start to feel better by the end of the day.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow and looking forward to news of newborn snuggles. Best of luck!

fertilityFTW · 09/05/2013 12:14

Thank you MsJones! I'll have to wait a few days to experience the new baby smell I guess, but a new baby is a new baby and I won't complain! Grin

HadALittleFaithBaby · 09/05/2013 12:50

And it really is the best smell in the world. It's non-bio and non-definable baby yumminess. Sometimes I just hold and sniff! :)

Are you all prepared in a practical sense ftw?

pinkr · 09/05/2013 18:09

Good luck ftw! How exciting that you'll be snuggling your little one so soon Grin

FriendofDorothy · 09/05/2013 18:26

Baby smell is just the best. Other than the stinky farts The Little Mister is doing at the moment. We are waiting for the poo cannon to go off soon as he hasn't pooed for about 37 hours.

Had a lovely day as it is Liberation Day here which is another bank holiday Smile

HadALittleFaithBaby · 09/05/2013 18:50

Faithlet has awful stinky farts. I guess it goes along with the intermittent poos. Poor MSB does the getting ready for bath change and that seems to be when she poos...tonight there was another poonami. All over her clothes, change mat, pink rabbit comforter! Grin

HadALittleFaithBaby · 09/05/2013 19:35

Ha thought I'd got away lightly but just had to deal with a huge one! :)

pinkr · 09/05/2013 22:40

Ooh my sil is in labour! three Weeks early! Shame we won't get to meet our wee nephew till the first week in July...i'm craving baby cuddles Grin

MsJupiterJones · 10/05/2013 20:07

Any news from FFTW?

HadALittleFaithBaby · 10/05/2013 20:16

Nope, waiting for news! Was she going in the morning? Ooh a new baybee in sniffing distance! :)

fertilityFTW · 12/05/2013 18:13

Hello PESHonistas! I am one of the few remaining earthlings without a smartphone - but got home today and am back in interweb space! and WOW! I LOVE this baybee. Doubtless the most beautiful baby in the known universe (as is each of yours no doubt ;) ).

Had a brilliant experience I must say, all hail the NHS. Great team in theatre, awesome midwives and great support on the ward. Got an amenity room for the second night - on high dependency ward the first night and out today! Started walking around the ward the morning after - hurt like hell but doable.

Did I mention I came away with the most beautiful babybee in the known universe? I just can't stop staring at her - or taking pictures of her and staring at them. And then staring at her some more. Aaaaargh.

FriendofDorothy · 12/05/2013 18:42

Oh how wonderful! It's just the most amazing feeling in the world isn't it?

How are you getting in with feeding?

pinkr · 12/05/2013 19:18

Congratulations Flowers

fertilityFTW · 12/05/2013 19:31

Feeding quite well I think! Began nuzzling almost immediately in recovery, within a half hour or so after birth - properly once in the ward. Forgot everything the next day and had a big gap where she just kept falling asleep and I couldn't get her to latch - then a MW came by and showed us how to keep her on task (blow gently on her head, tickle her chin etc.) and after that she's been great - feeding anywhere between 20 mins to well over an hour - sleeping between feeds for hours and hours. I haven't slept though at all - just on super high alert and can't stop watching her!

MsJupiterJones · 12/05/2013 20:10

How wonderful! Congratulations, sounds like it went brilliantly.

Day 2 they are usually more sleepy and slow to feed but I'm sure she will be making up for that in the next few weeks. CS babies are more likely to lose weight in the first few days so don't worry if that happens & let us know how you're getting on.

Enjoy the lovely snuggles and hope the cough's clearing up. Thanks

HadALittleFaithBaby · 12/05/2013 21:16

Congratulations Thanks Sounds like it all went smoothly! Good start to the feeding. Enjoy the yummy newborn cuddles. Have you named her yet?

JethroTull · 12/05/2013 21:39

Congrats FTW - sounds like you are both doing really well.

fertilityFTW · 13/05/2013 03:02

Yup - named and announced! It was a really last minute decision but it seems to have gone down well - I think everyone I know in RL knows what a big fan of MN I am so would totally out myself to share here! (But will happily share over PM if anybody wants to know!).

I er....woke up with the bed in a bit of a flood condition right now - I guess the milk came in...not sure how it didn't occur to me to be prepared [dense emoticon].

Cold symptoms almost immediately eased - still can't smell though :( but soon hopefully! I'm even looking forward to these stinky farts of legend!

FriendofDorothy · 13/05/2013 05:28

Oh I really want to know what you have named her. Please PM me!
