No offence taken Faith, by me or L.

I had a theory that boys were more likely for ESH as we are likely to know when we are ovulating and do the sechs on that day (well in fact all the days in a 3-mile vicinity) and so all the speedy male sperms get first dibs on the egg, whereas smug 'I can't be pregnant can I?' instadiffers only had sechs the once during their period and did the withdrawal method or some shit, so when they drop the egg there are still some naice gentle polite girl sperms wiggling around.

Obviously this theory is now BLOWN OUT THE WATER. Or your girls are going to turn out to be really strong swimmers. Grin

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 10/04/2013 11:06

Course our baybee was probably made from the sechs well before I ovulated. Actually it's all confusing cos according to my scan I conceived the day before I even saw ECWM! But yes, I do think that basic principle applies to the BESH.

MsJupiterJones · 10/04/2013 17:38

According to my scan we conceived on the one day that week we did not do the sechs, which just happened to be Valentines Day.

Love the nc pinkr!

FriendofDorothy · 10/04/2013 17:43

Well, I'm not pregnant.

Can't decide if I am disappointed or relieved!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 10/04/2013 18:04

Provably both dor?! It would be a very small age gap! My friend had just two years (and maybe a couple of weeks) between her two and she said while she wouldn't change them its very hard work!

I now have a tens machine, hired from the midwife that did our ante-natal classes. I do believe I'm ready to have this baybee :)

OP posts:
MsJupiterJones · 10/04/2013 18:17

Oh I am sorry Dor. Would have been v exciting although obviously v hard work - one of my birth quiche got pg again v quick and is suffering with morning sickness. Did you test or did the droid return?

Great that you have got a tens Faith, really useful for the early stage contractions. Have a practice beforehand with MSB if poss! (Before your perineal massage Grin)

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 10/04/2013 18:34

Yeah he said no chance to the massage! Might change his mind if I go massively overdue and become a nightmare to live with Grin

I spoke to a couple of people who said they weren't convinced the tens helped until one removed it and for the other the battery ran out then they knew it was helping! So definitely up for anything that might help labour pains!

OP posts:
FriendofDorothy · 10/04/2013 19:00

I tested.

No droid visitations yet.

Thank fuck goodness.

fertilityFTW · 11/04/2013 13:31

Smile at NC pinkr. Little girl expected here as well.

Been busy washing and ironing the cutest little loads of laundry. Makes my day to see all the little bits lined up neat, clean and ready for bubs. GB put up lovely Ikea chest of drawers that will serve as upstairs baybee stuff storage and changing station. Will put up cot and station in downstairs living room as well to save running around. I still have to give lovely eBay bargain co-sleeper a scrub and pack the hospital bags - have everything together now though, whew.

LO was extended breech at 32wk scan - though MW has said she was cephalic at every appt. Another MW appt. tomorrow, so let's see what she says this time - having a 36wk scan where they'll tell us what they're going to do with us I expect. Hope it's a normal delivery, really want to try the pool in the MLU - would rather go straight to CS if not as opposed to ECV and/or instrumental/intervention etc. Not that you have much choice at the end of the day - bubs gets to decide.

My mum arrives from overseas to baby me next week - can't miss the arrival of her PFB's PFB Grin - am super excited about having her here.

FriendofDorothy · 11/04/2013 14:32

Enjoy the ironing whilst you have time. In my works baby clothes get washed and folded. They only get puked or shat anyway!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 11/04/2013 14:42

How exciting fertility! Luffly to see you! :) ironing though?! Ironing baybee clothes?! Mine have been washed and dried...I had no intention of ironing?! Only things that get ironed in our house are my work uniforms (ha none of that for ages!) and his work stuff.

FWIW they thought Pickle was breech but she just has a bony bottom! Hope the scan goes ok and you get the birth you want.

I've been to see my MW. BP is down from last visit, still a bit up from what it has been. We discussed pre-eclampsia, she's not unduly worried but I know what to do if I'm worried over the weekend. I'm actually much better in myself but have the option of being referred for counselling if I want it (at the moment I don't but I'm glad to know the option is there). I'm booked in for Tuesday and she's going to take a swab because I have so much discharge and am very sore downstairs. Couldn't do it today cos I'd applied cream to try to ease it. I've also bathed with Badedas. I'm now sitting in Dunelm Mill coffee shop treating myself :)

OP posts:
fertilityFTW · 11/04/2013 15:17

Ah, just for the first batch - it's pretty pointless I know. Nothing gets ironed in our house either except for GB's work clothes. But I totally enjoyed it (and I loathe ironing!) - reminded me of my mum ironing clothes when we were little, loved the smell of hot clean clothes

Are your feet still swollen faith? How did you resolve the footwear dilemma?

I had to resort to flip-flops, but then got mad chilblains all over my heels - I almost ripped my feet off, the pain/itching was so intense. DH dragged me in to A&E and they got mystified by the incandescent purple welts - but my luffly GP diagnosed them the next day - said she'd never seen them on heels before!

FriendofDorothy · 11/04/2013 15:52

I bought some cheap UGG-like boots which I wore in the latter part of my pregnancy. They were about the only thing I could bend down and pull on!

fertilityFTW · 11/04/2013 16:18

Ooh, good call, Dor!

fertilityFTW · 11/04/2013 16:18

eep.

that should be 'cheap'.

FriendofDorothy · 11/04/2013 17:34

In the summer I lived in Birkenstocks.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 11/04/2013 17:35

Yes my feet are still swollen although better than when I was working! I have three pairs of shoes that fit - my running trainers and a couple of slip ons. I have these in cream and they are very comfy! I am all about shoes that I can put on without actually bending over :)

OP posts:
fertilityFTW · 11/04/2013 18:13

Ooh, I like those flats faith Am usually a 4 - but worried 5 will be too big in another month....and there's no 4.5
The search continues...

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 11/04/2013 19:31

I'm usually a 6.5 and wearing those in a 6 despite the puffy feet!

OP posts:
HavingALittleFaithBaby · 12/04/2013 14:33

So I popped into town (well I saw my friend for coffee and then did a couple of bits) and I went to try on some nursing bras. Man they were ugly. I'm going to look online at the ones you recommended dor. Anyway I caught sight of my bump in the mirror and literally went Shock. Everyone says how neat my bump is but suddenly I think it looks huge!

OP posts:
fertilityFTW · 12/04/2013 16:52

You'd think after giving birth a nice looking bra for those hardworking boobs would be just the ticket - no idea why they are by far the ugliest things out there.

Well, MW confirms LO is definitely still breech and says prepare to be told it's a CS at Tuesday's scan/consultant appt. Blurgh - feel like I've wasted all these months mentally preparing myself for the wrong exit. Totally not prepared for surgical recovery.

Oh well.
Scouring ELCS hospital bag lists now.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 12/04/2013 17:04

I know I was looking at all the pretty bras with a Envy face.

Sorry to hear baybee fertility is still breech. Are you trying to turn her round? Tried spinning babies website etc? Isn't there still time? I know what you mean about the preparation - I felt frustrated when I though Pickke was breech, especially having paid for ante-natal classes!

So I'm a bit gutted. We've carefully planned out my potential working hours so that Pickle only needs to be in nursery one half session a week. Now I find out our chosen nursery (where DNephew goes) expect you to do two sessions a week for continuity....by why would be pay double for nursery when we don't need it?! The other nursery will end up costing more per session because we'd have to drop Pickle off an hour earlier (if she went to DNephew's nursery my sister could take it) but its still cheaper than two sessions for the sake of it! She's not even born yet and it's very confusing Confused....

OP posts:
snowqueenrollo · 12/04/2013 18:12

how long is a session and could you afford the two? I'd be inclined to be forward thinking about it to be honest. If it will be more convenient in the long run to call on your sis to pick up/drop off then I'd go with that nursery. At some point you may feel glad of that extra session to get housework done unhindered. I remember very well that even as he grew and got a little more independent BigPrince still made getting jobs done very hard.....we couldn't afford nursery before the free sessions, but it would have been really useful to have that time.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 12/04/2013 18:23

A session is a half day and bearing in mind the other nursery would cost more it'll be an extra £60 a month (minus child care vouchers tax bonus whatevers). I dunno, MSB and I need to talk it through but he didn't get in til 1 last night after work social so he's currently napping!

Well I wrote a comment yesterday bit for some reason it hasn't uploaded! Still grinning about the pink!
