hi all and welcome Huffpot. I'm all for hearing about everyone's rants, makes me feel less insane for having one or two of my own Smile Ama - I hope things get better from here on. What a pain.

BadMissM I had the city mini Citizen mentioned. It's fab. I'm not fit but it folds so well and isn't too heavy so I could get it up the 40 steps at our local train station whilst carrying DS at 12mths and a change bag and work stuff! Only disadvantage is wheelbase is too wide to fit through front doors on London buses but guess that's not really a problem for you. Steering with one hand is definitely a big advantage though, particularly if you're baby decides miles from home they don't like the pram and you've forgotten the sling!

On vits my Midwife said I could get one of the better brands direct from them for just 90p. Still using up the pregnacare ones I brought in early pg, as keep forgetting to take them but will get midwife ones when I've finished these to make up for rotten diet!

BooStar · 28/01/2013 23:31

Wow! I'm away for five days & it takes me nearly 2 hours to catch up with the end of the old thread and this shiny new one!

Just coming out of a particularly bad virus. Pounding head, aching joints and limbs, throat that feels like its been attacked by a cheesegrater!
Combined with an active & boisterous 2.5yr old and an absent husband it's been a hellish couple of days.
Oh for the days of illness meaning hardcore painkillers & watching romcoms in bed rather than rubbish paracetamol & a marathon cbeebies session!!

I wish I had the sort of brain that could remember specific posts from specific people & reply accordingly but my last 2 hours reading is already spinning around in my head and being confuddled!

However, I did want to respond to those who mentioned having the rage and being massively emotionally unstable. I've felt this so much more with this pregnancy - I mean I was a bit more teary than normal when carrying my DS and definitely felt a bit homornal but nothing like this pregnancy! I'm finding myself unbearable let alone my poor DH!
Anyway I was chatting to my friend about it this weekend & she categorically told me I was having a girl. She experienced exactly the same with her second pregnancy (girl) but not with her first (boy). She thinks its to do with all the extra estrogen.
It's very anecdotal and has no scientific foundation but I'd be interested to see out of our group whether it corresponds!

15 + 4
(Really need to update my due date to 18th July - I've known now for weeks!!)

Cheeseandbread · 29/01/2013 06:50

Welcome to those just joined.

Does anyone know of any 3 wheel pushchairs/systems with non-pnumatic wheels? I've heard that the pnumatic ones puncture easily and always need to be filled up with air... Maybe this isn't true though? Still no idea what to get, although DH is slightly more interested now his Dad has given us some money towards getting one...

Cheeseandbread · 29/01/2013 06:53

Sorry you've been poorly Boo glad you are on the road to recovery.

photographerlady · 29/01/2013 07:19

Glad you are feeling better Boo.

I am not sure how you ladies with little ones do it. I'm in bed by nine and still dog tired throughout the whole day.

MightBeMad · 29/01/2013 08:29

Morning ladies!

Boo, I'm also finding this second pg much more emotional than my first. However, dc1 is a dd, so I'm not sure where that leaves your friend's theory? Maybe I'm the exception that proves the rule?

15 weeks today eek!! Grin

dinkystinky · 29/01/2013 09:02

Boo, MightbeMad - it may well be the knackeredness and emotional rollercoaster of already having a toddler/prescholer in your life is making you abit more emotional than before, rather than to do with having a boy or girl growing inside. Glad you're starting to feel better Boo - it sucks feeling ill when you cant take anything AND you have to entertain a 2 foot tall tyrant!

Cheese - check out the bestbuggy.co.uk website - I think you can look at all the different types of 3 wheelers on there and it gives the specs so you can see which are non-pneumatic wheels. I had a 3 wheeler quinny buzz with DS1 - dont remember getting punctures..

photographerlady · 29/01/2013 09:12

Someone please take my debit card away from me on payday. I keep buying cloth nappies... I think I have enough for the first year now. So addictive. Anyone else going cloth? I got a mix of littlelambs, itties, BG... and lots of preloved prefold and covers for newborn :)

flyingsprocket · 29/01/2013 09:14

What's the main difference between 3 wheels v 4? I think I would like to get a buggy that can be a jogger.

14 weeks today!

Abzs · 29/01/2013 09:19

I'm off to get scanned and see the doctor again this morning.

Hoping that the JCB over the road doesn't mean the house builders have cut me off from the bus stop by digging up the footpath.

notprincesskate · 29/01/2013 09:54

photo I'm also a cloth bum mum, have a mixture of tot bots bamboozles and BG (which sadly all need new elastic and Velcro or snaps now Sad) for DD, so thinking of boosting my collection with some tot bots easy fits and fixing up my BG- looks soooo easy on u tube!, as DD will probably still be in nappies at least at night for a bit. Sadly my washing machine has died at the mo, so being severely tested with my addiction, I just seem to be spend spend spend at the moment and none of it is exciting nice things just fixing everything we already own, its eating massively into my maternity savings Angry, rant over back to my washing machine research!

dinkystinky · 29/01/2013 09:59

Flying - you need a specific running buggy - really big wheels, three wheeler, pneumatic tyres, good suspension - normal pushchairs arent up to the job.

Photo - as we do 2 laundry loads a day already, not sure I'd be able to cope with cloth nappies increasing our washing mountain. Plenty of my friends are addicted to cloth nappies though - the padded big bums that babies have in them are so cute!

TotallyEggFlipped · 29/01/2013 10:08

Cheese I've never had any problems with the wheels on my quinny buzz 3 either, but it wouldn't be much use for jogging.

Guavasforbreakfast · 29/01/2013 10:57

Ahaha photographer I've spent the last couple weeks doing the same thing! I've discovered it is soooo addictive - I dread to think what I'll be like once baby is actually here! Don't even want to admit how much I've spent - some new but prewashed from eBay, some in sales. Just wanted a range of different types to try out, then ended up going a bit crazy... Confused

BadMissM · 29/01/2013 11:08

You've all been busy!

Will go and have a look at the City Mini Citizen, MarieKL Though would have to check it went on the buses here (I don't drive).... any buggy/pram I have needs to be small, light, go from birth upwards, and preferably fold in both directions (we live in a Victorian terraced house, with the narrowest hallway in the world, and after watching my friend attempt to do a 97 point turn with her buggy to get it in....). I also don't drive, so it needs to go on a bus/train and possibly sometimes tube....even though I now live in back of beyond, London is where my family are....

Umming and Ahhing about cloth nappies....

In other news, now on the diabetic medication, finally....

elliejjtiny · 29/01/2013 11:29

cheese I have pneumatic wheels on my 3 wheeler but I have recently got slime filled inner tubes which have reduced the punctures by loads.

photographer I use a mixture of cloth and disposable. My favourites are the itti bitti d'lish ones, mainly because they come in bright colours and are fluffy [shallow emoticon]

Yesterday some random old woman on the bus saw DS3 and asked me if I had any others etc. When I said he was my 3rd boy she started saying things like "oh what a shame" and "you need a girl to go shopping with". Then she patted me on the arm and said "you need to get your DH some tighter pants, love. That'll keep his beneaths nice and hot and then you'll get a girl" Shock. What is it with these people. I hadn't said I was pregnant, goodness knows what she would have said then.

I always thought having the rage meant boy and crying a lot meant girl but I've had a mixture of both in all my pregnancies.

SlouchingPanda · 29/01/2013 12:02

Grin at "his beneaths".

Seriously though, why don't people just butt out! It is none of their business!! Am lucky this is my first so no-one has an opinion on what gender it's ok for me to have!

I've got The Rage Angry haven't I? Almost certainly a boy then... Actually I have a sneaky feeling it is a boy, but we'll see in July...

16+5 (and wondering if I'm starting to feel movements! Exciting!).

specialknickers · 29/01/2013 12:08

LOLing at the daft old bat on the bus ellie... I'd have told her I loathe shopping (tis true). I find this idea that if you've got lots of boys you need a girl to sprinkle fluffy pink pixie dust everywhere really quite offensive. I'd love a house full of boys myself (grew up with brothers, maybe it just feels normal to me).

specialknickers · 29/01/2013 12:25

Can't remember who asked about preg cigs originally but am still taking mine... Got the pregnacare ones with omega 3 oils yesterday because they'd run out of the normal sort in Asia because I hardly ever manage to east oily fish. Can't see that it would do any harm (apart from to your bank balance of course).

Anyone got any good pregnancy pillow suggestions? I can't find my old one and have baulked at the cost of the dream genie...

specialknickers · 29/01/2013 12:26

Vits! Vitamins, not cigs in pregnancy fgs. Bloody iPad.

photographerlady · 29/01/2013 13:21

Geez I am not looking forward to creepy people coming up to me in the street ellie. Grin

dinkystinky · 29/01/2013 13:50

Lol at the crazy old lady on the bus Ellie!

TotallyEggFlipped · 29/01/2013 14:16

Grin at pregnancy cigs!

TotallyEggFlipped · 29/01/2013 14:20

specialknickers my SIL swears by her belly bean maternity pillow, but she's in Australia. You could probably get something similar over here, but I don't know what it'd be called.....

CottonSock · 29/01/2013 14:27

Lol at the bus lady and cigs! I'm taking the ones midwife gave me.

Thanks for the oyster feedback. I always get nervous after reading any negative reviews. Decision been easier now I realise that one pushchair can't do everything
