Cant tell anyone except dh in real life so hoping i can get quietly excited here!

so glad I went in for the early scan... though not great news. They could only see the sac, no baby, and it was measuring at about 6 weeks, when I should be 8. I have to go back in a week for a scan, and had some bloods taken, but I think this is going to be me getting off the October bus .

(For all the newbies out there, please don't be scared. I went in for the early scan because of my history and my knowledge of what it feels like to be pregnant. There is no reason at all for you to think the same will happen to you! Also (rant alert) - please don't use the EPAU just because you're impatient to see the little one. Its there for women in genuinely distressing situations so please remember that when you're in there.

I totally agree, I'm nervous and worried about this pg but am patiently waiting for my 12 week scan as I have no need for an earlier one and don't believe in wasting the good nhs resources we have. I'm all for women getting early scans who need one,but I'm happy to sit back and play by the rules!!xx

I have to say, given this is my first pregnancy i am terrified of things going wrong, i wish i did have a benchmark to judge thigs against, for now i will take i still have low end tummy ache, strange appitite and OMG mood swings to be a good sign!! (oh almost forgot the desire to sleep 24/7)

We have a holiday booked for literally the day i am 12 weeks!, i am really hoping the midwife will let me have my 12 week scan 2-3 days early so we can go knowing either way! that way we spend the holiday getting more excited or mending! if not it has to be said i would consider a private scan (if i was not 100% convinced i was still pregnant) - would be interested in other people views as to whether this is a bad idea?

pinkbuttons and roxvox, thank you for the thrush advice. I've got a pessary so fingers crossed that does the trick. I've only ever had thrush once before and could just take the tablet last time, a lot less messy! Although I guess I should get used to nether regions mess.........

had an awful day...... dogs had a fight this morning, was very scary, not happened before and i couldn't part them collie at the vets, had to have her leg stitched, can go and pick her up in an hour......

also had a riding lesson booked, but managed to get my instructor to ride her for me, as she hadn't seen us for about 4 months, and said I wanted to see someone else riding her, and feel how she had come on

then had farrier..... I thought i was going to fall asleep standing up!

then had 2 pick 2 littlies up 15 mins early in order to get to parents afternoon at ds2's high school.

now having a well earned cuppa before going to pick up the dog,
get the horses in and feed our calves!

Think it might be a chip shop tea if I can persuade dh to go and pick it up!

Blimey cazboldy sounds like a mad day! You must be exhausted! I don't have any DCs and barely have the energy just to do my job!

Pulled a muscle in my groin! Keep scaring myself its ectopic pain even though I know its too far down to be anything to do with the bean!

Any beans have a bump name yet? Mine immediately became 'tinyface' as DH nn is Ballface Smallface (don't ask!) and so it was an extension of that. Very natural!

I was super sick today. Went for the best steak pie today and you could guess what happened when I finished. It was horrid I did not stop vomiting till I had nothing in me even a little blood came up

It was a little better as I had midwife appointment today, she was super happy I had been sick said its a sign of a healthy bean.

She also said I could self refer to epu as I had been under there care when I m/c before if I wanted a reassurance scan not sure though yet.

So, DH and I generally downplay Valentine's Day and only swap hilarious cards, but he took it too far this year...and left the card for his pregnant wife at work! Was seriously

So sorry to hear your news santa.

I'm going to dip a very nervous and tentative toe onto the thread. I've been lurking since I got a faint, faint line on Monday. I had my BFP confirmed by a blood test yesterday, so I am 4+1, so super early on. I have been trying for over two years for a much wanted first, and after undergoing all manner of prodding and poking we were diagnosed with "unexplained infertility" and sent for IVF. This was our first cycle. After so long, I am terrified of something going wrong. But I am joining because I think it will be great to "meet" a lot of women in the same position regardless of my outcome. I'll have an early scan at 6+1, which is standard at my IVF clinic. Sorry to hear Santa.

So much for moaning about not feeling too sick anymore, suddenly had swollen gum this evening, I literarily can see like a gum extension, quickly googled it and saw its quite common with pregnancy, so off to get my free dental sorted next week.

Other symptoms have been extreme bloating, stomach feels huge but I look n d mirror and it doesn't look as huge as it feels, mouth is sour with that bland taste, appetite is weird, nausea but not being sick yet. For some reason I want some more symptoms and saw this gum thing today, feel like an alien now!

funkky sounds like what I had last pregnancy, I think they called it a 'strawberry' though mine was much later and started with a little bleeding in that area. Def get it checked out, but they wouldn't do anything about mine as they said its likely to come back before pregnancy is over and to come back 6 months after giving birth then they would do something if not gone. By the time I gave birth it was really pretty gross, but magically it went down pretty quickly and no problems since.

Euro and all other newbies to the bus, welcome. Please get comfortably and enjoy the ride. Who has the snacks? I'm feeling both sick and starving!!

Nauseous all day and just had to lie flat on the sofa this evening (with DD climbing all over me). I didn't feel this bad with DD until about 7 weeks - and I got pretty sick with her :(

Anyone else felt this bad this early?

... and I've just realised that I'm the oldest on the list as well aren't I?! I was the oldest in our antenatal group with DD by a long shot...

Maybe it's just old age and knackeredness thats causing me to feel rough!
