The Twinings Earl Grey is ok, finitely not as good as the real thing but good enough.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 12/02/2013 09:23

Are earl grey and lady grey ok? It's all I drink so I hope so!

littleducks · 12/02/2013 09:33

Ran for the bus, careful breathing meant I was still able to clambor on. Walked up 5 flights of stairs, my heart was beating so hard it felt like it would pop out my ears.

I'm a very north London girl (just realised I asked an didnt volunteer any info about me). Commuting into the City four days a week for a while, not much fun atm.

Pannacotta- can understand the worry, but I have had blip days too. Your symptoms may be back with avengance by tea time.

Shitscaredand trying- that was me last week, now I'm secretly smiling and dead chuffed. Congratulations!

Rockchick1984 · 12/02/2013 09:48

Iheartcrunchiebars the only issue with earl grey and lady grey is the caffeine, same as any tea and coffee. See HERE for NHS guideline on how much caffeine is safe in pregnancy :)

Umlauf · 12/02/2013 09:51

You lots are so lucky! I can't even get proper caffeinated tea here let alone anything decaf. I swear Spain is like a 3rd world country sometimes! Do you think if I ask MIL to bring some with her next week when she visits she will guess the reason why? DH has forbidden me to request she bring stretch mark cream!

Today for the first time I chose baggy clothes to wear. I have a massive tummy jeans overhang. Only 7+1. It's probably more connected to last nights giant risotto isn't it?! When does a bump start to really protude?!

Iheartcrunchiebars · 12/02/2013 09:56

Thanks rockchick1984 I will take a look!

Umlauf my tummy seems huge but I'm only 5 weeks and 3 days. I'm quite looking forward to nice stretchy maternity jeans!

Rockchick1984 · 12/02/2013 10:00

Umlauf get it all on amazon!!! Ask MIL if you can get an order delivered to her house, she can just bring it all still packaged up and you can get all the stuff you really want :)

I put on so much weight in the first trimester last time that I've no idea when I should have started with a bump Blush but I think it's usually about 12 weeks you would start to show, around 17/18 weeks into maternity wear from what friends have had happen to them. It's earlier with subsequent pregnancies, as your tummy muscles are already knackered!

Soupqueen · 12/02/2013 10:05

Sorry, iheartcrunchiebars, I should have been clearer. It's Twinings decaf Earl Grey. I got it on amazon as couldn't find it locally.

JellyCurls · 12/02/2013 10:15

tucking fits also on west coast of scotland but need a good 30 minute walk from house to get the island views and gorgeous sunsets.

A lack of symptoms here this morning except my nose is working overdrive. My sense of smell is usually what lets the cat out of the bag so trying not to comment on my boss eating smelly tunes (he sits about 6 desks away)

roofio87 · 12/02/2013 10:27

Morning ladies!!
Re: tea, I have discovered redbush tea, doesn't taste just like normal tea, has a slightly sweeter smell and taste, but is lovely and it naturally caffeine free so you don't need to worry about even a small amount of caffiene. id recommend especially if you normall like earl/lady grey. I bought M&S redbush, but lots of brands do now, its quite popular!!
panacotta don't worry too much, my symptoms definitely come and go, but get the bloods done if it will make you feel better!!
pinkbuttons good luck at the hospital today!!
I'm feeling rubbish today, got a terrible cold and feel so sick, can't decide if i'm sick or the ms has just appeared today by coincidence. had a rubbish nights sleep; cut to me at 4am downstairs eating rice krispies and crying at an old episode of 'what not to wear'!!!

WillSantaComeAgain · 12/02/2013 10:33

Morning all,

Getting v concerned by my complete lack of symptoms. I'm sure the nausea and chronically sore boobs had kicked in by now with DC1 (am 7+4 today). My only possible symptoms are tiredness (but that can be explained by the fact that DH and I have a ridiculously busy life and I'm ALWAYS tired) and slightly constipated (but also get that frequently).

I'm still exercising - cycling to work and swimming and going to the gym regularly. IMHO staying fit in pregnancy is really important. I let it slide last time and it was a long slow road back so want to maintain my fitness levels as much as poss. I will cycle till I can't reach the drops I think Grin.

MW booking appt tomorrow. I self referred - I just phoned the GP's surgery and asked how I get to see a MW. No need to make a dr's appt unless they make you Smile. My booking appt for DC1 wasn't till 10+4, and I didn't hear from the MW till 9+4. Was stressing a lot about the delay, but the scan was already booked in and it all fitted in well. Really going to push for an early scan this time round, on account of the lack of symptoms and my history.

HotSoupDumpling · 12/02/2013 10:53

WillSanta - ooh I didn't know you could self-refer. We wasted time seeing a GP for about 5 minutes...everything we discussed could have been done over the phone. Good luck with the appointment.

Umlauf, our friends in Spain order stuff from Amazon UK all the time, and get it delivered to their Spanish address - delivery is can be very cheap (and sometimes it's completely free if there is super saver delivery and if the order is dispatched and sold by Amazon).

I'm definitely getting a bigger belly but it's almost certainly the bloating Blush

roxvox · 12/02/2013 11:52

Well I think a slight bout of nausea may have started. I'm feeling a bit queasy and a bit dizzy, so I thought I had better eat something but seem to be forcing this banana down as I really don't feel like eating.

Is this how MS starts?

legallyblond · 12/02/2013 12:56

Hey all

Umlauf - most people don't show enough to wear maternity clothes with their first until about 20ish weeks. Until then, I just remember looking a bit fat! The BEST maternity clothes are from Seraphine... I expect they'll deliver to Spain!

Sick as a dog again today, but I haven't actually puked yet, so that's progress. Was describing to DH.... It feels exactly like the absolute worst hangover ever. Those ones as a student where you puked and were unable to function all day... Except I have to work and look after DD.

legallyblond · 12/02/2013 12:57

Just to clarify, haven't puked yet today... First day since about 8 days ago. No ms at all with DD.... Maybe a boy?!?

BowlFullofJelly · 12/02/2013 13:24

Hi legally, think morning sickness is supposed to indicate a girl, thought I think that's only if the MS is severe. Had slight nausea only with DS, and seems to be the same this time, so am thinking another boy (and am secretly hoping for another boy though obviously won't say so in real life because gender preference is wicked Hmm).

Had GP this morning - pointless obviously but she was batty lovely, telling me all about her different births etc. She said I will probably have booking in at 11 weeks with scan! Which is different to last time, and a long wait, but I suppose would be better.

legallyblond · 12/02/2013 13:40

Ha ha! I would never ever say in RL but would be nice to have a boy this time! We didn't find out last time... But plan to this time if the bean is in a good position at 20 weeks!

I have MW next week at 8 weeks then I'll get a scan date between 11.4 and 13.6 (or is it 11.6 and 13.4) as they do the nuchal fold tests here as well as normal 12 week dating. Same as where we used to live. First timers... It is worth bearing in mind that you really need your NHS "12 week" scan to be within those dates, not earlier, otherwise they can't do an accurate nuchal fold. A friend of mine from last time round was deliberately vague re her dates to have an earlier scan (excited and impatient!!) but she was just under 11 weeks so they couldn't do nuchal fold measurements. Didn't matter a jot in the end, but she still worried!!!

NewMumJuly11 · 12/02/2013 13:59

Hey Guys, hope I'm not too late to join this thread. Just had a Bfp and think I will be due mid october with DC2. Luckily I stopped drinking caffeine when I had DS1 in August 2011 and haven't started again since so at least that's not an issue. Although I had just got used to having a glass of wine in the evenings again (as DS1 was 100% BF) so will have to give that up SadHaven't made an appointment with the doctors yet but I feel like their plenty of time for that maybe I'll call later this week. V excited but nervous I always worry about what could go wrong then there are the financial worries and the emotional worries, can I get used to sleepless nights again.....

PseudoBadger · 12/02/2013 14:05

Hello! Nervously dipping my toe into the thread as just got a BFP after a MC in december. EDD 18th October I think....

pinkbuttons · 12/02/2013 14:23

Hello to everyone new! Congratulations on your BFPs!

Just back from my scan a bit relieved and more worried at the same time Confused
Pregnancy is in the right place and have a cyst on my ovary which explains the pain. BUT they put me at 8 days behind what I thought... Puts me at being due on the 9th October instead of the 1st and only 6 weeks tomorrow. Bit confused about this as had a positive opk and know when I ovulated etc... anyway not so worried about a change of date as I am that the bean just isnt growing, no way of knowing at this point. and because my scan was booked for 11+6 that now has to be changed and will probably be about 2 weeks later. very rubbish.
sorry for moaning and a very me me me post just dont know what to think. On a more positive note we say a tiny flashing heart beat so at this moment in time bean is ok...

Anyway everyone looking forward to pancakes tonight?

pinkbuttons · 12/02/2013 14:27

cancel that am supposedly due the 8th not quite 8 days behind. will change myself on list when get on my laptop. although apparently will most likely change again at 12 weeks Smile

roofio87 · 12/02/2013 14:39

oh good news pinkbuttons!! yeah I'm sure its a little confusing if you think you know when u conceived, but I'm sure that's more common than you think. but it has a little heart beat and you have an explanation for your pain so that all sounds really positive to me!! so pleased for you. just keep going now and twiddling your thumbs with all of us here!! the next 6 weeks are going to drag!!xx

Rockchick1984 · 12/02/2013 14:39

Glad the scan went well Pink! Just in case you weren't aware, implantation can take a couple of days for some people, nearly 2 weeks for others, and a positive OPK occurs before ovulation not necessarily on the day you ovulate so a couple of days shouldn't be a concern. I bet it was amazing seeing your little bean's heartbeat!!! How many weeks are you now (by their calculations)?

tuckingfits · 12/02/2013 14:39

Glad you've got your info bowl - that sounds like a good system,I know it's a long wait but at least it'll all be done together. How exciting!

Sorry for those of you being sick. Horrible. I have felt queasy but that's it,just hungry mostly, some pains which I'm putting down to stretching & I've also had the thigh pains, but I have a touch of sciatica so it'll only get worse as it goes on - remembering from last time. Pretty sure I started wearing under bump trousers from about 9 weeks last time as they were more comfortable for being on my feet at work all the time, not because I needed to,but they were like a revelation at the time! As for having a bump,I started getting a bit thicker around the waist at about 17 weeks & had a recognisable bump by about 22 weeks. Wondering how early it'll show this time round!!

Also having a dilemma about work. I am in with a good chance of a job with less travel, possibly slightly more money but only temporary plus obviously I am already pregnant so wouldn't be entitled to mat pay. This would be a seasonal position starting in March, going thru til the beginning of Oct. Does anyone know about maternity allowance? I was thinking along the lines of it being less in petrol, home at a more reasonable hour because the place won't be open so late & isn't so far away,if tips are better they could be saved too. I don't know... Part of me thinks it's worth applying for,I would feel obliged to explain that I'm pregnant, then I suppose ball is in their court & even if they offered me the role I could still decide against it.

Rockchick1984 · 12/02/2013 14:43

Tucking MA is the same amount per week as SMP, you just don't get the 6 weeks at 90% like SMP and obviously no enhanced company mat pay! If you're working full time now you will qualify for it, it's about 25 of the 66 weeks prior to getting pregnant that you need to have worked.

I wouldn't tell them you're pregnant though!!
