New thread created in haste before the old one fills up!

I'm definitely finding out. I'm too much of a planner to leave something like that to chance. However, friend was told she was having a girl and had a boy, so well aware it's not an exact science.

HettySunshine · 19/01/2013 08:06

I think we'll also find out. DBIL has already offered to decorate the nursery and it makes sense to me to be able to know which palate to use. Also I'm looking forward to being aw to say 'he' or 'she'.

Never been very good at surprises!

Might find out, will probably be one of those asking the sonography to write it down and not look at it for a few days type of thing.
Don't really care about colours and stuff- everything about clothes and rooms will be primary colours :).

MrsMc82 · 19/01/2013 08:14

Hi Everyone,
So this Must be real as am on a Mumsnet AnteNatal thread!
First month of trying, so DH dissapointed (ha!) But both v excited and terrified in equal measure....excited at another little one (DS is 3 this week) and terrified till make it to ellusive 12weeks and can breath sigh of relief...
Slight concern not feeling sick, just starving, where as was sick at least 5times a day from 4weeks with DS...but know can be different with each pg....

cravingformilk · 19/01/2013 08:16

We did find out with DC1 but not to this time. I've experienced knowing in advance and now I want the surprise - although I'm 99.9% sure it will be a boy (just a hunch and DH has a very male dominated family).

swaye · 19/01/2013 08:31

MrsMc82 Im not feelin sick either but having sweats at night and freezng in the dayplus little twinges like period pains. Not looking fwd to MS . Im hungry and not hungry at the same time, think this is the swing of wow im gonna be a mum and omg what is happenng!!!

KamikazeeKid · 19/01/2013 08:33

Really sorry to read jmf news. Thoughts are with you. Definitely go for it when you feel ready. Take care xx

Well as far as gender reveals. ...I don't want to know. We never found out with DS1 after a sleepless painful week 41 and an emergency caesarean it was THE BEST thing ever finding out then....made all that horrible bit at the end worth it :-) the only part left I could have achieved from birth plan was us finding out not them telling us.

I'll do the same this time :-)

Ive all day nausea but more like hunger pains and regular onsets of ridiculous tiredness. Nipps are a little sore. Im totally different this time round.

I keep getting too scared to think about the future as so worried something will be wrong, I lost at 5 and 7 weeks before. I've already had to have an early scan to rule out ectopic and saw flumps heartbeat but im still worried!

Can someone update me on the list please? Im already on there at bottom just no details....I cant copy onphone - thanks!

KamikazeeKid · 19/01/2013 08:35

I did keep a pregnancy diary last time and glad I did! Its been great reading how things were first time. I was sooooooo sick at 430 pm every day!!

kimjayne · 19/01/2013 09:04

we are the first in our friend group to get pregnant, we've still not told anyone (apart from an old friend of mine who lives in Leeds). Trying to keep it from our close friends for at least a few more weeks. But for some reason this last week or so, its like im wearing an 'Im pregnant' sign on my head! Everyones asking us if we have and news? One friend (male) just came out with "I bet you're pregnant now arent you" ... totally out of tgeh blue! Having kids isn't even something we discuss with ffriends that often. On top of that I've also had my business review at work this week. Part way through it my boss suddenly came out with "if you ever need to take some "time out" .... you know! for family time... then we are prepared"!
This is our first so maybe im just really crap at hiding my excicement ... or maybe they have noticed my rushed bathroom visits every few hours!? Who knows. At least its make me feel more confident about telling my boss. Smile

I hope everyone has a lovely Saturday!

jennimoo · 19/01/2013 10:03

Made it to the scan despite DD being up sick in the night. Had to go by myself but glad I went as all well, strong heartbeat, and measuring a few days bigger than dates!

CharlW1 · 19/01/2013 10:22

Glad I've found the group again! I have my first early scan on Tuesday - just hope it's good news but feeling very nervous about it.
Have had lots of clumsy moments this week - including knocking a picture off a wall with my bag in a restaurant - cue everyone looking at me to see what was going on and the owner asking if I was hurt!

jm233 · 19/01/2013 10:29

Jenni that's fab, such good news!

TripleRock · 19/01/2013 11:15

Well done Jenni!

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 19/01/2013 11:37

Smile well my spotting has calmed down again. Still there but just a tiny amount again. I've got GP first thing Monday, so ill speak to her then.
I'm having great fun here today, driving my teenagers mad. Ds16 is currently making the baby a cup of tea! Ds13 did the drying up 'for the baby'!...
I'm really going to enjoy being pregnant! Grin

MeanMrsMustard · 19/01/2013 11:54

Morning all
Today is my booking in appointment. Is it bad I'm really excited?

I'm 8+6 today. My scan is exactly a month away and I'm still deliberating whether to get a private one first. A month feels like a very long wait! I was certain i'd get an early scan but I have more pregnancy symptoms now so I'm feeling less on edge. But then again, every time I read on here that someone has seen a heartbeat I wish it were me. (congrats jenni! Very jealous)
Are a lot of you having private scans?

I've been feeling pretty sick this week. Eating makes it go away, but I suddenly get too full and feel sick in a different way. I am eating a lot of cold meat, bread, mango and twister ice lollies.

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 19/01/2013 12:10

Sounds like we have some good news this morning. jennimoo saw a heartbeat and catpuss's spotting seems to be getting better.

I couldn't get into my jeans this morning Sad DH sensitively said 'are you that big already'!! It's only 6 weeks, so I'm in shock a bit. I didn't really have a bump till 20 weeks last time!

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 19/01/2013 12:22

Yes. Today is going to be a good day! Smile

LexyMa · 19/01/2013 13:20

We didn't have any extra scans first time around but we did hear the heartbeat on a doppler thingy at the booking in appt which was about 10w. Made a half decent recording on mobile phone which we then played to grandparents-to-be.

if I do anything private this time it is likely to be booking an independent midwife. As I'm working on the assumption I am low risk, and our early-days anecdotal 'evidence' (!) indicates Watford General is going to be super busy in Sept... I think paying for an IM will reassure me that I'll get continuous care and the birth I want. I wish it was that way as standard for everyone but I will try not to let my guilt at being able to pay get so much that I start wearing hemp bras or something...!

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 19/01/2013 13:29

LexyMa how do you start looking for an independent midwife? I'm thinking of a doula for the same reason, continuous care (or even just some care). Would like to see what's the price difference between a doula and an independent midwife.
