Dorita75 · 18/01/2013 19:26

Hi, can I join please? Got bfp on 3rd Jan, EDD 13th Sept. I am swinging between excitement and flatness as I had a missed miscarriage this time last year and am currently thinking it's not going to last again. Wasn't sure about joining a thread but realised nothing is going to jinx it, nothing I do can affect how things will go.

So, am monitoring symptoms like a mad woman! Are my boobs still hurting when I run down the stairs? Do I feel sick or is that just being on the bus? I can conclude that boob pain fluctuates and I've definitely been feeling sick this week. I'm 6 weeks today and also need carbs, though the main thing is I need to eat every hour to stop feeling nauseous. Just eaten a homemade cottage pie and am already thinking of my next food intake. I don't care if I put weight on, I need it!!!

Hello to you all Smile

andadietcoke · 18/01/2013 19:30

Thanks onelittle and MummyOf*. I'm sure we'll be fine.

I've booked antenatal classes with the NCT because they're in our town and I don't know anyone local at all. But...I've been putting off paying for them until I'm sure everything's going to be okay. I have to do it by Sunday I think. In two minds - given how busy September seems, I don't want to lose my place, but I don't want to tempt fate by signing up before I even know if it's a viable pregnancy. Argh.

frogchops · 18/01/2013 19:42

Have spoken to the nurse at my surgery today who has reassured me that I'm more at risk of mc from worrying than I am with flying. Feel a but better now.

jm233 · 18/01/2013 19:43

CatPuss- from what I've read it seems like spotting is completely normal (as long as it isn't heavy and you aren't in pain), but I can imagine that you are scared out of your wits by that, I know I would be.
When I phoned to book my MW apt I asked what to do in a 'just in case situation'- they told me to either call my MW directly or call the Early Pregnancy Cenre. Do you have something like that where you are?

amidwifecrisis · 18/01/2013 19:45

I go on nights for 2 nights and we need a new thread? Good work ladies!

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 18/01/2013 19:49

amidwifecrisis is it busy in your area for the coming sept too? Getting a bit worried now Hmm

amidwifecrisis · 18/01/2013 19:52

We're not booking in any more people than normal at the moment, and I don't know of anyone in RL due around sept yet, so not really. Not especially busy.

amidwifecrisis · 18/01/2013 19:52

Cripes, I said the 'B' word Shock

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/01/2013 19:54

JM I have no idea. I'm seeing the doctor on Monday to get booked in so I suppose I'll get more info then. Ill have a google In case I need to speak to someone before then.

TripleRock · 18/01/2013 19:56

CatPuss sorry you are worried, I hope things are improved in the morning

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/01/2013 20:01

Well the website for my local EPAU is quite interesting. Basically, anything strange going on whatsoever, speak to the GP/midwife. Don't call us! Confused I think if anything new develops, in the absence of any kind of midwife contact no, I will just call Nhs direct.

Dorita75 · 18/01/2013 20:24

From what you've said catpuss it sounds like erosion, the fact it's been brown but it's a good idea to get checked out for reassurance. Amazing how these worries change your whole mood, sure pregnancy emotions don't help! Take care.

Readytosettle · 18/01/2013 20:47

Just had a major fall down the stairs (they're wooden so it really hurt!). Bruised my back & hurt my neck....totally shook me up. Have done a bit of searching & the general concencus is that it won't affect the fetus this early on. But I'm still pretty freaked out. Fx all is ok!

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/01/2013 20:58

Fx Ready. I'm sure everything will be ok. X

BentleyBelly · 18/01/2013 21:05

Hello ladies, can I join please? I think I'm due around the end Aug/beginning Sept. Got my BFP on 21st Dec and have been lurking since then as didn't really believe it. I think I'm over the shock now. Turns out my husband is quite a good shot as it was the first month we started ttc and its a honeymoon baby, was conceived in Thailand! I am 30 and its my first. I have been feeling like poo for the last 3 weeks but touch wood have felt a bit better the last couple of days. Can't get enough of crisps or oranges, always seem to have a vile taste in my mouth and they cover it up.
Hope everyone has had a nice day with the snow.
Readytosettle hope you don't feel too sore after your tumble.

jennimoo · 18/01/2013 21:38

Hi bentley, got my BFP the same day as you!

Hope you're ok readytosettke sounds painful!

I'm stressing about tomorrow. Supposed to have a scan at 9:20 about 15 mins drive (normally) from home. When I called today at 4 pm there was no reply and website says they don't open til 10am... DH says just go anyway but seems a bit silly when his drive home from work took 90 instead of 20 mins today! I wish I'd booked it for yesterday, was the original plan...

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 18/01/2013 21:43

readytosettle I fell down the stairs once holding DD when she was a newborn. Never been so scared in my life! Luckily I was near the bottom so we didn't fall far. I completely shielded her. I'm now always extra careful going down the stairs holding DD. The early days were harder I found as I have to hold her two handed to support her neck. Your bump still has all the cushioning of you, so I'm sure he or she is baking in their fine Grin

jm233 · 18/01/2013 21:59

Speaking of he and shes- who is going to find out what they're having? I am far too nosey like precision planning to keep it a surprise!

kipsonline · 18/01/2013 22:04

Evening all! Just checking in really. Hope you make it to the scan ok Jennimoo and that you have arnica handy for your bruises Ready. I fell head/tummy first down my parents stairs when I was 4 months gone with DS1. Terrifying but turned out ok. I did need to have an extra anti d shot though as was rhs neg with rhs pos DH. I had to take my trousers off as soon as I got home tonight and put my baggy pjs on, I def have a mini bump already at 7.5 wks. Eeek. I have just hauled my bag of mat clothes out of the loft in response but they look huge, I guess the result of having been worn for my 2 huge bumps and lent out to friends too as not expecting to need them again .... Shopping opp soon??? Bring it on!!

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/01/2013 22:18

JM not me! There's nothing like that moment when you discover the sex of your newborn! It's going to be part of my birth plan god willing that DP be the first to look.

PinkApple86 · 18/01/2013 22:28

Hello all, got my first BFP today. Still in shock (good shock) so please add me to the list.
Pinkapple86, 26, bfp 17th Jan, edd ? Irregular AF so I think will be in sept. Best wishes to all.

Creamtea1 · 18/01/2013 23:10

jm not me for finding out either! Part of the magic (or distraction from the pain) of finding out on their arrival. Also have 2 ds already and no way am I giving anyone the opportunity of saying its because I want a girl..

SGJ · 18/01/2013 23:27

We won't find out, didn't with DD either. For me, finding out at birth is all part of the surreal experience of having a baby!

ThedementedPenguin · 18/01/2013 23:43

Hey everyone, I'm not expecting this year but I had a baby boy on 14th September last year. Was having a nosy through your thread and you've all made me very broody. Confused definitely not the right time as ds is only 18 weeks today!

Any way I just want to say congrats to you all, hope you all have a lovely, quiet pregnancy and hope nobody is suffering too badly with morning sickness.
