New thread created in haste before the old one fills up!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Fl0b0t that's really encouraging. I can really imagine you crying all the way through the appointment, as I'm in floods of tears about my nausea/ throwing up really often right now.
I got sent home from work yesterday, I'm off work again today.
I feel horribly guilty and am just fed up with feeling ill.

I have lost about 3 kilos in weight this week, though, which is not actually a bad thing. I'm not dehydrated as am managing to keep fluids down later in the day.... But god! I hope this passes quickly. Am fed up now.

CrikeeThree · 30/01/2013 14:56

I did NCT classes for DC1. Found them really helpful, and am still in very regular contact with all the mums in my group except one.

We still meet up with and without DCs 4 years on, and it was a total sanity-saver in the early days to have people around that you could email/meet that were going through all the same stuff as you.

But I know that not everyone has the same experience...

fl0b0t · 30/01/2013 15:06

Crikeee how many weeks are you and have you told anyone? It's really hard when we're resolved not to tell people, I have an "undisclosed stomach bug".....

nerual · 30/01/2013 15:11

I had a very similar experience CrikeeThree, and also found my group's support invaluable in the first few months. I did also meet people at baby groups, but we never really got to the swapping emails/phone number stage, we just knew each other enough to say hi and have a quick chat. But, this is London, it is well known as a place where it can be hard to make new friends!

CrikeeThree · 30/01/2013 15:20

fl0b0t I THINK I'm nearly 9 weeks. I ended up telling my Head of Dept in the end, because I was so upset yesterday. But in some ways that makes it worse. I feel guilty for taking time off work for something that is "self-inflicted" IYSWIM!

Got to stop feeling sorry for myself at one point. But right now, I can't!! I'm irritating mySELF with my inability to just get on with it....

neural yes... I think everyone has different experiences, and I have met friends at other things, but I was so lucky with my NCT group, because we had similar thoughts/ attitudes to stuff, and we were so open about everything, it was a real relief when you're going through the "WTF is going on???" stage....

SGJ · 30/01/2013 15:27

To those feeling bad about having time off - I've had a bad cold for 2 weeks now, dead on my feet etc - finally gave in today and have taken a half day, and I'm going to have tomorrow off too or I'll never recover!
I seem to remember doing the same last time round, I think it all catches up with you at this stage and you need to take some time to properly rest (which I haven't in the slightest so far!)... so don't feel guilty, it's normal!!

SGJ · 30/01/2013 15:29

Oh and we did NCT too, met a lovely bunch of people who we still see regularly & even had some to stay a couple of weeks ago as they've moved from the area. Not everyone thinks it's great but we did.

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 30/01/2013 15:40

Hey,

I'm out. Following the spotting earlier made appt with EPU. Measuring at 8 + 5 when should be 10, no heartbeat. Very sad as had a scan which showed heartbeat at 8+1 so happened soon after. Really devastated. Can someone take me off the list please.

Good luck to the rest of you lovely ladies.

Camomile

SGJ · 30/01/2013 15:46

Oh gosh, Camomile, that's heartbreaking. I'm so sorry.

CrikeeThree · 30/01/2013 16:26

Really sorry Camomile

MeanMrsMustard · 30/01/2013 16:32

So sorry camomile x

Zeuxippe · 30/01/2013 16:42

Camomile I'm so sorry to hear your news.

Unfortunately I also had confirmation today that this pregnancy has ended.

Love, hugs and lots of luck to everyone xx

kipsonline · 30/01/2013 16:48

Oh camomile and zeux I'm so sorry to hear your news. Take care and lots of love and luck for the future

kipsonline · 30/01/2013 16:49

Am just back from what must be the oddest midwife booking in appointment EVER. She was sick mid way through in a sink in the corner. I kid you not! Poor poor woman.....

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 30/01/2013 16:55

Thanks guys. Appreciate the kind thoughts.

Really sorry Zeuxippe. It's fecking rubbish. Hope you have someone lovely supporting you.

Kipsonline : that sorry did actually make me giggle through the tears so thank you. Maybe she is pregnant - did you ask her?

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 30/01/2013 16:56

Story not sorry!

fl0b0t · 30/01/2013 16:57

Sorry to hear your news camomile and zeux. And kips-what was all that about?

SaggyOldPregnantCatpuss · 30/01/2013 17:08

I am sitting in the car park of the walk in centre, EPAU me. I had a pelvic exam yesterday by GP to confirm my spotting was from my erosion, and it has made it worse. Have red blood and tiny clots. I am totally freaking out! I have a scan appointment tomorrow at 9.50. I AM NOT GETTING OFF THIS BUS DAMMIT! Confused

Kittenkatzen · 30/01/2013 17:25

So sorry to hear your news camomile and zeux :( hope you are both being looked after.

saggy keeping everything crossed for you.

kips ewww that's gross, did she give you any explanation?!

andadietcoke · 30/01/2013 17:33

Zeux and Camomile I'm so very sorry. Take care of yourselves, but make sure there are other people to take care of you too.

Saggy I'm sure it's just extra irritation from the examination and it will calm down again. Do not get off the bus. I repeat. Do not get off the bus.

Creamtea1 · 30/01/2013 18:02

zeux and camomile really sorry to hear your news, how very sad. Hope you are getting some rest and being looked after.

kips I presume either your MW is pregnant or had sudden onset norovirus!! If she is pregnant maybe your midwife is a midwifecrisis from this thread - now that would be a small world!

Creamtea1 · 30/01/2013 18:04

catpuss positive thoughts and am sure the examination has just aggravated things. Hold on in there and keep us updated x

batfuttocks · 30/01/2013 18:06

Big hug to camomile and Zeux (I know, not mumsnetty to hug). Hope you are getting lots of real life support. Shitty news.

Saggy: fingers and toes crossed for you. I hope just the erosion having been prodded about.

Kips: she must be pregnant. Otherwise she would have worked about being infectious. Poor thing.

I'm just back from longest booking appt ever, student did it. 1.5hours. I actually ate an apple in the middle of it all as the nausea was ramping up.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 30/01/2013 18:08

I'm so sorry zeux and camomile Sad

Readytosettle · 30/01/2013 18:14

Sorry to see more sad news today, really hopeful that there won't be more of us leaving the bus :-(

I got my maternity exemption certificate through today....seems a bit too efficient given that I'm only 6+1....tempted to book a dental appointment just for novelty value!

Just a note on the sex front, I've been feeling fairly up for it (when I'm not asleep) but actually found it really painful & sore do not a whole lot of fun....trying shallower positions, but it's not as much fun as it used to be - to think this time 6 weeks ago we were doing it every day!!
