New thread created in haste before the old one fills up!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SaggyOldPregnantCatpuss · 29/01/2013 21:06

I agree! After all this stress and worry, I don't care if its a puppy as long as it sticks!

Creamtea1 · 29/01/2013 21:08

:) catpuss and me!

fl0b0t · 29/01/2013 21:10

Haha, Poor you Creamtea! I feel a bit similarly- I don't plan to find out what we're having... it will not change how I feel or how I treat my pregnancy, and I hate all that "pink for a girl" crap so it won't change how we prepare! And yes, healthy baby is what matters. It's funny though- Women desperately TTC will naturally hate those of us pregnant but complaining (ie with sickness), those of us waiting to hear that we've cleared the 12wks safely get frustrated with those who appear to take things for granted..... We are an emotive and emotional bunch eh?

batfuttocks · 29/01/2013 21:19

The Doppler is some shitty thing I got off eBay! I was just about to give up when I heard the chechunchechunchechun that is so lovely! Wish I could have it on headphones all day.

I am 9+4 today so surprised to get it.

SaggyOldPregnantCatpuss · 29/01/2013 21:21

Grin it's the hormones!

amiready · 29/01/2013 21:52

batfuttocks sorry to ask but was just wondering where you tried to hear it? I've heard that you start really low down just above the pubic bone (i.e. in the actual hair area) but this seems too low? I tried to hear with one earlier today but wasn't getting anywhere but I wasn't sure if I was in the right place! I am only 8+2 though but I read that 85% can hear at 8 weeks (although that was a doppler sales website so could well be wrong!). Any tips on positioning??

Carriejayne, kitten, eek, no symptoms here either! It's quite normal apparently....

batfuttocks · 29/01/2013 21:55

I heard it from the left side, low down pressing in pretty firmly inside my hip bone and angling the head towards my bottom. It took me ages to find and I was told at scan I have an anterior placenta which I think was getting in the way of hearing it when I listened in the middle. Just keep trying every few days and don't panic if you don't find it. I only heard my daughters at 11+ last time, was amazed to find it today with such dodgy equipment! Also was bursting for wee so sure the full bladder helped Wink

batfuttocks · 29/01/2013 21:56

Was maybe an inch above pubic bone, but to the side.

SaggyOldPregnantCatpuss · 29/01/2013 22:00

As someone else said to me today, try not to get too worried if you can't find it. These gadgets are only toys. X

batfuttocks · 29/01/2013 22:04

Totally agree, some days you'll get it and others you won't. Definitely not reliable until you are 20 weeks or so, by which point you can feel them move anyway! Smile

sumrandomgirl · 29/01/2013 22:20

And plz can u add me to this massive list..
Looks like I wernt the only one staying In during November so I cud save cash for new year eve...turns out I stayed in coz was shattered, and now I know why.

This will be my 4th. I have a 17 yr daughter, 15 yr son and a 5 yr old son, all to same guy, who decided 5 months after I had my last sone that he was bored of me.
5 yrs later an I am pregnant with my boyfriends first child, and I can't wait. He has proven to be an amazing dad, making It through the horrid sleepless nights you get around 2/3 yrs old when they come out with all the excuses and cry for hours...
If he can make it through that and its not his child (and a fairly new relationship and he is 27 an I am 35) then he shud cope well with his own....well excited...

Due date 3rd Sept

Readytosettle · 30/01/2013 06:54

You know things are bad when hubby walks past the bathroom door & excitedly says 'Ooh got some movement darling?' and then gives you a little cheer when u say yes...

SaggyOldPregnantCatpuss · 30/01/2013 08:14

YAY for Ready's bottom! Grin

andadietcoke · 30/01/2013 08:50

Ready that properly made me giggle! Well done Grin

Kittenkatzen · 30/01/2013 09:13

hurrah for ready's bum! :o

to all the newbies

I really really really fancied marmite on toast this morning, so I stopped off and bought some on my way into work - have just sat down at my desk and unwrapped it - and it's all burnt :(:( I'm actually having to hold back tears I'm that gutted. Can't get out to get anything else either now

fl0b0t · 30/01/2013 09:20

I've got to know where you can buy marmite on toast to go?!

Waiting for my Dr app, xf pls for a morning sickness miracle cure.......

andadietcoke · 30/01/2013 09:23

Ha kitten I nearly cried on Sunday when our Domino's pizza came with a BBQ sauce not a garlic and herb one. Ridiculous.

Kittenkatzen · 30/01/2013 09:23

fl0b0t I work in central London, there are tons of lunch places that also do breakfast goodies to go :)

got my fx for your miracle cure!

Kittenkatzen · 30/01/2013 09:28

dietcoke I am trapped between wanting to cry my eyes out, and wanting to laugh at myself for being so pathetic! My colleagues obviously have no clue of the inner TURMOIL i am facing right now.........

Ooh, in other news, we told DH's brother and SIL last night - v exciting as SIL is 15wks pg so now I have someone to talk to in RL :). Think we might tell the parents this weekend if we can get to see them all in person.

jm233 · 30/01/2013 09:30

Starbucks do a really yummy cheese and marmite panini. It's not huge but it's super scrum!

Creamtea1 · 30/01/2013 09:30

Morning ladies
Seriously feeling awful the last 24 hours, nausea got 100% worse - I'm 9 weeks tomorrow so thought it would be getting better by now not worse. Literally can't move off the sofa and everything makes me feel sick, even just moving around! Before I just had bouts of it and then eating helped keep it under control, but now eating makes it worse - just really struggled through a breakfast bar thing. Arrrrghh...!! Any tips? Luckily I work from home so can feel sorry for myself in private :)
Also got to contend with DH sulking as me feeling so rough means no 'action' for him for a few days-frankly he's annoying me anyway!

andadietcoke · 30/01/2013 09:31

I'm having lunch with my mum today and don't know whether to say anything. On Sunday my parents and the in laws are all going out for dinner but I'm not sure about a big announcement. What to do?!

Eeeknumber3 · 30/01/2013 09:35

Welcome random...sounds like you have a good fella there. Congratulations, four eh, I take my hat off, I am scared at number 3! Sounds like you might have helpful teenagers though :-)
OMG the blinkin mums at school have organised a night out, will have to go or will look antisocial! I can't stay up past 9 and what about the no drinking?! Grrr..
kimjayne good to hear you were impressed with ultrasound now, I am going to them in Stockport on monday. Taking my best mate, as DH can't have time off and says he'd rather save hols for later ones, I think he's a bit more blasé about number 3! Did they give you lots of pics?

MrsMangoBiscuit · 30/01/2013 09:39

Creamtea, he's sulking after a few days?!? Wow, DH has had to wait a few weeks, today was the first day I didn't feel sick on waking, and if he'd been sulking he'd still be waiting. Sulky man-child is NOT sexy! I hope he's just having a quiet little sulk to himself and that he doesn't realise he's doing it, otherwise he's being a git.

The tip on the MN homepage reccomends smelling lemons. I know that smelling my lemon hand soap seems to help, maybe worth a try? I hope it passes quickly and that you're feeling better soon.
