sneezy thanks that's really reassuring. I think they were okay at booking, no comment was made then so I assume they were. I don't take pregnacare as swallowing tablets was making me throw up but I have vitamin d and folic acid liquid supplements that I keep on forgetting to take, I'll have to try harder to remember now that you've told me that....

SneezySnatcher · 16/01/2013 17:26

No problem! I did worry slightly but then thought if they were fine at booking then it was just a pregnancy thing. Everything I've read seems to confirm this. They are going to test them again in a few weeks though.

Mama1980 · 16/01/2013 17:47

Great news floss-have been watching out for your update. How are you feeling? Thrush is bloody miserable I hope it clears up soon.
I had another cuddle today, Alex is getting stronger by the day according to the drs. I cannot Imagine how I got so lucky Smile
I have seen and spoken to the lactation consultant several times and am pumping all the time now I am more awake even though it means throwing it all away. I cannot believe I miss the hell of the expressing room as I called it with ds1 but need people to talk too, real ones not just nurses who though lovely are focused on keeping me calm they seem to think I will break if they give me a straight answer. I'm not complaining at all and am very very grateful but I'm ok. One look at Alex and I'm more than ok Smile
I still feel likei am trapped in a strangers body i feel very disconnected from it, which may be good given the state of it right now. I am dreaming of a long hot shower though.

EssexWelsh · 16/01/2013 19:54

Great news Floss who knew your cervix could reclose, how amazing is the human body!

Also lovely to hear your updates Mama, so good to have your brilliant updates now! Hope your body catches up with your mind now Grin

Great news floss and mama

Sneezy I totally want some of that frolic acid. It sounds fab Grin.

Still got the bizarre and irritating itchy/dry/swollen 'down there' problem. Could be thrush but have had that before. Don't think it's the same thing but is just as bad. Also got red blotches on my left thigh.

I will raise it all with the doc on Friday but TBH I am now viewing anything unexplained my body does with mild indifference. I just attribute it all to 'general pregnancy weirdness'! Yes also to the itchy tummy and itchy breasts. It's itch central here really. How lovely!

Hope you are all OK. I might get over my shyness and join the FB group. Wasn't going to 'out' myself but am just too nosy to miss out on everyone else!

enjay0811 · 16/01/2013 23:31

Joined the fb group! Will have to figure out who is who now or perhaps post our usernames on fb. Can we do tht?!

Glad babe is hanging on in there floss

Have felt rotten today, headache, shattered, felt sick, so been in bed since 9 watchin obem and discovery health baby programmes! Makes it all so more exciting knowing tht we'll meet bumps soon! Grin

Wow, things have moved on lots!

Mama, so good to hear from you, and that you're both doing so well. Thanks for getting your sister to update us too, we were all worried and I'm sure the others would agree, it really did mean something to us that you got her to update us, even though we're just a random bunch of strangers on the internet! Even DP was waiting for news of you too. I hope you're not too bored in between your visits to Alex.

Floss, I've never heard of that either, well done your body! Hope you manage to enjoy your extra time off (the calm before the storm?)

Jaqueline, I know it's not what you wanted, but I'm actually quite relieved to hear you've intermitted. Much less stressful! I'm sure you would have managed it, but uni stress and young children is a tough combination! (Sorry, I know I'm stating the obvious!). I hope you're enjoying the time off.

Have sent FB request. How strange to see people in RL! You're all real people, not just words on a screen, who would have thought it?! Wink

Dysgu · 17/01/2013 00:44

Hello everyone.

I have also clicked to join the FB group ratbag

Glad to read that things have stopped flossie and that you have been discharged.

Lovely to read updates about you and Alex Mama - hope things just keep getting better and better for both of you. Well done for continuing to express, it must be extra hard when you are having to throw it away but at least it will keep the supply up for when Alex and you are ready.

Regarding moving - there have been times today when I have wanted this bump to stay still - I think it has sharp toe nails or something as it has been stabbing me when it kicks. I was watching my tummy bounce about this afternoon - the kids in my class are going to be spotting it soon!

Only 22 more working days until I start my ML- and there is half-term in the middle of that too so I get a break with my DDs before I actually finish. I am not sure I am looking forward to the school run each day but I am sure I can get a waddle on!

I was exhausted earlier - DDs had a party to go to at a soft-play place and I was nearly asleep there. Then I had a bit of a catnap for 20 minutes when putting DDs to bed and now I am wide awake again and will have to tell myself to go to bed soon as I have to be up at 6am (and DP might wake me when he gets up at 5am!)

DancingLola · 17/01/2013 01:38

Hi all, got a bit lost trying to find this new thread! Have sent request through for fb group too. Hopefully I'll be able to keep more up to date on there, I always seem to be on FB.

Not much to report here, I bought a moses basket & stand as argos had some on sale. Came to just over £30 in total so was quite pleased with that Smile Am planning to have it downstairs in the living room, think it will come in handy when I'm getting DS ready for school in the mornings - I've got a swinging crib for the bedroom but still need to get a new mattress & bedding. Keep looking at more things to buy, but waiting until DH gets paid (this month seems so long as he was paid early in December!) Been looking at baby clothes & thinking they look so small! DS was 8lb 8oz & newborn did fit him for a month or so, but I think I'm going to get mainly 0-3 months for this one as I have a feeling he will be bigger. So far I've only bought some sleepsuits, vests & socks.

Been feeling really tired the past few days, not been able to sleep until 3/4am & my energy is just nowhere to be found! I'm hoping it will pass. Baby is very active at night too, so I go to bed & it feels like he's dancing a conga! Am wondering if I might be a bit anaemic, so may get some iron supplements & see if that makes a difference to the tiredness. In a way I'm relieved I finished my contract last month, there's no way I could work like this!

Mama1980 Lovely to hear how things are with you & baby Alex, and Flosshilde glad to hear baby is staying put for the moment!

Right, off to try & get some sleep now.

Fluffeh · 17/01/2013 07:01

Aww fantastic news floss. Hopefully baby will stay put for a few more weeks.

Lovely to hear how well you and Alexander are doing mama.

I have no idea what I've done to it but my hip is evil. It started yesterday morning and really hurts if I put any weight through it or bend it while walking. I thought at first it may have been a trapped nerve but its hurting more today than yesterday :(.
I have loads to do today so I can't rest it, but if its still the same tomorrow I'll have to cancel shopping and go see a gp. It's like I live there atm lol.
Had to walk to Tesco yesterday and it must have been a funny sight for people. DP was trying to support me as I walked but because of my guide cane he just kept getting hit on the ankle lol.

Loving all the bump photos on the Facebook group. I find it harder to use Facebook than mn so may still stick to posting here more than there :).

Teapig · 17/01/2013 07:55

So great to hear that you and Alexander are getting on well mama.

Floss, it's great that baby is staying put a bit longer. I had no idea the cervix could re-close, the body is truly amazing.

I keep waking up wide awake at 4.45am and toss and turn for ages trying to get back to sleep. Then when my alarm goes off at 6.20am I find that I've fallen back to sleep and can't wake. It's a small thing but it's tiring me out especially as this week I'm working 8.30am-6.30pm and with my commute I don't get back until 8pm. DH is being amazing and doing all the cooking but I need the weekend now!

Hope everyone with discomfort has a better day today.

lutrinae · 17/01/2013 11:48

Agree with the itching. It's itch city on my belly lately!

I slept all through the night last night without waking up once - not even to pee. It must be some sort of miracle.

Ooh, birdbrain whereabouts are you? I live in Walthamstow and work in Kew.

vivien14 · 17/01/2013 12:58

Hi there, I'm a long time lurker on the site but thought I'd introduce myself and say hi! I'm suffering from a few things others have mentioned - particularly the insomnia, I just don't seem to be able to get comfortable enough to sleep at the moment!

Great to hear the good news about Mama's early arrival and that Floss's little one is staying put.

Afternoon all. Haven't posted for a while. This thread moves so fast I find it hard to keep up!

Mama glad you and Alex are doing well and happy to hear baby floss has decided to stay put for a bit longer.

Counting down the days to mat leave now six working weeks with a weeks holiday week after next. Anyone else lost all motivation with their job?

We are moving next week can't wait to sort out the nursery and Dd room. I haven't bought a thing yet!

For those on number 2 are you getting a new matress for the Moses basket if you are re using it or just using the same one. Mine has a kind of plasticky cover o it's completely sealed not sure what he current advice is?

Also requested to join Fb

photochick · 17/01/2013 13:04

Mama so pleased to hear your updates and hear that you and Alex are doing so well. We have been amazed at your strength and courage.

Floss its also great to hear that your baby has decided to wait a bit too!

I have had really itchy sides, goes away if I stick to an organic aloe vera shower gel. I guess my skin must just be hyper sensitive.

Had my 25 week appointment on Tuesday, all good and I am feeling very lucky (touch wood) that I have very few compliants to speak of. Plenty of issues with my DH family, that I shan't bore you with, but include my MIL turning round out of the blue and saying she is not now coming to see the baby because its "too difficult" which has left us all reeling. I know she has a lot on her plate right now and we are all getting over the loss of my FIL last October but it seems totally irrational and has left us very upset.

Hey ho, lovely to see you all on facebook and loving the bump pics! Not sure I want to post one as even my mother told me last night it was a strange shape Shock. Think my yoga muscles, which are keeping it quite flat at the front, are going to have to give way at some point!!

Trishstar · 17/01/2013 13:36

steph2412 · 17/01/2013 14:40

usernamegoeshere · 17/01/2013 15:27

Steph I'm having gtt in the morning, which reminds me I need to sort out a book to read. I hope it doesn't snow here, been quite lucky with it rest of week.

itsaruddygame · 17/01/2013 15:53

Crickey lots to read since yesterday!

I have just been to get checked out at the local day unit as have had very little movement since yesterday. Thankfully all good - they think he is hiding behind my anterior placenta and that is why I can't feel as much as usual. He normally gives me a good kicking several times a day so was a bit worried but feeling reassured now! I also had my urine checked again and it was clear of luekocytes this time so that is one less thing to think about.

I feel sorry for those with aches and pains - I have been pretty lucky on that front and can't complain. I did have a bit of back pain but saw a maternity specialist physio who sorted me out pronto. If anyone is North West and would like her contact details let me know and I will PM them. She really is excellent and very tuned in to preggo ladies bodily changes as it were Grin.

SneezySnatcher · 17/01/2013 16:17

Hello all. I'm absolutely shattered! I really could cry. I love my job but spending time with thirty kids isn't exactly restful, despite the fact they are all lovely.

Got another hospital appointment tomorrow (second this week) to check BP and urine due to +protein. I'm pleased they are keeping an eye on it, but I'm finding it hard to enjoy this pregnancy with the extra worry of getting PE again.

Moan over!

ILoveNoodles · 17/01/2013 16:49

Its so strange seeng all your faces on facebook!
cocochops I am using the same moses basket but have bough a new mattres.I would of bought one anyway but when I took the old one out of its covering it was quite dented-my son must of had a heavy heah!

ILoveNoodles · 17/01/2013 16:50

head obviously!

ratbagcatbag · 17/01/2013 17:35

Argh!! Had whooping cough jab last week, just had call from nurse, they used an out of date one on me by mistake so need another one in four weeks which puts me at the limit of 32weeks. It bloody made me sore as well and I'm worried that a double dose could be bad, as they ant guarantee that the first one won't work. :( gutted. Hate needles so much.

Will update fb group later when I've stopped stomping round. :(
