Cheer me up pleeeeeeese. Back in hospital and on a drip again. Took ages to get venflon thing in as my veins have disappeared with the dehydration. So quite sore, and have had injections too.

Midwife cheered me up a little by bringing the Doppler along. The very wriggly baby has a super heartbeat.

15 weeks

DaveMccave · 05/02/2013 20:16

Really sorry to hear that waves did you have HE with your other pg's? Great you got to hear the hb :) I've had a rubbishy hormonal day and a big argument with do over nothing (me being very unreasonable about not wanting to go with him to tell his family about the pg) and just before I had a sneaky listen on the doppler and its cheered me up loads.

Anyone have really different pg cravings to previous pregnancies? I don't normally have much of a sweet tooth but with dd all my cravings were v sweet. Pineapple fritters, then rice pudding, cream doughnuts and pink icing cream cakes and then lastly cadbury creme eggs which were like crack, and that craving stayed until I have birth and was v intense! I can't even watch someone eating one now! This time it's been orange juice, sour sweets, strawberry volvic water, pickled eggs, pickled cabbage, and the most intense which I've had a few times so may stick around is boiled or mashed potato with tinned (?!) peas and gravy. I've just had a big bowl and it was quite possibly the best thing I've ever eaten. I wonder if the sweet/savoury girl/boy thing tends to be true?

beckie90 · 05/02/2013 20:26

dave with ds1 it was Chinese and smelling fairy fabric conditioner Hmm ds2 was cakes and sweets. So completely different. This time it was fruit, then sweets, then buns. Now its just everything Blush

Awww waves sorry to hear your back in again. Lovely that you heard little ones heartbeat though, hold in there, hopefully things will get better soon. Pregnancy is so hard at times, whoever said you feel better by 13wk is a fibber lol, of course a lot of people do though xx

RememberingMyPFEs · 05/02/2013 20:31

Sorry to hear you're back in hosp waves hope they get you sorted out and you feel better soon.
I have MW appt tomorrow for 15wk appt and Doppler. Excited to hear DC HB. Can't fathom how I'm 15 weeks already :-/

GaryBuseysTeeth · 05/02/2013 20:38

Welcome Bejeena

Dave, first pregnancy I went off sweet foods (and had a boy), this time I'm off savoury (and convinced it's a girl).

waves, I'm sorry you're back in, but I hope you get some rest & can clear your head slightly.

Foof, thanks for the links...I shall spend some moolah once the scan is here.

Hurrah for your result Pennyapple!

Rugs, I sleeptalk/walk/argue & apparently I spent all of last night going 'Ooooh, it's blowing a right gale' in a Northen accent. Confused

Dh bought lemons home with him last night so we had pancakes! Hurrah!

waves sorry to hear your back in hospital again, hope they get you sorted soon so you can be back home with your children.

Back to feeling a bit rubbish, feeling sick and like I don't overly want to eat, but I can't really complain compared to what some of you ladies are going through.

I didn't have any cravings at all with DD, I had a aversion to pasta but thats all. I don't really crave any one thing for more than the hour in which I fancy it, when I want something I want to have it right then. I've gone off ice cream, my favourite clotted cream ice cream has been in the freezer since before christmas, it wouldn't normally last more than a few days, same with maltesers could usually eat them like there going out of fashion, of course these aren't bad things to go off but I'm finding I can't eat a proper size meal at the moment.

Glad you got your pancakes Gary, were they as good as you hoped Smile

Dexidoo · 05/02/2013 21:13

Hugs to those who are super spewy, I'm not feeling so sorry for myself now.

foof I bought a couple of bits in new look last week including some skinny wine coloured under bump jeans & bump bands. Don't think they are very generous- I'm a 14 and went for M/L. Just a tip for anyone looking for slim jeans H&M's were terrifyingly small- couldn't pull up size 16's!!

I'm counting down until Friday- NT scan and harmony results at London clinic. It will all feel more real once (fingers crossed) we are telling people our happy news

Sorry you're back in hospital waves, I hope they manage to properly rehydrate you, and you feel better soon.

Welcome Bejeena hope you're not feeling too poorly.

The New Look nearest me doesn't have maternity stuff :( I might have a little look online. I just got some Jojo Maman Bebe jeans on ebay for £2.50 though, that was a good result, they are in excellent condition too.

No particluar cravings here. I am eating more sweet stuff but then I've always got room for cake. Normally I exercise a degree of restraint, but when I'm pg, I say BRING IT ON!!!!

Stopsittingonyoursister · 05/02/2013 23:02

So sorry to hear you're back in hospital, waves. I hope they can get the drugs sorted out soon Thanks

foof good tip on the New Look maternity clothes. I shall wander in and have a look on Sunday as DS has a party in the afternoon so shall only have DD with me.

No cravings here now. In the first 12 weeks, it was cheese, cheese, milk and a bit more cheese. I am however completely off sweet foods. I don't eat lots of chocolate anyway, but just can't face it at the moment.

oxford if you're still reading the thread, I hope everything is OK with you.

LittleMissSnowShine · 06/02/2013 06:17

Hi bejeena!

Good tip on new look foof! Normal stuff is all starting to feel a bit tight and it would be nice to get a few new bits, esp at those prices :)

mrspenny - also love ebay! Just biught a jacket i thoyght wd be perfect maternity wear (tho its not techically maternity but just cut in a way that will accomodate bump!) brand new on ebay for a third less than it is in store!

dexi - yes h&m stuff is tiny! I ended up needing a few tees&things near the end with ds (another aug heat wave baby !) and i had to buy xL lol

waves - sorry you're back in again :( sometimes an IV is just what you need unfortunately. Hope its a brief stay and they find an effective cocktail of meds to keep it under control for you v soon. After being bed ridden Mon.evening and most of y'day im about to attempt work again today, even for a few hours. Wish me luck!

dave - im mostlt still in food aversion stage, any unexpectrd smells still make me wretch! But with DS i.loved pancakes, cream buns out of the bakery and sprite zero. This time i hate anything creamy and i have mad cravings for anything sweet - mr kiplings cake, haribo, fruit (at least last one is healthyish!). Im also loving the bland processed taste of dominos pizza, usually something i hate but i've eaten 2 in last 4 days. Whatever i can eat without throwing up after is fine with me!!

LouiseD29 · 06/02/2013 07:07

So sorry to hear you're in hospital waves. Hope things pick up for you soon.

A for cravings, I didin't think I'd had any, but then realised I've had Heinz tomato soup for three nights in a row and it's all I fancy again today. Does that count?

No maternity wear for me yet - I only got married last September (fast work on the pg, I know) and lost some weight for the wedding, so I'm hopeful that I'll be able to wear some of my slightly larger sized, pre-wedding clothes for a while yet and save some money!

I've always had to buy H&M trousers two sizes up from my actual size - they're always tiny!!!

LouiseD29 · 06/02/2013 07:09

Oh, and good luck with work snowshine!

OxfordToLondoner · 06/02/2013 08:24

Yay! I'm back!
After the most 2 excruciating weeks, sleepless nights and a lot of tears, my Harmony test results finally came back (i'd been given a high dievs risk & Harmony is a new blood test that avoids an invasive test(. Everything is absolutely FINE!!! The relief is overwhelming. Now I feel sooo excited! Can unpack my Isabella Oliver dress (superstitiously left in box) & went a bit mad buying vastly overpriced (but sale/gorgeous) baby outfits for next winter at No Added Sugar. Felt like a bit of a treat was due. I haven't been reading the thread (couldn't face it) but so happy to be back, and to hear about everyone's progress. Skipping with excitement.....

OxfordToLondoner · 06/02/2013 08:25

Downs risk. In excitement didn't preview!

RugBugs · 06/02/2013 08:44

Oh Oxford what fantastic news! I am so happy for you.

NT in an hour and a half, am getting ready to drink the required 2 pints of liquid. I am a tiny bit ocd and HAVE to wee before leaving the house, no idea how I'm going to hold my bladder!

RememberingMyPFEs · 06/02/2013 08:51

Oxford FANTASTIC news!!! So happy for you Thanks
rug I went to the loo when I left the house then drank a 750ml bottle of water on the way there. Worked a dream for me. Good luck x

beckie90 · 06/02/2013 09:23

oxford thats great news :)

rugs good luck with NT

Welcome bejeena

Just started doing the daily stetchmark moisturise. Put on 4st with ds1 and got a few on my bottom, ds2 I didn't really gain anything because I lost so I only gained the weight I'd lost back and didn't get 1. But got a feeling this ones going to change that, so trying to keep my skin nice and moisturised, don't think can really stop them, but help them.

beckie90 · 06/02/2013 09:25

Oh and the ladies that had NT how long did it take to get results? Mine only took 1wk last time maybe bit less, im so impatient lol x

Abilee90 · 06/02/2013 09:39

Rug i had too full bladder :/ they will make up there blooming mind :/
Good luck for scan :)

Waves you want cheering up, i was cooking last night and instead of cooking the chicken. I cooked the packaging for 45 mins in a garlic and herb sauce :/ dh was not impressed. Huge pregnancy brain fart :/

To top off my evening of mishaps i turned the main celine light on, and it caught fire :( scary stuff. God bless my dh for not panicing and me being a wreck.

Cravings still going nuts now on toasted pita bread dipped in sour cream and chive. Yumm :) baby has become a little kicker :)

Xxxx

MrsPennyapple · 06/02/2013 09:39

That's fantastic Oxford you must be so excited now!

Beckie I had my scan & bloods on Mon and the NT letter came through Tuesday so one week and one day. Pretty good I thought, but then our hospital is not a hugely busy one.

Christelle2207 · 06/02/2013 09:43

LexiLoganberryBump · 06/02/2013 10:36

oxford that's great news, I'm so pleased for you. How far along are you?

chocolatesolveseverything · 06/02/2013 11:14

Great news Oxford, and hope you're feeling a bit better soon waves.

Just checking in very briefly to say that the maternity jeans and work trousers I ordered from www.funmum.com have arrived (was paranoid that bump will hit sometime very soon and I wouldn't have anything to wear!) and they're lovely. They've also enclosed a 10% discount code which can be used by anyone in the next 21 days. The code is LLH0701 if that's useful for anyone.

I chose that website because they do a decent range of 28" trousers for shorties like me, but they also do normal and tall-sized ones.
