gary - we also need an infant carrier...seen some on amazon for more like £65 than £100 which is just as well cos i'd also like an isofix base. oh well at least we hav most other stuff.

cant wait to do a bit of outlet or ebay shopping too! i always need clothes in a range of sizes, im a 12 plus small bump but i was a 16 plus massive bump by the time ds was due.

hope yr scan went well beckie, your poor hand!!

parttimer79 · 29/01/2013 18:50

Had my scan today and saw tiny wriggly baby in there! Was put forward 3 days to 12+4 so due 10 August now. Overwhelming relief all round.

beckie90 · 29/01/2013 18:56

Hey all, sorry I cudnt update earlier my phones been stupid. I did get put back but I knew I would anyhow as my 12+6 was based on ovulated at 14 days, I knew I didn't ovulate till past day 16 because I didnt dtd anytime before that Haha, I was put back 3 days rather then 7 like the early scan said. All was well it was sooo cute rubbing its little face saw little feet got quite a while looking at it moving around cause she cudnt get measurments right with the bub been so busy. I've been put under shared care between consultant and midwifes and my NT measurment was 1.4mm. Now due on the 10th august :) xxx

LittleMissSnowShine · 29/01/2013 19:19

congrats beckie, 10th aug one day after me!

and congrats to you too parttimer :)

parttimer79 · 29/01/2013 19:20

beckie looks like our bumps will make an appearance around the same time. I feel bad cooing over my scan when so many people had bad news but it was so sweet looking at him wriggling away in there

ScubaSarah · 29/01/2013 19:34

Yikes to nub theory. My scan is quite clear and v suggestive that it's a girl?! Any nub theory specialists out there want to have a look and see if they agree?
Hadn't heard of it before but DH was waffling about the angle of the dangle the other day and is recently convinced we have DD on the way...

Abilee90 · 29/01/2013 19:55

Glad everything went well hun, put your pic up so we all can have a look. Hows the hand?

Starting to get annoyed sickness, even the mere thought of meat has me running to the bathroom :(

Xx

beckie90 · 29/01/2013 21:26

It's fine abi thankyou :) I don't know how to do it on my phone? I can't even find how to get on my profile Haha. R.e the nub I'm not sure if I'm looking at right thing on mine, if I am its hard to guess cause it goes up a lil tiny smidge but looks so different to ds2's

parttimer I know I saw your post after I posted mine n was like ahh a due date buddy. Lol.

Il check out your pick now sarah

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 29/01/2013 22:32

My scan is tomorrow, I kept getting a lurching sick feeling when I thought about it, but am weirdly calm now. At least it's early on so I don't have to dwell on it all day.

I am usually the most impatient person but haven't been at all curious about the gender. I'm sure it will come with time but I really don't want to find out, I would love a surprise.

beckie90 · 29/01/2013 23:21

Ive managed to get a photo up :) yay.

sarah yep nub looks like a girl.

I originally thought the highlighted bit near its leg was the nub on my scan but now I'm not so sure, I think its just to do with babys leg, but theres a fainter bit below that, that forks into 2, which I think may be it, its much more clearer on scan. Still I've no idea :/ xx

LouiseD29 · 30/01/2013 07:29

Congrats Parttimer and Beckie. I have my scan on Friday and I can't wait to get it over with! Feels like it is taking forever. Good luck anyone else with scans this week.

Abilee90 · 30/01/2013 08:37

Ijust- its my scan today also :) so blooming excited. Roll on 3 lol.
When are you due?

Snow u have the same due date as me :) have ypu told anyone yet?
I've told my adopted mum but noone else. Too scared, its silly really
Told dh mum at 6 weeks when we preg with dd but now we just seem to be putting it off.

Xx

Locketjuice · 30/01/2013 08:59

Abilee also have my scan at 3 today, eeeeek Grin

blondecat · 30/01/2013 09:27

Carrie, I am so sorry to hear your news. Please take care. On a million to one chance did you have a second scan? Its probably very clear to them what's going on but I remember reading that sometimes they get things wrong. But I guess perhaps not specifically on this. vlueless I will shut up as not being helpful.

My bloods came back ok. Or so I am told as noone seems in the slightest inclined to tell me what they were or what exactly they tested for. Show a woman her results? Never!
I am worried they are not great but maybe I am just generally worried

Bleeding stopped for 2 days then came back. Stopped for 1/2 day and its back again. I have spotted or bled for over 2 weeks now

On every scan the baby is ok. So far I was told
Blood comes from the cervix
No, blood probably from placenta
No, not from placenta but we found a fibroid so that may be it.

Clueless

The obgyn yesterday seemed more serious than mine. He checked the heart beat and took some ouch samples

The only thing more he could do was put me in hospital but it makes no sense so early. So I am supposed to rest and lie down as much as possible and avoid any effort. Apparently 1 1/2 hour at the zoo with Dd andDh was far too much for me
Can't imagine 6 months of this.

What's the nub theory?

wavesandsmiles · 30/01/2013 09:43

Morning all. I am off to my GP shortly to see if there is something to be done about the ongoing blackouts and vomiting. Taking a sick bag in the car as not sure I can get all the way there without a mini spew session Blush

blonde I hope you manage some rest - it must be worrying for you.

Good luck to those with scans. Is the nub theory a way of predicting gender early? If so, if anyone wants to look at the scan photo on my profile and hazard a guess, that would be fun. I need plenty to distract me from the poorliness, and the relationship (or non-relationship rather) issues that I am working through (or out of Confused)

DaveMccave · 30/01/2013 11:21

How did it go trenchcoat and abilee ?

I've always been interested in nub theory in others scans. Dds was too early at 10 weeks. In my experience, most scan pictures don't show it, or at least not clearly enough. I believe it is correct when clear though. I do t want to know the sex this time, bet I can't help but look though!

DaveMccave · 30/01/2013 11:23

waves hope the gp helps. How many weeks are you? Mine was extreme before, puking 20 times a day, v dehydrated. Midwife wanted me on mess but it suddenly stopped before I made the appointment. I hope it eases for you soon. Sea bands worked very well for me, along with Hugh dose B6 supplements and ginger capsules.

DaveMccave · 30/01/2013 11:24

Meds high bloody phone!

beckie90 · 30/01/2013 11:44

Good luck abi locket and ijust on your scans today xx

zippyrainbowbrite · 30/01/2013 12:30

Carrie so sorry to hear you news, and well done on staying positive.

I heard through a friend that an old work colleague (who had finally become pregnant after many years of trying and IVF) had miscarried last week and I spent an hour sobbing into the dirty laundry in the utility. I cannot imagine how heartbreaking it must be to loose a baby, and thinking about it scares me so much. I'm now at 14 weeks (and much calmer after seeing a wavy bean at the scan), so risk is much lower, but I still get panicked about it at times.

Can someone please explain the NT measurement thing to me? I had my 12 week scan a few weeks back, and had bloods taken afterwards, but no-one mentioned it at the appt? The scanner said the baby was measuring fine, but I just assumed that meant size wise for the dates?!

beckie90 · 30/01/2013 14:44

zippy I saw her do it and saw it was 1.4mm I asked her if that was ok n flead said yes its well in the range. It's also on a white price of paper in my green notes with the scan info. But that will prob be different in different locations. You get a combined risk through the post if all is ok in the following weeks after. If its a more urgent result they ring you xx

beckie90 · 30/01/2013 14:45

Flead ? What the hell lol was meant to say she said

blondecat · 30/01/2013 15:09

Good luck in the scans everyone.

Feeling a lot more positive today. I even managed to append a scan shot at 11 +2 to profile if anyone wanted to venture a nub opinion.

blondecat · 30/01/2013 15:10

Just made my first buy - a Doppler. So I can check the HB when I bleed. And freak out when I don't find it Wink

RuckAndRoll · 30/01/2013 15:35

hope all 3pm scans have gone well (and any other scans today!)
well I finally decided to ask my gp for help, he's immediately signed me off work for 2 weeks. work are not happy but being really good about it. I work away so am staying over tonight and driving home tomorrow. looking forward to some rest now.

this'll make you all smile, mil has requested we have a boy as sil had a girl a few weeks ago and she would like a grandson. dh wad biting his tounge from giving her a biology lesson!
