oh Carrie Sad
so utterly gutted and upset for you both
wishing you the gentlest of times on friday my love, and seconding the suggestion of looking on the other boards for support, those people kept me sane.
Thanks for you and yours xxx

parttimer79 · 28/01/2013 22:17

Carrie I'm so so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself and of each other. Will be thinking of you on Friday and wishing for it to go as well as it can.
Good luck to all the other scan ladies tomorrow.

kriskringlesh · 28/01/2013 22:47

Hey everyone 2 weeks until I get to see my baby properly for the first time I had a scan 3 weeks ago due to a bleed thankfully baby and heartbeat were there. Still anxious though as I seem to have lost a lot of symptoms ie tender breasts and nausea have disappeared but keeping positive as possible.

Sorry to hear your dreadful news carrie. Hope you have a good strong support network
Xxxx

MrsPennyapple · 28/01/2013 23:29

Carrie so sorry to hear your news. I had my fingers crossed for you as I know we had same due date and scans on the same day. I hope Friday goes as well as it can. You take care and be kind to yourself.

I feel bad following that up with my own scan news, so I'll keep it brief. All was well, little bean jumping around all over the place, and we got a nice picture. I think they have a new machine as the room was laid out differently to last time I was there (June, when the result was not good). Now they have an additional screen so you can see without having to break your neck turning your head upside down. I was really surprised how clear the picture was. They put me 6 days further on than my lmp date, making me 13 weeks, so due date is now 5th August.

Abilee90 · 28/01/2013 23:57

Carrie sorry to hear your news :( hugs.

Beckie its your scan tomorrow isnt it? Good luck :)

Sorry havent messaged anyone back been manic here at home last few days. Thank u all for making me so welcome.

Think i'm going nuts as i swear can feel the baby move :/

Symptoms have all but gone now. Same as my first. Really hoping for a boy this time as my partner would be able to cope with 3 women in the house, he needs back up lol. My scan is wed and i cant wait. Saw little bean at 10 weeks 6 days so now two weeks hoping for a better pic and actually having a longer scan.

Congrates on good scan news :)
Xx

Briarrosy · 29/01/2013 00:02

Am 13+3 and after thinking I was just fat I've now realised that all my chub is to the front, and it's actually quite firm... I think it may officially be a bump! I guess it's about time...

CarriePie · 29/01/2013 08:46

Thanks for all your thoughts ladies - it will be a tricky heartbreaking time and I'm just wishing Friday was here already so we can start to grieve properly.
The dr assured us it was a 1 in 1000 chance of happening and whilst there is a tiny risk it may happen again there isn't really any reason we won't go on to have healthy babies. I'm only 29 so hopeful for the future.
Good luck with all your babies - ill be thinking of you all in August and I hope to be back with good news one day.
Take care xxx

wavesandsmiles · 29/01/2013 09:08

My thoughts are with you carriepie, and will be thinking of you on Friday.

I am not so good - vomiting has ramped up a notch and realised when I weighed myself this morning I have lost another 3 pounds this week. Off to see my GP this week I hope - things with "D"H are critical and, if I am honest, irreparable. Causing a huge amount of stress which again I know is not healthy. Trying to stay upright at work in advance of a very big meeting. Wish I was curled up in bed!

LittleMissSnowShine · 29/01/2013 09:32

Congrats mrspenny! My scan last week was in same room with exact same layout as bad scan last summer and it nearly gave me a panic attack, couldnt look at screen til mw told me all was ok. Its worth the sress tho isnt it?

waves - sorry to hear that, i know how awful the vomiting and nausea is and im going thru it with a v supportive dh so i can only imagine how stressful this is for you. Take good care of yourself!

briar - yay congrats on the bump! Mine still feels a bit more like bloat than bump but im a week behind you and i am having trouble buttoning jeans and blouses so hopefully i'll hav something to show off soon too

carrie - again so sorry :( Thanks the pg loss boards on here are so great, really helped keep me sane too. Best of luck for your recovery from this and for a future bfp xx

After making it into work y'day DS was up all last night throwing up and v high temp so im off with him today cos dh has already taken quite a lot of time off with him while i've been sick and couldnt send ds to childminder like this. Not sure im the best nurse in my condition lol but hav just settled him down for a nap to catch up on zzz from last night. Might join him...wrecked!!

LittleMissSnowShine · 29/01/2013 09:34

Ps abi - i keep feeling little fluttery nudges and midwife said at scan on fri this baby was so active and had such long legs she wouldnt be surprised if i could feel it even at only 12 weeks so u never know! Surprised tho, couldnt feel ds til at least 19 weeks...

GaryBuseysTeeth · 29/01/2013 09:52

Congrats to everyone with good scan results & good luck to everyone today.

Carrie, you're doing amazingly well to be thinking so positively about the future/future pregnancies, again I hope Friday goes well & I look forward to hearing some good news from you when you're ttc again. xx

waves, I've just done a little post over on your thread, but all the other MN-ers are so much better with words....I can stretch to; you're bloody amazing, fantastic & talented & he's coming across as a massive arsehole.
Have you got people you can rely on for childcare incase your sickness is bad enough for the GP to want you monitored?

SnowShine, Abi, it feels like little gas bubbles to me (people usually say butterfly flutters, but to me it feels like doing a light fart internally!).
SnowShine, hope you & DS are feeling better soon!

Briar, hurrah for your bump!
I haven't told my mum yet, she's coming over tomorrow & I'm trying to hide mine (not telling her until scan).

12+3

Ditsy79 · 29/01/2013 11:26

Carrie - so sorry to hear your news. Hope all goes as well as it can on Friday.

Glad for those who have had good scans, good luck to those of you who are having them soon.

Although I haven't quite grown out of normal clothes yet, I decided to go shopping for maternity clothes at the weekend - just some trousers for work and some jeans. I was so disappointed with the tiny collections in the shops, was told by most places that it's best to order over the internet - but I wanted to try things on! Mamas and Papas had a better selection, but nothing above a 16, and I am an 18/20 in trousers (and under the consultant for being too fat!). The nice asssistant in M+P suggested we go to Cheshire Oaks (a Outlet place), as they had sent their bigger sizes there to go in the sale. I was thrilled when I managed to get a really nice pair of jeans for a FIVER - reduced from £38. Bargain!
Is anyone else having problems finding mat clothes in bigger sizes? Any tips on where to get them from?

Autumn12 · 29/01/2013 11:34

So sorry to hear your sad news Carrie.

I had my scan last week and all was well. I was brought forward one day, so my due date is now 6th August.

beckie90 · 29/01/2013 11:38

abi yea mines in 2hrs time. And I.totally get what you mean with been outnumbered but in my case its me that is lol, 3 boys in my house, n no doubt there will be 4 when this one arrives, I need some girl power.

Good luck to everyone having scans soon. I had so many dreams last night about mine, with dates been put back which I'm 100% sure will happen. Although I'd love to be put forward 3 days cause then id be due on OH birthday. But Ohh well.

carrie your in my thoughts and doing amazingly well, keep strong, I will be thinking of you Friday Thanks xxx

12+6 (soon to change to 12 ha

beckie90 · 29/01/2013 11:47

P.s keep having a nosy on the Sep thread there's already 2 ladys on there having twins. I wonder if there will be any august twins :) Defo none here, early scan only showed 1

RuckAndRoll · 29/01/2013 13:00

beckie don't joke! dh is convinced this is twins as a friend with 1yo twins commented our symptoms were almost the same.
suppose we'll find out for certain next Friday at the scan Smile

still feeling awful today, just trying to get through things day at a time. pain isn't bad today so it's a good day so far

Abilee90 · 29/01/2013 13:37

Beckie let us know asap :) good luck
My scan tomorrow and i'm so excited :)

Glad i'm not the only one who is feeling flutters. Baby at last scan was so active the lady couldnt get measurements.

I hope all you arent feeling to sick, i just got a rush of nausea :( bloody meat is making me cringe.

Does anyone believe in the nub theroy?
Xxx

beckie90 · 29/01/2013 13:39

Ohhh dear ruck I was convinced mine was quite early on. Good luck with finding out next fri :)

Just on my way for the scan. I've just burnt all my hand too, silly baby brains and lack of sleep had left me leaving the hob on after cooking lunch, I then put the kitchen towel on top of the cookernot knowing hob was on, it was on so low that I didn't even notice it either that is till I saw the towel, I picked it up to throw it outside, so its burnt all my hand, I feel so dumb n stupid. Got the worst migraine ever and was up all night with ds2 and then my OH because he's poorly n had such a temperature he was hallucinating, so now I've lost my marbels xx

Abilee90 · 29/01/2013 15:44

Keep checking to see if you have posted about your scan beckie lol. I'm excited for u. Lol about losing your marbles i still havent recovered mine since having my dd lol.

Hope all went well with scan
Xxx

wavesandsmiles · 29/01/2013 15:47

Hello, I'm hanging in here but off to the gp tomorrow morning in the hope that something can be done to resolve the blackouts and vomiting. Had been putting it off due to work commitments but had to run out of meeting twice this morning to be ill, and had a blackout too. It's not safe, and I need to get this sorted. Pity the gp doesn't give out miracle cures for stupid husbands but that is a whole other thread.

RugBugs · 29/01/2013 15:51

DOh! Baby brain well and truly kicked in now, went to the shop for two specific things and came out with neither of them Sad I want a bloody crumpet but can't summon the energy to get DD ready and go out!

Ditsy Isn't cheshire oaks fab? I am trying to put our next visit off until the Easter holidays when we will have just had 20wk scan and then i can go nuts in M&P! The gap outlet there is really good, i've been to the one in gunwharf quays in portsmouth and it's not nearly so good.

Gary I see we have the same carseat! DD will have grown out of it by the time next one arrives, she's almost at the top of it now at 2.2! I'm still undecided about whether to use it from newborn, if I can get away with not spending £100 on an infant carrier it would be nice!

Ditsy79 · 29/01/2013 16:25

Rugbugs - if you're looking for maternity clothes, they don't have them in the M+P at Cheshire Oaks itself, but at the retail park next door (near the big cinema etc). They also have loads of other stuff on sale there too. Not actually started shopping for any baby stuff yet - am being superstitious and waiting until after the 20 week scan.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 29/01/2013 16:37

Rug, we've decided we'll get it for when this one is forward facing, but because it's so bloody bulky (and I'll have a 20month old to keep old of) we're going to get an infant carrier just to make getting them in/out the car quicker/easier....good to know that it probably won't last until 4 for beanpole DS!
Ooh, just looked at Cheshire Oaks online, looks fab (Bichester Village is closer to us, but more designer than is worth atm), may have to arrange PIL to babysit DS so DH & I can go on a spending spree (for baby obviously).

Hope your hand isn't too burnt Beckie, I'm scared by the pure size of the Sept thread, but am lurking there as a few from the ttc group I was in are on there.

Abilee, I've looked into nub theory, but DS didn't cooperate at either scan so we didn't get a nub shot at all, if this one is healthy & cooperative we'll have a look!

Ditsy, had a look on google (put in plus sized maternity) and it was all really terrible stuff (the simply be stuff is so frumpy), ASDA, Matalan and Peacocks all go up to a size 20, I have some stuff from Peacocks & the quality is surprisingly good.

Abilee90 · 29/01/2013 16:54

I looked at my daughters scan and can see her nub and it is the way the girl's nubs are. I have my scan tomorrow so hoping bean will be good lol i will put my scan pic up if it is good :)

I bought a carset for my daughter that is form birth to 4 and i love it. I only sent 40 quid on it and its fantastic. She loves it. She even sat init on the plane to spain.

Xx

DaveMccave · 29/01/2013 16:57

Carrie So sorry to read your news. Don't want to raise false hope but have you looked into getting a second opinion,or the actual outcome for someone with microcephaly? I know someone who was told their babies head was too small at 20 week scan, and was advised to terminate. She researched and discovered microcephaly isn't necessarily life threatening so refused, and it turned out the baby had a normal sized head.
