JollyToddles · 09/01/2013 16:15

We won't be finding out the sex. We didn't last time either.

A waste of ££s when we'll find out at 39 weeks for free we figure!

We have an AngelSounds Doppler. Won't be getting it out until 16 weeks or so as I don't want to panic myself. One thing you need to remember is that they work best with some kind of oil or gel improving the contact. We used bio oil last time and it worked fine.

LexiLoganberryBump · 09/01/2013 16:16

Gary Could you pop me on the stats thread Lexi, dc1, due date 26th August.

weeweewee We'd like to find out the sex. We wanted to find out with our dd but she kept her legs firmly shut, we feel it's a boy but that based on pure guesswork, we're having this baby in a different area and not sure whether they tell parents or not.

RugBugs · 09/01/2013 16:28

Don't think we'll be finding out the sex, I like a surprise and all the guessing! If we do give in to curiosity we won't tell anyone that we know Grin

DP was chuffed when he found a Rolling Stones dress for DD once in H&M Gary, I really like their baby and young boys clothes.

CarriePie · 09/01/2013 16:35

I think id worry if I bought one of those hb monitor things. I would be using it far too often and would panic if I couldn't hear anything when probably all it would be is me using it wrong!

Q for you ladies:
Not impressed as just found out Dh has to take time off as holiday for my scans. I think this is so bad of his company - government legislation says that a company is not legally obliged but "encouraged" to allow partners off for antenatal appts. Does anyone else's dp/Dh have to use holiday?

GaryBuseysTeeth · 09/01/2013 16:38

Lexi, you're on the stats list! Four babies due on the 31st July & 4th of August, going to be a busy start to August!

Rugs, it's so hard finding nice stuff for a little boy I'm wondering if I just hope it's a girl so it's easier to dress (having said that, she'll live in Ds's castoffs mainly, he gets mistaken for a girl head to toe in blue).

green, 'glad' you're so ill & tired after your scare!!

9+4

greenj1 · 09/01/2013 16:44

I know I'm glad for the sickness and tiredness although I can't wait for 2nd trimester when it gets better! How is everyone dealing with ms? This is my 4th dc but its a big gap and I have forgotten how I got through it!! Xx

ScubaSarah · 09/01/2013 17:19

Gary 20lb+20lb - wowsers!! Were you underweight to start with? my BMI was 29 at the start so I was hoping with healthy eating to keep the gain lower :-/ I am a runner though so maybe once I feel well enough to get out running again it might help ?? That all said I'm jones'ing for a Dominos pizza tonight [cry]

Rug so sorry to hear about your coat - that sucks! Presumably they will have to send a replacement?

WeeWee we are going to find out the gender - we really don't care all that much either way - I flip on a daily basis which I want. DH wants to be gender appropriate with the cloud scheme - I want a DS to dress in pink dresses and a DD to play with action man but that cos I want to destroy the crap assumptions about gender we grow up with Grin

Foof I'm SO glad it's not just me with baby brain already - doing my nut in! I am an intelligent woman, not that you'd know it righ..., why am I here again?

LexiLoganberryBump · 09/01/2013 17:35

Gary Thank you.

Should of said that we don't mind either way what gender our baby is, we feel we're having a boy but we thought that last time and had a dd.

I'm the opposite I keep looking at lovely boy's clothes, little cardigans, blazers with elbow patches and gorgoeus babygrows with little collars that look like shirts.

Has anyone brought any clothing bits yet? We were looking the other day but felt a little early, settled on some bibs.

FoofFighter · 09/01/2013 17:35

SS yesterday i was tasked with throwing away one pair of OH trousers and putting another pair plus two shirts in the wash. No prizes for guessing how that one turned out Blush

Feeling quite grotty again, just making tea for OH and not bothering myself, will just pick at bits tonight I think.

ScubaSarah · 09/01/2013 17:38

Oh no - Foof that sounds like the kind of nightmare I would create for myself? was it recoverable?
Hope you feel better soon, it's no fun at all is it! I had vision of me being this natural earth mother who glowed and glided through the whole process - instead I resemble a crack-whore on a bad day most of the time! oh for a Wine

RugBugs · 09/01/2013 18:01

Scuba Thanks and yes, there was still one in stock which they sent using parcel force 24 today!
I was hopping mad and I'm usually so even mannered, the poor yodel driver who delivered DPs gap order this afternoon got moaned at Blush

I saw some amazingly cute boys babygrows in next, they have little dogs on them. I'm tempted to get both colours now but of course the next sale will be right before our babies are due!

RugBugs · 09/01/2013 18:02

Erm managed to delete a sentence! Next also have pink babygrows with kittens on.

Yvonney · 09/01/2013 18:13

Ok think I'm being blonde but I added myself to the list earlier and now I've disappeared?!?! Am I not allowed to play anymore lol?! I'm due 26th Aug DC 2

We're going to find out this time if its a boy or girl, our DS will be dying to know too. Plus he's said in the past he wants a sister so would be good to prepare him incase its a boy! Smile

LexiLoganberryBump · 09/01/2013 18:20

Yvonney We have the opposite, Have a dd who really wants a brother, although she did say to me earlier that girls rule and boys drowl (she doesn't know we're expecting, she's incapable of keeping a secret).

GaryBuseysTeeth · 09/01/2013 18:25

Sorry Yvonney, you're on the list now!
Wasn't trying to be stats thread King or anything, it's fine for anyone to post on it (just looks like I'm replying to myself atm), but so help you if you don't post yourself chronlogically

Lexi, will be getting buggy earlier than I'd like (ordering from USA, not sure if company has stocklists over here?) but not planning on buying much else until baby gets here.

Sarah, at least crack whores get paid for looking like crap, where are those lucky caahs that 'glow'?!
My bmi was 20.7 before DS (and exactly the same weight when I got pg this time too!), not sure why I put on so much...have put on 4lbs in the last week so I'll probably bloat out again! Mmmm pizza.

Rug, oooh was wondering when the sales would be on around August (aside from the bank holiday), damned if I'm paying full price for baby stuff!!

MrsWajs · 09/01/2013 18:26

Soo, weighed myself this afternoon and have so far put on 3lbs. Not sure if that's good, bad or indifferent since i've only known i'm pregnant for 2 weeks!! Ach well i'm not worrying about it anyway it'll be the last time for me so might as well embrace it!

Yvonney · 09/01/2013 18:30

Gary - yay thanks for that! I don't know how I disappeared? and I promise I put myself in chronological order lol Wink

beckie90 · 09/01/2013 18:51

I gained just over 4st with ds1 Blush liked my chinese food bit too much. ds2 I lost 1.5st in first 3 months. Bit out that back on in last 4 months. Went into labour weighing about same as pre pregnancy. And this time I've lost 4ib can't eat loads, I feel so full all time. I don't own scales no more:) x

EggyM · 09/01/2013 18:53

foof and scuba so glad it's not just me with baby brain- I thought it must be far too early on to be getting it but the other day at work I had an argument with my boss as I was convinced there was only 4 weeks til one of the deadlines. He was very confused and kept on repeating that it was 8 weeks. It took me a good few minutes to realise that I had completely forgotten February existed...

We definitely want to find out the sex- I am so impatient I want to find out now! Would so love a girl. But then I feel guilty for saying that as obviously I would be happy with a boy so long as it was well and healthy.

gary I would also like to find these 'glowing' women. I look bloody awful- am wearing so much makeup to work to cover the bags and spots (spots! not bad enough that I feel dog-sick all the time but I break out like a hormonal teenager at the same time) I'm sure someone will say something soon as I am not usually one for wearing much makeup!

mrswajs I've also put on 3lb but think this was only natural as I lost over half a stone through the sickness and I'm starting to eat a bit more now. Though still throwing up at last half of it...

FoofFighter · 09/01/2013 18:58

I suppose it's hard to tell what weight gain is just from xmas excesses though, I know I felt like I had put weight on in the last few weeks but this week feel a lot less bloaty/fat.

eggy wouldn't it be fab to slip a whole month, would mean a month less to wait!

Briarrosy · 09/01/2013 19:06

Edinburghers - I went for my booking in today and was chatting to the midwife about NCT classes. She was saying that some of them can be quite pressury about natural births, and if so to take it with a pinch of salt. She said the midwife-led ones are more likely to be realistic than ones led by e.g. a doula. I'm still quite keen to go to make mum-friends, but does anyone have any experience of which ones are the best?

FoofFighter · 09/01/2013 19:12

You can make mum friends in loads of other (free!) places :) I'd save my £250 for something else lol

I know a lot of people here knock Netmums, but for local stuff and meet a mum/ Netmums meet-ups it's really the best. Then of course there are baby groups, meeting the mums on your ward, baby clinics, breastfeeding groups, massage classes, aquanatal, preg yoga etc etc
