ScubaSarah · 25/01/2013 07:31

Good luck with all the scans and tests today!!
Foof did you make it out of Scotland yesterday?

RuckAndRoll · 25/01/2013 07:51

crossing fingers for healthy little heartbeats today Smile

if the weather forecast is anything to go buy, we'll be snowed in by lunch time, i'll just have to spend the weekend in pjs relaxing - what a shame!

LittleMissSnowShine · 25/01/2013 09:04

Hospital appt is at 11..stressing a bit! Prob with being nervous the queasiness has returned, dreading getting out of pjs and having to make my way over to meet DH at hospital Confused

stopsitting - ditto with the trousers and boobs are also getting bigger by the day so a lot of shirts and my coat and stuff are tight across the chest too. And this is with constant nausea so not eating much - hate to see how massive i'd be already with normal appetite! def time to dig out some maternity stuff!! And baby brain is in full effect here too lol

lexi - that's awful, it's not nice to have someone come between you and your mum. I haven't had flu jab yet but I might go next week when I'm 12 weeks. I didn't get it with DS because there was a lot of chat about how drs weren't really certain that it wouldn't affect baby etc. but think i will this time round

dave - it is pretty cool not being sure whether you're having a boy or a girl until the dr / midwife announces...it's a boy/girl! That's why i'm half tempted not to find out again but i do think it would be nice to be able to tell DS whether he's having a brother or sister so...

Ooh, i'll report back this afternoon hopefully with good scan news, fx fx!

wavesandsmiles · 25/01/2013 09:49

Keeping my fingers crossed for good scan news (and maybe more pics?) later today. Started this morning with vomiting and so stressed with work I am half inclined to quit. Well, I would be half inclined if we didn't have a huge mortgage to pay each month...My boss and I are in conflict over a major issue which is making things pretty yuk. Spent about an hour last night sobbing on DHs shoulder over the whole thing Sad

In terms of finding out the sex, I didn't with my first, and it was a wonderful suprise (DS) but then I did with the second to see if we needed to consider buying new things. That one was pink, so I feel really quite lucky to have one of each. I am not remotely bothered about finding out, and would really like a surprise, but DH wants to know, and all the children do as well, so we shall see. I am hoping for a very non-compliant/prudish baby at the 20 week scan so we don't get the option of finding out Smile

It's Burn's night today is it not? Hope those of you there enjoy the celebrations [bgrin]

Dexidoo · 25/01/2013 10:43

On the train to London- off to Harley St for scan & harmony bloods.

Fingers crossed for everyone being scanned today xx

10+3

beckie90 · 25/01/2013 10:59

Good luck to all having scans today :)

I want mine now Haha, oh well only 4 days to go

Re finding out the sex, I'm really in 2 minds, I found out with both DS's but ds2 I knew he was a boy so I said I didn't need to find out but OH wanted to. This time I don't know, cause I'd love to know what it feels like when its a Suprise, but curiosity is getting better of me too, I seem to have a feeling its a girl but deep down think it can't be cause oh side all boys, so I want to know for that reason

12+2

GaryBuseysTeeth · 25/01/2013 11:02

Good luck all the scanning ladies! Slightly jealous that I'm not being scanned for another 2 weeks!

If anyone else is growing but not into maternity wear yet M&S have quite decent Bootcut & straight leg jeans for £12.50, like most M&S stuff the cut is very generous (and on the bootcut, the waist is high) so they're quite comfortable!

dave, DS was taken straight away to be checked over (irregular heartbeat, cleared up when he was born) so we didn't know what he was for the first 4/5 mins of life!
It did help me with pushing at the end, DH kept saying 'you need to push or we won't know what it is!'.

waves, sorry things are so crap at work atm. Hope you can sit it out until ML (and then find a kickass job in the meanwhile), glad DH is being so supportive.

11+6

RuckAndRoll · 25/01/2013 11:05

Lots and lots of scans and tests today, hope you all get better answers than me. Just back from the drs to discuss meds I was taking before I got pregnant, came off as soon as I knew as they're not safe to continue, but I'm still in so much pain the dr isn't happy.

Got to go see the consultant. Annoying thing is GP can't/won't make the appointment so I have to phone the midwife and explain what he said and get her to make the app for me.

Current challenge, get the midwife to answer the phone!

LexiLoganberryBump · 25/01/2013 12:09

ruck I was advised to wait till I was 12 weeks before having my flu jab, have no idea why though so will get myself booked in.
Hope they find some meds that suit you and baby.

There's lots of scans and tests today, still haven't recieved my date yet. Is it to early to chase it updo you think. I'm 9+5 so still a good 2 weeks but would really like to advanced warming for DH.

Sorry if I've already said this. We didn't find out with DD because she kept her legs firmly shut and it was wonderful not knowing the gender when I gave birth, the midwife didn't tell us the sex she said for me to look and see which felt even more special. We're not bothered what we have, a healthy baby is of course the important thing, my DH would love a son and if it's not a boy then I think it would be good for him to get used to the idea before teabags born as he's convinced it's a boy so think it would come a a shock if there were no boy parts.

JollyRedGiant · 25/01/2013 12:44

I've not got a scan date yet and 10 weeks today. MW said to phone her if we haven't heard by 11.5 weeks.

I'm not all that fussed about getting NT though, so if it's too late for that then it's not a problem for me.

Jollymummy2 · 25/01/2013 13:57

Woo hoo have a healthy happy little bean.
Had a scan this morning as have been having some pains, and had a previous ectopic.
All is well, and they even pushed me forward by 5 days which is always niceGrin
So new date is 11th August, although last 2 were born at 41 weeks so I'm thinking more like 18th.
So this weekend we get to tell our families. Our DD aged 5 1/2 is going to be so excited. Grin

MrsWajs · 25/01/2013 15:22

I'm the same Jollyred still no date here either and 10ish weeks between tomorrow and Tuesday(!)

JollyMummy Yay for healthy bean :) And it's always god to be a bit further on than you think!

Anyone else snowed in?? I've had to cancel dinner with my SILs tonight because of the bloody white stuff and yet tomorrow I will be expected to make an attempt to get to work - so frustrating. It hasn't stopped since I got up this morning, we must have at least a foot now.

Christelle2207 · 25/01/2013 16:41

any news from snowshine? Fab news jolly mummy

(almost) all good chez Christelle. Our litttle bean was in the wrong position to took ages to scan and we haven't got a particularly good pic, but all is well. We thought we were 12+3, she initially measured him as 12+4 but then came back and said he was actually measuring as 13! I don't think that's possible as I know when I ovulated that month as I was having scans from the fertility team. So maybe he's just big?

So new EDD is 2nd August!

Had to wait ages to have bloods taken for the NT test which was annoying but the NT measurement was 1.9mm - that's good, right? They will let us know our risk factor in the next couple of weeks.

Only minor niggle was that sonographer picked up a "minor bleed" in the placenta. She said I would probably bleed a bit of brown blood in next few days/weeks and that it would most likely clear itself up in next few weeks. She said this was very common - anyone else seen this? I suppose it's better to be prepared, if I get a small bleed now I won't just panic! (or at least, hopefully won't panic).

Off skiing tomorrow anyway, snow permitting. It is snowing here at the mmoent but not sticking as yet, fingers crossed it's not as bad as they make out. Luckily we live on a main road so we should be able to get out ok. hope everyone has good weeks xxxx

LexiLoganberryBump · 25/01/2013 16:43

jollyred I'm just being impatient then and it's normal to not have a date yet.

littlemiss It's not nice, we used to be close but not anymore, he's really come between us.

jollymummy congratulation on your scan Smile

chocolatesolveseverything · 25/01/2013 17:12

Christelle and Jollymummy - congratulations on your scans, and fx for other people who are having them today as well. It's nice to hear about all the healthy little beans!

ruck - hope you get your meds situation sorted. Pregnancy's bad enough without additional pain.

I told a few colleagues at work yesterday. The closest ones had all guessed ages ago (with good reason) but it was a surprise to some others. Everyone keeps commenting about how I'm not showing at all, but whilst my waist is creeping out slowly, other MN threads I've seen suggest that for a first DC, it could easily be 20wks or more before it becomes obvious. Does this sound right to those with previous experience?

Oh, and how bad is this??? An acquaintance on facebook (whom I confess to occasionally finding a bit boastful/superior) today posted a scan picture of their unborn niece. My secret reaction? I immediately got out my (7!) scan photos to compare - deciding that my baby is MUCH better looking! Don't know what came over me. I'm not normally that competitive/bitchy Blush.

And honest - I've not been doing that with anyone else's scan photos! (Must have deeper-seated issues with this person from years back than I was aware of...)

OP posts:
RugBugs · 25/01/2013 17:33

Hurray for good scans!

ooooh Chocolate your friends unborn niece so not even their own scan pic? Maybe I'm a bit odd but I will not be posting my own scan on fb, if my siblings posted it i think i'd go a bit nuts.
But then again last time i was pregnant I didn't put it on fb at all, the sudden influx of photos of me tagged with a newborn confused many ha!

chocolatesolveseverything · 25/01/2013 17:47

Grin for surprising your friends rugs.

I'm not sure how much I'll put on facebook yet. I use it to keep in touch with a lot of people I care about so will want to put up ongoing news. However, there's a part of me a little bothered about being too detailed with news of the pregnancy/birth/childhood, because how do I know what facebook will do with that information 20 years into the future? It's all very well putting up stuff that might embarrass myself, but DC is a whole other person who may have their own thoughts on online privacy in the future. I'm possibly overthinking this...

Dexidoo · 25/01/2013 18:24

Positive news from me too! Scan showed 10 week bean wriggling about frantically. Blood results back in 2 weeks.

Scan pics on Facebook is a tricky area I think. I hid a few friends after my mc as I just couldn't cope with seeing it all. Everyone is different but I'm not sure I'll post any, prob just make an announcement once 20 week scan done. The people who I actually see will know before then.

LittleMissSnowShine · 25/01/2013 18:40

Congrats to jolly and christelle on great scans Grin

Good scan for me too! Photos a bit rubbish because out little beanie is very active and was spinning and wriggling and kicking all over the place. Poor MW tried for ages to find a better angle or encourage baby into better position but we saw loads on the screen. Looks very like his/her brother, all long legs and very active. No wonder I was convinced I felt kicking the other night! Got a referral to physio because I had bad spd the last time so they are trying to resolve that before it becomes an issue and my next appt is in 4 weeks, tho I'll get my blood results in a day or two. Have decided not to have quadruple test too. I also have a new EDD of 9th August!

Hi to everyone else, just going to read through thread and see what else I might have missed today - hope everyone's well!

LittleMissSnowShine · 25/01/2013 18:43

Oof also congrats to you too dexi! On phone so harder to see whole thread!

LittleMissSnowShine · 25/01/2013 18:46

And...updated stats thread (included you too moonflower!)

EggyM · 25/01/2013 18:53

Thought I would check in after a few days off- I am so tired and am pretty much going to bed straight after coming home from work every day!

Congrats to everyone on their scans in the last day or so Smile

snowshine and stopsitting also starting to grow - considering I've lost almost a stone because of morning sickness the size of my belly is quite impressive - though maybe just to me - I'm not sure anyone else will notice! Can't stop rubbing my tummy though!

Mrsd77 · 25/01/2013 19:14

Great news on scans today!! I told my boss and closer colleagues today. It's made it all quite real!

Would someone be good enough to add me to stats please? Dc2 edd 1st August.

Christelle2207 · 25/01/2013 19:40

great news snow ours was the same we were there for ages!
