MrsPennyapple · 17/01/2013 12:26

Mmm, sausage rolls!

Jollymummy2 · 17/01/2013 12:49

Oooh really fancy a bacon and avocado baguette. Shame I have none of the required ingredients Hmm

Had a plate if roasted parsnips yesterday for lunch as that was all I fancied!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 17/01/2013 13:18

I have good news thank god, had the scan and immediately saw a proper baby on screen measuring about 91/2 weeks which is exactly what I thought it should be, about 3cm long and having a wriggle! I could not stop grinning! I bought the scan pic but it's not much to look at, just a grey potato shaped lump in a black circle. But it's MY potato and I love it! Grin I'm sooo relieved.

FoofFighter · 17/01/2013 13:20

awww congratulations on your potato :)

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/01/2013 13:27

mrswajs - aww, wedding planning! fun! I'm sure your friend is fine, probably just in baby gaga land :)

james - hurray!!! I was like that at scan at 8 weeks - at 6 weeks there was nothing to see but there was a really clear little heartbeat blip. 2 weeks later the baby seemed to have quadrupled in size and was just a blob lol But really looking forward to getting a potato shot of my own next week!

foof - re Olbas oil while pg: community.babycentre.co.uk/post/a2921495/olbas_oil_a_big_no I know, surprising, isn't it?

jolly - wish it was roasted veg i was craving!

Just texted DH and requested he do a bakery run and nip home at lunch time with some sausage rolls for me. Being housebound has (some) perks!

Briarrosy · 17/01/2013 16:02

Just back from 12 week scan and all good too!! Didn't let her turn on the screen till all measurements were made but there it was, cartwheeling away and Kung-fu fighting. NT was 'nice and thin' apparently (better than the 9mm it was last time) but need to wait for bloods still. Thanks for all the good lucks!

James, congrats too! Fab news.

FoofFighter · 17/01/2013 16:46

Really pleased for you Briarrosy :) must be such a relief.

blondecat · 17/01/2013 17:14

That's great news Briarrosy

I had another scan today and saw a little swimmer. Very happy as it was an unscheduled, emergency one

I got up this morning, sneezed and had a whole lot of dark blood and clots come out. DD saw it all but luckily thought it was from my nose so brought me a tissue.

Baby is fine and there is no explAnation according to my doctor so I am off for a second opinion and another scan tomorrow. Then a nt scan Monday. Confused

Need some hand holding but DH is at work. I never felt so far from friends and family.

Briarrosy · 17/01/2013 17:24

Aw Blondecat, that's rubbish, but great to see your little swimmer is still swimming away. How strange... and the doc had no clue what it could be?

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/01/2013 17:38

blonde - sorry you're still having clotting and bleeding, but good news baby seems to be doing ok. Hopefully nothing serious causing it and it will settle down for you. I was told when I was having early pg bleeding and they brough me into EPU for a couple of scans that they can rarely tell the exact cause of bleeding in first tri cos everything is so small, later on they can pinpoint where the bleeding is coming from more exactly, but maybe your second opinion will shed more light on things. Your DD is very cute!

briarrosy - great news for you too :)

So sick today! Same as everyday really but haven't even been able to have a shower and wash hair since Tues. Miserable :( A friend who is about to move to Australia was going to pop round this evening just to say goodbye but i've had to put her off because i haven't been able to get out of pjs or out of bed all day. Thoroughly fed up with HG :( :(

FoofFighter · 17/01/2013 18:41

Littlemiss, if she's that good a friend then she won't care that you are messy, give her a ring xx

Bondecat - that sounds worrying doesn't it? have you had any more since?

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/01/2013 18:58

foof - I know she won't mind at all, but the HG really is at its worst at the minute and I can barely lift my head. Normally when you're feeling sick or a bit down seeing friends gives you a real lift. When you're at the peak of HG the only people I can cope being around are DH and my mum!!! Oh well.. it will pass...eventually...

bra back extenders, thought some might be in need of something!
Littlemiss Sad

Boosiehs · 17/01/2013 19:30

Extenders aren't enough for me! I've gone up 2 cup sizes. It's really rather annoying and I'm reduced to wearing really ugly unwired bras. :(

ScubaSarah · 17/01/2013 20:04

Great news on scans and swimmers!!

Hot Milk do decent non-wired bras that will do through and incl BFing

ASOS have them on sale

On app on iPhone so can't pretty it up, sorry

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/01/2013 20:26

I had a fab hot milk nightie the last time round :)

Bravado bras are amazing - they have pretty ones but also super functional utilitarian ones and they are soooooo comfy and also brilliant for bf :) www.bravadodesigns.com/shop/uk-en/maternity-and-nursing-bras-and-tank

RuckAndRoll · 17/01/2013 21:26

Congratulations to those who'd had scans, I'm very very jealous! Another 3 weeks until mine.

My sore boobs and sickness are a lot better now which is slightly scary as I'm panicking it means something is wrong.

As of next week I'm away from home for 4 days a week for work which sucks, hopefully it'll make the next few months fly by as currently time is dragging.

JollyRedGiant · 17/01/2013 21:44

I have no idea when my scan will be. Not heard anything yet but the midwife was suggesting the hospital give very short notice for scan dates.

Hot Milk bras are too small for me. Last time, when my milk came in, I was a K cup. My boobs are already growing this time but hopefully won't get as big. Last time I had loads of issues with oversupply and had to use breast pads overnight until ds was 9 months. In the very early days I was constantly in puddles of milk and could leak enough to fill a bottle in 30 minutes.

Am feeling a bit more positive about things now as I've been marginally less nauseous in the past few days. We have started making changes to our house as ds will be moving bedrooms. DH wants to have something to focus on I think rather than worrying lots until the first scan.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 17/01/2013 21:55

((Blonde)) must be so very stressful for you, hope all the scans in the next few days go well & the bleeding stops soon.

Snowshine, hope you're feeling a little better soon...and DH continues to bring you sausage rolls.

Congrats to everyone who had good scans today!

I've put on 6lbs already and most of that must be on my feet, can no longer fit the widefit boots I bought post-DS.
So I'm going to have extra extra wide feet by September Hmm

Hope everyone has a good Friday & avoids slipping over, I think DS & I will stay in until we know how bad the snow will get here.
What's everyone upto this weekend?

FoofFighter · 17/01/2013 22:30

No snow here.

Was supposed to have been going to Lossiemouth which is 5 miles away on the ocast (NE Scotland) to see the aurora borealis tonight but friend's car has stuttered to a stop! Sad

No plans for the weekend but am going away the back end of next week down to England-shire Wink for my DDs wedding Grin can't wait!

FoofFighter · 17/01/2013 22:31

everyone's really quiet today...

ScubaSarah · 17/01/2013 23:59

Thanks for sorting the link Foof. Apologies for radio silence but I've been reading the MIL-DIL thread in AIBU ShockShockShock makes me really appreciate my MIL that's for sure

I'm bracing myself for the 10+in of snow we're forecast for tomorrow and won't be doing my 200mi commute Grin

Hope everyone's doing ok today x

LittleMissSnowShine · 18/01/2013 07:45

foof - Yes I saw that you were supposes to be able to see northern lights in scotland and NI last night but in Belfast anyway it was completely clouded over and bucketing rain so I don't think visibility would have been great from here. Not that I would know, tucked up watching more bloody Greys Anatomy!

scuba - ooh must go and check that AIBU thread out..

gary - no plans for weekend beyond seeing acupuncturist this morning - I haven't driven in a few weeks cos of feeling so sick and dizzy but no other choice this morning cos it's in an awkward part of town to get to otherwise but luckily doesn't sppear to be much snow or ice here yet... What5 are you up to?

ScubaSarah · 18/01/2013 08:09

Littlemiss it's in AIBU and called "sons wife and my grandchild". Special!!
