Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I eventually worked out how to upload my scan photo onto my profile if anyone is curious...
Apart from Foof has anyone else done that yet?

CarriePie · 18/01/2013 10:15

Aah sarah your scan pic is so cute. What a great picture!
My scan isn't till the 28th but I will try and add the pic to my profile after.

I was bed bound yesterday with a horrible headache that isn't completely gone today. I can cope with all other symptoms my bean throws at me but headaches just completely diabilate me!

I weighed myself this morning and have lost a lb! Crazy! Yet my trousers are a bit more snug than usual. I think a lot of my chubby was down to too much alcohol! What a bad thing to have to admit!
At my booking in my mw put my BMI as 29 and 3 quarters so I didn't have to do the glucose test. I was supposed to be 30! Thought that was nice of her I thought.

So nice seeing everyone's scan pics and hearing all about them. The buns are certainly cooking!! Grin

beckie90 · 18/01/2013 10:38

Congratulations to those that's had scans :)

blonde so sorry your having a tough time.

Lots of snow here, and its so cold, hate been cold I get maungy ha. I've got my scan in 11 days so I'm on countdown really looking forward to it, but worried at same time something won't be right :(

11+2

blondecat · 18/01/2013 11:25

90 minutes till the consultant appointment

I am going slightly nuts. I don't know if I want them to find something or leave without explanation. I guess whichever means better news for the bean.

wavesandsmiles · 18/01/2013 11:30

Scubasarah my scan pic is on my profile too Smile

I'm having a stressy day - away for work yesterday and today and now both airports (here and back home) are shut because of the snow Sad. Really hoping that they reopen by this afternoon or evening as I want to be at home with DH and the DCs!

Thinking of you blonde - hope you get good news for the bean

LittleMissSnowShine · 18/01/2013 11:52

Good luck blonde!

Loving all the scan pics :)

Had acupuncture this morning - cant say I am miraculuously healed but I do feel a bit better. Going again on Monday anyway cos apparently having your first two treatments close together makes it more effective. Well we'll see anyway...

BrieMonster · 18/01/2013 14:51

Good luck blondecat I hope whatever happens makes you feel better!

Great news you scanees.. It's such and anxious wait the few weeks before huh?

I have to see a consultant (ages away) since DS was born by emergency section. The day after they said I could have a vaginal birth next time and then months later they reviewed my notes and recommended CS again. So I imagine they'll say the same this time but just trying to get my head around whether I want to give it a bash or not. Right now i feel i can't handle the pain of labour, yet I hate the thought of knowing the birthday in advance! Maybe someone can remind me that surgery was also painful!!

Hope you get home ok waves.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 18/01/2013 14:57

to you waves. Hope you get home.
Hope everyone else is safe in the snow too, DS & I have had a snow day, although he's delighted to be shouting at the snow from the window.

Good luck Blonde!!

Hope you feel better soon Carrie.

Stupid question...has anyone felt more broody since being pregnant? I feel like I need to get this baby out the way & have MORE babies. DH thinks I'm being a bit weird, but I want to blame the hormones!

10+6

Christelle2207 · 18/01/2013 14:59

Good luck to all those with scans. Mine is this time next week :-)
Sorry that blonde has been having a tough time, hope there's more reassurance today?

At the risk of sounding like I'll worry about anything and TMI warning I have a question. I really do have quite a bit of discharge. Not remotely bad looking or smelly or bloody but a reasonable amount every day (enough to wear a panty liner) and is white/yellowy in nature, a bit like EWCM from ttc days. This has been pretty consistent since before finding out I was pg so hasn't got worse or anything, just wondering as I find this pg lark quite confusing, don't know what is good and what's bad!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/01/2013 15:23

Sounds normal Christelle, don't worry. Later in pregnancy it'll probably be replaced by lovely(!) milky white cm called Leukorrhea. Just another thing to make us feel sexy and appealing. lol

Feeling sicky today after thinking my ms was mostly over. Baked some ginger biscuits but they haven't helped, in fact I think they made it a bit worse Hmm

blondecat · 18/01/2013 16:01

Thank you for all the good wishes

I have great news - the bean is doing great. It's just 2mm too small to do the NT but we saw a good heartrate, nice blood flow, nasal bone and ellipsoid rather than round skull - all great plus a NT of 0.9 which is good too

Oh and it's too early to say and it could be anything but there was Something between the legs. Uh oh

The consultant agreed with me that CVS is a no-no given the bleeding and offered the non invasive test if the combined results next week were to look worrying.

The not so good news is that she thinks the bleeding does come from the placenta. There was no SCH but small bleeds can heal quickly. So no flying until 22 weeks at least and no lifting DD. and frequent rest.
I can live with the latter but the former suck. I was so looking forward to seeing friends and family and just visiting the Big Smoke again.
And poor DD will graduate out of cot sooner than planned.
Oh well.
Froggy is well. Anyone with PC access happy to add me to this list ?

Blondecat DC2, 9 August

BrieMonster · 18/01/2013 17:08

I think I added you blondecat but then again I thought I added me yesterday. Not sure when I became so IT-illiterate.
I had to get DS out of his cot early too but he loves his big bed! I just pile cushions next to him just in case but so far so good.

Ditsy79 · 18/01/2013 17:34

blondecat - glad your bean is okay, must be such a relief.
I went for my first scan today, and the baby is doing fine - now dated at 11+3, so I have updated myself on the stats list.
It was a bit of a palaver at first, as the sonographer couldn't see much with the abdominal scan - apparently my womb tilts backwards, and the full bladder made it even harder to get a clear pic of the baby to do the measurements. So I had to have the transvaginal ultrasound instead (I was petrified!), but it did give really clear images on the screen. We could see the baby kicking about, the facial features, and really detailed images of its hands and feet. All pretty amazing! I have put one of the pics on my profile.
It all seems very real now - going out with DH for dinner tonight to celebrate!
Hope everyone else is doing okay.

LittleMissSnowShine · 18/01/2013 17:36

blonde- woo hoo!!! Congrats!! I was told more or less the same, just to take it easy and be very vigilant about bleeding - and like you I'm not really lifting DS much, especially if he's squirming. Can't avoid lifting him in and out of car but trying not to do much more than that - can't remember how old your DD is but DS is 28 months so he can manage stairs and stuff by himself now so that helps.

gary- i kind of know what you mean. The sickness has been so bad that I have basically promised myself that this is the last time and we'll be stopping at two DCs. But earlier the acupuncturist was asking me how many DCs I'd like and I answered without thinking...three! Ha ha def more broody than I thought Grin

Acupuncture was good earlier - hasn't magically cured nausea but it has helped a bit and I have another session scheduled for monday cos the lady thought first two sessions should be close together to be effective. She's also a trained midwife and talking to her about rest of pregnancy and birth kind of got me a bit excited...yes even about delivery again i must be high!

No snow here, lots of nasty sleet here and v cold so the slushy stuff is starting to freeze. Poor DH is currently braving the walk to Tesco cos we live at the bottom of a hill and of course they haven't gritted the roads so it's not far but impossible to get up in the car...

FoofFighter · 18/01/2013 18:01

Ditsy, you need to make your pictures public :)

Waves, lovely scan pic and am very Envy at your tattoos (assuming that is you in the bridal gown?!) (and also assuming it is tattoos and not a lacy shrug?!) (why can't MN make these bloody pictures bigger?!)

Sarah - wowsers that's a really clear picture!

Blondecat - so so pleased for you!

Well I have a word of advise for you all, take your maternity notes with you to every remotely medical appointment even if nothing to do with pregnancy! I just got roundly bollocked by the nurse/hca administering my flu jab as I didn't realise I needed them, practically accusing me of making up that the midwife advised I get the flu jab Shock Angry

Stay safe all of you in this horrid weather, hope everyone gets home ok (not a jot of snow here)

wavesandsmiles · 18/01/2013 19:07

Hello. Well, I didn't get home. Have sobbed at the airport, and in the taxi back to town, and am now sobbing in my hotel room! Blimmin pg hormones. Grrrr. So, hoping to get home tomorrow, fog and snow permitting but feeling really Sad that I am still away from the DCs and DH.

foof, those are tattoos, and it is me in the bridal gown back in July. By dates, our 1st anniversary will see me weeks away from "the birth" so I think that romantic shenanigans will be far from our minds!

Going to try and enjoy my night - bath is run (I demanded a room with a bath as opposed to the shower I had last night, and even used the pregnancy card to ensure I got one when I checked back in this evening), then off to have some food which at least I can claim back on expenses. Keep your fingers crossed that I get home tomorrow!

EggyM · 18/01/2013 19:09

blonde glad your bean is looking well- must be such a relief.

Carrie I fully sympathise with the headaches. I suffer from migraines anyway but can't take my magic tablets anymore and have had one almost every day for the past 2 weeks- so fed up!

christelle sounds normal don't worry - I'm having the same - lovely!

ditsy great news on your scan and scuba fab photo.

I also had my 12 week scan today - and all looking well thank goodness! I have a very lively little bean in my tummy- it didn't stop moving! Could see its little fingers and everything Smile due a few days earlier than we expected so new due date is 28th July.

FoofFighter · 18/01/2013 19:24

Great news Eggy :D hope you are staying with us on here though??

Waves, aww no! I think you should order something very expensive on the menu, and lots of lovely hot chocolate and cake, soak for hours in the bath reading, lots of bubbles, have the TV to yourself watch some rubbish, then have a lovely night's sleep starfished in the bed :D every cloud!

Yvonney · 18/01/2013 19:54

Waves - hope you get home tomrw and I agree with Foof, enjoy your bath and room service Smile

Christelle - I'm getting exactly the same so don't worry x

Fab news with all these scans. I'm so jealous, don't even have my scan date yet, won't be for another few weeks Sad

I was at work today and felt sooo tired I thought I was going to have to ask to go home! I'm exhausted all the time, I could fall asleep standing up! I'm already in jammies, in bed, dreading having to go into work tomrw. I have Crohn's disease and my iron levels are sometimes low so don't know if its that plus being pregnant that's wiping me out??!Sad
8+4

LittleMissSnowShine · 18/01/2013 20:06

eggy - yay great news!!

waves - aww!! Hope bath & room service make up for being stranded, hopefully some good trashy tv on. Theres a snowy sleety blizzard here, its not really lying but roads v slippy and no visibility so its taking ppl 3 hours to make 15 min journeys. Glad DH finished early this afternoon or him and DS would prob be stuck out there in it

Yvonney - Def worth bringing up with mw. Are you taking antenatal vits? They shd hav iron in them but you might need an extra dose...

Movie in bed for me tonight, listening to the sleety blizzard storm howling away out there...

OxfordToLondoner · 18/01/2013 22:51

Hubby arrived home early today, so I treated myself to a 3 hour nap. Weekend plans cancelled, so more opportunity to do bugger all. Thankyou snow!

Sorry for those of you not having such a positive snow experience (i won't be smiling if my scan is cancelled on Monday!)

Chuckaluck · 19/01/2013 05:44

Hi all,

I am excited to hear all your good news and scan stories! Snow is bad here and then father in law has a heart attack - not a good day yesterday!

By my dates I am 12 weeks today which feels like a nice milestone! Scan on Monday and like Oxford, am just hoping now it goes ahead, our hospital did cancel all appts on Friday so fingers crossed for Monday!

Ditsy79 · 19/01/2013 08:07

Hi again. Hope you are all okay. Think my scan pic is visible on my profile now...

FoofFighter · 19/01/2013 11:41

I can see it Ditsy, very nice :)

Chuckaluck, bloody hell, how is he??

Waves, hope you are safely en route home now.

We had about an inch of snow overnight, and other than that nothing much to report!

wavesandsmiles · 19/01/2013 12:00

What an awful day for you chuckaluck

I'm back home now. Was an early start and flight was delayed but so pleased to be back Smile Feeling sick but think that is more to do with lack of sleep and a bumpy flight than it is to do with being pg.

No snow left at home, just very chilly. Hopefully the snow doesn't cause anyone too many problems
