A link to the first thread is here.

This first trimester will end eventually... it will, it will!!! Grin

I'm no good with measurments lol but mines around 3-4 inches above pubic bone, if I have a fullish bladder, it becomes even more prominent. It's nothing amazing but just lovely to see and feel the beginnings of bump, rather than my bloated bump :) xx

EggyM · 15/01/2013 17:08

waves and duende so happy scans went well - I have mine on Friday and honestly just can't wait!

christelle I also came out with a minibump at about 10 and a half weeks - am 11+5 today.

Oh and duende yes to the headaches- I suffer from migraines anyway but usually am able to take my triptan tablets so not being able to take them has meant that I've just recovered from a week long one - hence my absence from this thread for a while- can't believe how many posts I've missed!

Also weirdly had a nosebleed yesterday- haven't had one since I was a kid- I've read that they are quite common in pregnancy though- has anyone else had one?

And anyone else worrying about absolutely EVERYTHING? I just can't stop. The obvious worries about miscarriage are always there, but also worrying about money, work after maternity leave etc etc. Most recently I just heard a programme on the radio about autism and got scared about how we would cope if our child had autism...

Oh and congratualtions mrswajs!

Jollymummy2 · 15/01/2013 17:17

EggyM I think it is perfectly normal to worry in pregnancy, at least I hope so as I do Grin

Feeling very stretched around my bikini line area today, and hoping that SPD has not started early, although MW has said to expect it early so not looking forward to that.

Have finally found comfort in strawberry and mango fruit tea, so can drink a warm drink without feeling sick. I had this with the last two pregnancies but can't believe I'm on it already!

I keep dreaming about having twin boys being born into the toilet!! I know that pregnancy often leads to weird dreams but this feels so real! Anyone else having odd dreams??

Christelle - i was skiing at 10 weeks and was fine, I just took it easy and it actually really helped with the morning sickness! The only dodgy bits were on the busy run back to resort when I didn't trust anyone else not to crash into me! And in Austria all the bars do alcohol free beer so you don't feel like quite such an outsider during apres ski (though they do smoke loads, yuk).

Can I just ask, I've lost my scan letter and i'm going in on Thursday - is there anything else I need to do apart from drink lots and take my blue folder? They gave me a urine sample bottle at my booking in - is that for the scan or my next MW appointment?

ScubaSarah · 15/01/2013 18:40

waves and duende great news on scans. Mine was also great but they wriggled around so much we were in for ages and I was busting for a pee by the end. I thought I was 11+2 but actually 12+0 so due 30th July. Nuchal ~.5 and could see nasal bone do really good - will get blood test results before consultants appt next Tues (I'm high risk due to age (39) and Mums high BP (not PG related) Angry
I'll work out how to add scan pic on PC later...

Foof give 'em hell!
mrsw awesome - huge congrats

Christelle2207 · 15/01/2013 19:04

Hey
well done on all the good scan news.
Briarrosy that makes me feel better thanks! My husband's not very good and quite slow so I'm just going to stick to the blues with him and probably avoid the reds. We definitely won't be able to afford to go when we have kids so gotta enjoy it while we still can. Pleased I'm not the only one doing what my mother thinks is unthinkable!
On the strange dreams front we are going on an overnight ferry to Brittany in June and had one about having to be airlifted off in Labour! I actually googled what has previously happened as they must have had a baby in the channel before and they have airlifted obstetricians in but never airlifted a mother in labour out! Having said that on most Brittany Ferries ships apparently there is a medic on board so finding that out calmed me a bit!

I doubt there is urine test at scan that will be for your next mw appointment. Nothing on my scan letter about urine test, just remember to drink and take your notes.

Yvonney · 15/01/2013 19:19

Mrswasj - congratulations, that's lovely news, it also brought a tear to my eye Smile I've been blubbing a lot recently, even Homes Down Under had me in tears today!

Eggym - I had nosebleeds in first pregnancy, not had one yet this time. And yes I'm worrying abt exactly the same things as you, especially finances and how we'll manage x

Fab news on all the scansSmile

LittleMissSnowShine · 15/01/2013 19:19

sunflower - I am also in the grey and unglam camp at the mo lol look more like theres something seriously wrong with me than someone with pg glow!

mrswajs - yayyy big congrats! So lovely :) me and DH going away over night for my birthday next month but since we're already hitched i dont rate my chances of coming home with a new diamond!

foof - hope they are able to clarify things for you at your appt

jollymummy / chrisyelle - i read something the other day about a lady who got caught short and ended up having the baby on the floor of a shopping centre outside Waitrose Shock scary things hav happened to a few ladies i actually know as well - my cousin had her third baby delivered by her DH on their bathroom floor after hospital insisted she wadnt dilated enough and had to go home! And my next door neighbour had her first DD in under an hour but despite that the hospital tried to send to send her home when she was in labour with no.2 but she insisted on staying which was just as well because she came very close to delivering on the waiting room floor 40 mins later!! So despite my epic long labour with DS i keep having unsettling dreams like that too...eep!

ScubaSarah · 15/01/2013 19:40

briarrosy the sample is for next MW appt at 15/16 weeks. I had same thought and double checked this morning

Chuckaluck · 15/01/2013 19:46

Foof definitely fight your corner, I am going to have the same conversation with my mw next time I see her! Let us know how you get on!

Stopsittingonyoursister · 15/01/2013 23:24

Wow so many posts to catch up on!

Mrswajs - many congratulations!! Do you have any dates in mind yet? Are you going to do it pre or post baby?? How exciting for you x

foof it definitely sounds like someone has some questions to answer! Can they put you on the red pathway without asking you, if you have no relevant history other than BMI (which doesn't meet the criteria anyway?). Hope you get that sorted out.

Littlemiss - I very nearly had DD on the hospital floor - the hospital insisted that I couldn't possibly be in labour because I had only been having contractions for around three hours. I remember just looking up from where I was squatting in front of the desk and saying in a really loud voice "Just take me to a delivery room. NOW". Fortunately, one very sensible MW took pity on me and took me to a "spare" room (no resusc equipment, no sheets on the bed, basically a store room) and 13 minutes later DD arrived. Because of the history I have of fairly quick labours, I have ben advised to consider a home birth this time, but I just like the reassurance of everything being two minutes away if something is wrong, rather than having to wait 20 minutes for an ambulance to arrive, then get loaded up, and then 20 minutes back to hospital...I'll have to have a serious think about it all!

waves scubasarah and duende congrats on all the positive scans. How exciting that we are getting to scan time already! Mine is on Monday, 9am. How am I going to drink enough by that time of day?!

Hope everyone else is OK and sickness is starting to get better

bzzbee · 16/01/2013 01:00

Hi all
Am worried sick, literally.
Started spotting earlier today, no preg symptoms compared to say a week ago.
Going to go to the EPU first thing but I am in a state.
Sad

ScubaSarah · 16/01/2013 05:21

bzzbee hope everything is ok. Here's a hand to hold BrewandThanks

BrieMonster · 16/01/2013 05:42

Thinking of you too bzzbee. Really hope things calmed down overnight although nothing will reassure you until you see someone I guess. I know it's a scary time but it doesn't have to mean bad news. Fingers crossed for you!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 16/01/2013 06:39

Thinking of you bzzbee, hope it's nothing to worry about. xx

Congrats on the positive scans everyone!
Sitting, I needed an ultrasound a few years back for a non-baby thing, I just drank a litre of chocolate milkshake...and felt like crap when they were jumping on my tummy. Didn't need a wee though!

Congrats to 'Mrs' or should that be MisssoontobeMrs Wajs!

Briar, they should check your wee at every single appointment, so I'd pee just to be on the safe side (can always pick up another sample pot)!

MW booking tonight for me!

10+4

bzzbee · 16/01/2013 06:56

Thanks for the support all. Had a terrible (non existent) night's sleep.
Things are calm now, nothing when I (sorry TMI alert ) this morning but there was during the night, though not a lot and only on wiping.
Going to the EPU first thing. DP insisting on coming too, he's in a similar state to me, so so worried.
Thank goodness for dd not giving us much chance to wallow as she's bouncing around since 6am :)

LittleMissSnowShine · 16/01/2013 08:53

bzzbee - So sorry to hear about spotting, I bled so much in week 5 and 6 I was sure it was curtains for me, and like you went to EPU to get checked out. It's really the best thing you can do, no point worrying by yourself. Really hope you get good news!

Gary - Nom...a litre of chocolate milkshake!!

I'm still sick sick sick..no surprises there! Really started getting to me last night after I threw up my beans on toast for dinner and even with my cyclazine tablet went to bed still feeling like the world was spinning and I was sea sick. Made it out of the house for an hour yesterday though and I've got an appointment with pregnancy specialist acupuncture lady on Friday. Never tried acupuncture when I had HG before so i'll be interested to see if it improves things. Even feeling slightly better would be amazing!!!

chocolatesolveseverything · 16/01/2013 09:53

Bzzbee- fingers crossed all is well and you have a happy little bean in there!

Little - Sorry to hear you're feeling so dreadful.

I'm now in the hospital waiting room, partway through my glucose tolerence test. I've downed the lucozade and now have to wait another hour and a half before a further blood sample is taken. Passing the time reading some work information about pensions. Bored already!

OP posts:
RainboxFX · 16/01/2013 09:54

Bzzbee thinking about you. I have been spotting for a week, and worried because I felt relitively "well" and not pregnant and horrible! Scan last Tuesday when it began, scan yesterday and all well. Bleeding can mean nothing and everything is fine. Sending you good wishes this morning xx

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 16/01/2013 10:27

Good luck bzzbee, I hope it all goes well. I'm spotting occasionally too, I have my scan tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed for us both x

MrsPennyapple · 16/01/2013 10:37

Bzzbee Hope you get good news today, it is so scary isn't it?

Chocolate You are dedicated, taking work stuff to read - it sounds desperately boring!

MrsWajs Congratulations! I am getting married in May - we had planned it for post-baby when I was pg with the one I lost, but obviously that didn't work out. So I will be a bride with a bump, as I'll be about 27 weeks by then. I did want to avoid that, but on reflection, I'd rather get married whilst pg than do it with a bf baby, and I wasn't prepared to delay the wedding until after then.

When I had DD I had contractions for two days, but then once my waters broke she was here in less than 2.5 hours. I am a little worried that this time it will be even faster, and am seriously considering borrowing PIL's camper van and camping out in the hospital car park. It's about a 20 min drive to the hospital from our house though, so not too bad, but last time I was terrified that I would end up giving birth in DP's filthy landrover, which is full of lawnmowers, strimmers, and chainsaws.

Anyone got any cravings yet? I didn't last time and don't this time, but I do have this thing where nothing tastes quite as good as I think it will. I cook the same things as always, with the same ingredients, but everything tastes like it's just "missing something". Most frustrating.

FoofFighter · 16/01/2013 10:37

Thinking of you bzzbee, good luck, fingers and everything firmly crossed for you xx

I'm starting to feel dodgy again, think my iron is low, taking bloods today hopefully they'll be back in by Monday and can see if that's why, had (non pg) anaemia before and feels very similar. Also had a bit of nausea coming back in the evenings which is not fun.

bzzbee · 16/01/2013 10:56

Thanks all, sadly there is no heartbeat.
Our own hearts are broken too.
Back at home trying to decide whether to have the surgery or just wait for nature.
Good luck evyone and I sincerely hope I am the last to leave this thread.
Xxx

CarriePie · 16/01/2013 11:03

Oh bzzbe I'm so sorry. Sending you a hug - look after yourself. Thinking of you. Xx

FoofFighter · 16/01/2013 11:13

oh bzzbee, I am so so sorry Sad

I waited for nature (happened just the next day) but I wish I had gone for medical management, too many memories in the bathroom.

Whatever you choose, please do log onto the pregnancy loss board on here, the people there are amazing and so supportive and you can ask them anything, even the most personal questions. And feel free to PM me if you decide to go natural way if you want any advice ok bzzbee?

Hugs for you and your OH Thanks Sad
