Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bzzbee · 15/01/2013 10:44

Oxford I'm 40 and will be 41 on due date.
I'm also worried about the higher risks per-scan results, but just trying to.stay calm until scan. And eating as healthy as I can, though still down half a stone since Dec.
I received a letter from NHS in Dec with loads of leaflets about scans, trials etc.
I put it aside and continued waiting for a scan date. The other night I piulled out the pile of leaflets and there, buried in amongst all the stuff was a faint/photocopy type printed page with a scan appointment! Doh! I had totally missed it. Luckily it's not till Jan 31st.
So warning for anyone else, please check carefully if you receive anything in the post. Especially if you have early onset baby brain like I clearly do!

LexiLoganberryBump · 15/01/2013 11:23

James Thank you for your posts, they've been very imformative and a real help. Hope all goes well with your scan.

Thanks Rainbow

Foof I hadn't seen your scan but have now, I'm quite envious of all you ladies who've had ther scans, mine will be ages yet. Was that you 12 week scan?

I had my booking in this morning and it was really good, the midwife was excellent answered all my questions and really put me at ease, she said I was being to hard on myself. She too mentioned the slimming world thing and said I could get refered, so will talk to dh but think I'll do that.
The things they tested for today were all ok and although I have to have a consultant who I'll meet in approx 4 weeks they will help me with the active birth and home birth plan everything being well throughout pregnancy.
I'm a day out on my dates, baby still due 26th August but I'm 8+2 (I thought I was 8+1). My appointment was 1hour 20 minutes, was really greatful that she took the time with me and was so lovely.

I must stay away from goggle

RuckAndRoll · 15/01/2013 11:33

lexi repeat after me... Google is not my friend, Google does not have a medical degree...

really jelous of all these scans, hope those who have them today have nice pictures now Smile
mines not until Feb 8th when i'll be 13+1.

loads of travelling with work at the moment, absolutely on my knees exhausted, but last night I slept really well. probably as dh is 200miles away and not even his snoring can travel that far Grin

wavesandsmiles · 15/01/2013 11:36

I REALLY REALLY need a wee. But I have to hold it in. Argh. Scan in about half an hour and DH picking me up very soon from work. Crossed legs all the way and keeping fingers and toes crossed that it is all running on time.

FoofFighter · 15/01/2013 11:43

haha waves, good luck :) make sure you locate the toilets while you are waiting ready for a swift pee!

Lexi, it was a private scan done at the weekend, haven't even had my appointment through yet for 12 week NHS scan, am 10 weeks today.

LexiLoganberryBump · 15/01/2013 11:43

Ruck Google is not my friend, google does not have a medical degreeGrin

And it was meant to be google not goggle, I'm blaming baby brain or is it too early for thatHmm

LexiLoganberryBump · 15/01/2013 11:46

Foof Aarrhh lovely, you'll have your second scan before I have my first.

I really want a scan [stamping feet emotion]

8+2

FoofFighter · 15/01/2013 12:08

Wouldn't count on it! because i said I wasn't interested in Downs testing they seemed to be of the mind that they can get everyone else in first and leave me a few weeks yet (am going away for a week around 12-13 weeks) as there isn't the time limit for the nuchal translucency test now.

sunflowerlady · 15/01/2013 12:28

katsatonmat we had DS whilst we were living in Leicester (with work). Back in Manchester now and booked into Wythenshawe for this one!

waves can't wait for scan news!! and hopefully peace of mind slapped cheek news!

I just want my scan now (a week on Thursday). I have made myself very paranoid about this slapped cheek business and now am symptomless - other than killer headache last night which resulted in me going to bed at 5.15pm, and feeling a bit sickly again. So yes not strictly symptomless but in my mind they are symptoms of something sinister. Really wish scan was this week, am flying this weekend and would have like the reassurrance before then really. Hey ho.

I'm going to start a petition for our 'Reduced Hours in Pregnancy' request. Will send it to Mr Cameron and his mates. Was thinking any hours you feel like in your 1st trimester, then reduced hours in 2nd trimester and then back to any hours you feel like in 3rd trimester? LOL We are doing a very important job here after all!!!

I agree with the trousers / leggings malarky. Some days I can actually wear my materinty work trousers because I am so bloated and some days they just fall down. I've ordered some next size up leggings from Next just to give me a bit of breathing room before I resort to my materity ones!!

Saw a pic of The Duchess on the news this morning....if only, if only, if only. I am sure she must have a personal hairdresser, make up artist etc etc...I am finding it a massive effort to hold the hairdryer and the hairbrush at the same time at the min and as for make up.....someone at work asked if I was ok because I was looking so 'Grey' lately!! Hmph....

11 + 5

sunflowerlady · 15/01/2013 12:30

foof I had that too. I said I didn't want the Down screenings in any way shape or form and when she called the hospital to book me in for my scan it was clear there was absolutely no rush to get me in!

MrsWajs · 15/01/2013 12:31

Good luck to all those having scans today :) and Foof your scan pic is soooo lovely!! It's made me really excited for my scan which is still about 4 weeks away!!

Commiserations to all those who are still having terrible morning sickness, my nausea seems to come and go in waves. It's nowhere hear as bad as it was with DD and I'm actually wondering how I coped at all with that! I think tiredness is much more of a problem this time around and that doesn't help the sick feeling either.

Soo, it was my 30th birthday on Sunday and DP took me away to Loch Lomond and proposed!!!!! What a total shock. I cried like an idiot but obviously said yes. Is it weird that I feel a bit overwhelmed by it though? It's all I've banged on about to him for 2 years and now I have it I'm kinda freaked out! I think a baby coming and now a wedding to plan is maybe a bit much for my brain to comprehend just now and my hormones doing overtime doesn't help either!!

MrsWajs · 15/01/2013 12:33

Oh keep forgetting 8+3!

sunflowerlady · 15/01/2013 12:33

Big congratulations MrsWajs That brought a tear to my eye!

FoofFighter · 15/01/2013 12:39

how lovely mrswajs :) Thanks congratulations xx

I wonder if Kate is on the due in July thread.... Wink

FoofFighter · 15/01/2013 12:55

Am pissed off Angry

Just checking my notes to confirm appointment time for tomorrow with MW to find a bit I didn't see them fill in, I have been put on RED care pathway because of my BMI - just googled to see what exactly that means, basically have been lumped in with all the drug-taking, chain smoking, drinking heavily, history of abuse/social worker interaction kind of people for extra support? WTF??

Also it says on there that it's for people with BMI of 35+ mine is 32.5 (rounded up to 33)

I think words are going to be had tomorrow.

FoofFighter · 15/01/2013 12:56

And why the hell should anyone who is overweight be assumed to have comparable needs to the above kinds of groups of people anyway?! it's madness!

wavesandsmiles · 15/01/2013 13:08

Congratulations to you mrswajs Thanks what a lovely place to be proposed to!

And hoping you manage to resolve some issues at your appointment tomorrow foof

Well I am back from my scan (and my wee!) and it was all perfect Grin We declined the nuchal screening, so it was really making sure everything was there, and taking measurements. Baby was dancing about and pulling some quite cute poses. Was amazing to see a real -looking baby. Oh, with a heartbeat of 163. I was pretty surprised that it is measuring the same as the dates - but I only had one cycle post coil. So, ultrasound EDD of 30 July, putting me at 12 weeks exactly today Smile

When I get home I shall work out how to upload a photo. I am feeling very relieved and like all of a sudden this is totally real. Need to sort out a time for a blood test for the slapped cheek immunity, but apparently most adults are immune so just a precaution. That should be later this week. Right, back to work. And I won't be looking at babythings on the internet. Oh no no no Wink

Christelle2207 · 15/01/2013 13:12

Hello again
I was on the thread near the very beginning but to be honest decided to give it a break as I was finding it all very stressful and anxiuos, especially as so many of you have had mcs. Particularly sorry to hear about those who've mc this time.
Anyway I'm now beginning to feel a lot more positive, especially as a mini bump came out of nowhere on Monday! I am today 11 weeks exactly. I had a private scan at 8 weeks 3 days just after Christmas, all was great then, and I have my (nhs) 12 week scan on the 25th. We have told close family and bosses already - immediately after the scan we are going skiing for a week (gently! don't judge me! Obviously this was all booked and paid for before i got pg, I'd been trying for a year and so assumed I'd be trying for a lot longer!) then when we get back we'll be nearly 14 weeks so plan to tell everyone then. My bf has just announced that she's 16 weeks and so excited to tell her.
We think we're due 6th August according to the 8 week scan. will add myself to the list after the 25th.
Best of luck to the rest of us xxx

RainboxFX · 15/01/2013 13:13

Foof that is extremely frustrating. You are Scottish as well right? My BMI was higher than that first time round and I was on a green pathway. I had one additional consultant appointment where they checked me for breathing problems and that was it. Could be worth talking to your midwife? If no diabetes, heart problems etc there is really no reason for you to be red. Sadly I am this time due to pre term labour :(

Slim women have it just as bad! MY friend is very svelte and fit, a dancer, and had a horrid bout of food poisoning just after her BFP and lost a lot of weight. The midwives threatened to section her and force feed her Angry

Congrats MrsW that's wonderful news! Plenty of time to make plans though, try not to get too stressed! I know That is easy for me to say.

Dr Google is no one's friend! And is actually kind of a dick!

Just counting the hours now until my scan. Have been spotting for a week now so a bit anxious! Good luck to everyone else being scanned today too!

RainboxFX · 15/01/2013 13:15

cross posts!

Waves so glad to hear of your excellent scan, really glad it has put your mind at rest a bit.

Christelle enjoy your holiday! A lovely way to celebrate.

LexiLoganberryBump · 15/01/2013 14:04

Congratulations Mrswajs

Foof hope you get you pathway stuff amended, I feel for you.

duende · 15/01/2013 14:38

waves very pleased to hear about your scan :)
Back from mine and it also went well. Wriggly, lovely baby, 11 weeks 6, due date 31 July.
We did have the nuchal test, measurement 1.1, need to wait for results of blood test to get the overall test.
I am sooooo relieved.
On another note, Is anyone suffering with constant headaches?

Noodles80 · 15/01/2013 14:53

Hi Ladies,

Hope you're all ok. I'm still away on my mammoth business trip, but the end is in sight and only 5 more days to go then I get to have 2 weeks at home! All ok just ridiculously tired and no appetite at all. I was in bed at 7.30 last night!

I've booked a private scan for next Tues so looking forward to that as might seem more real then! Booked to see doctor as well that day so assume I might get something for 12 week scan after that.

MrsW - Congratulations! What a lovely birthday surprise!

beckie90 · 15/01/2013 15:23
