Should have said hope you feel "ok" for it....fat fingers!

fatasbutter · 28/01/2013 17:44

Ok I'm slightly panicking - called local epu as the booking lady said they do reassurance scans for previous mc people. It's on Thursday morning. I'm so scared. I'm half pleased (although will only be 7 weeks and was hoping for one after 8 weeks for safety!) but mostly convinced it will be a rerun of the last scan I had which was so awful... Don't know what I expect you all to do about it just thought I would panic here! Thanks!! X

MrsBri · 28/01/2013 18:03

Awww...fatas, I hope it goes well. You are feeling sick, which is a good sign. It doesn't have to be as bad as previous pregnancies. I know it is impossible not to worry though.

kittykatsforever · 28/01/2013 18:50

Oh fatas it's understandable you'll be nervous but I think it's a positive thing, 7wks should see a wee hb and tell you things are progressing and personally I think there's nothing worse then limbo so atleast it will alow you to see where you are and hopefully reassure you x

SunshineOutdoors · 28/01/2013 19:08

fatas I understand you're nervous but it's good you're having the scan now as you don't want to keep worrying. Keep talking to us and we'll all be thinking of you on Thursday. What time is your scan? I bet it gives you the reassurance you need, but it's perfectly normal to be scared

fatasbutter · 28/01/2013 20:26

Ah thanks everyone you are all so lovely!

It's at 8am so at least I can get it over with and enjoy/distract self for the rest of the day (delete as appropriate). At least I will know if it is a real embryo or a blighted ovum I suppose... Last mmc I saw a hb at 6+5 and then 2 weeks later it still measured 6+5 with no hb so would prob need to have weekly scans in order to feel any better at all!! I suspect my worrying levels won't fall much even if its good news!! Confused ingrate

MrsBri · 28/01/2013 20:32

You've every reason to be cautious, fatas, I'm not surprised you feel as you do. Hell, I'm worrying all the time, purely because of things that have happened to others, let alone me. Pregnancy = worry.

LittleMissSnowShine · 28/01/2013 20:49

fatas - I was brought in for scans at 6 weeks and 8 weeks cos of mmc last year but also cos i had bleeding in early pg and going for both those scans was so stressful! I thought by the time the 12 week one came I'd be more relaxed but I wasn't! All I can say is I completely understand how you feel and I'm sure your scan will be fine on Thursday. And we're here to keep you company til then :)

Made it in for 4.5 hours in work today. Just doing two tomorrow, but will prob have DS on my own tomorrow afternoon so that should be a bit of a challenge! Sickness is gradually improving but energy levels still very low and tablets make me drowsy on top of that so bit of a struggle but pleased to have made it through today anyway!

Thanks for being supportive. I will try not to whinge too much!!

Well done for making it into work littlemiss - baby steps! Good luck with your dc - it is hard work when you're feeling rubbish but sometimes they just give you a hug and it makes it much better!

kiwi5 · 28/01/2013 21:40

Am so rubbish. I really meant to keep in touch more. DH has been hogging the ipad!
Fatas- do whatever u need to do to keep sane or to keep anxiety within vaguely ok levels. it is super scary especially tje first 12 weeks. It felt like i was holding my breath for three months. look after urself.

Hope everyone else ok? I still regularly check tje conception board to see how the rest of the gang r doing.

Had my 20 week scan last fri. All looking fine as far as they can see, including his boy bits. Hurray! Feel a bit calmer now. Plus feeling wriggles and kicks a bit more.
Better go and catch up on what u all have been up to

kittykatsforever · 29/01/2013 08:44

Ah kiwi a lovely boy and a healthy scan, what fab news!!!

fatasbutter · 30/01/2013 17:23

Thanks kiwi! And congrats on a wriggly boy Thanks

Scan tomorrow. Bricking it. Don't think there will be a heartbeat and can't face the thought of the sonographer saying that! Wimp!! Keep telling self even if that is the case it won't kill me!

Hope everyone else well x

SunshineOutdoors · 30/01/2013 17:59

Congratulations kiwi!

Finally had the dating scan, all was thankfully fine, and they make me a week further on than I thought I was, been given a due date of 7th August, 2 days after dd's 2nd birthday.

Fingers crossed for 20 week scan now and I'm looking forward to finding out the sex.

Thinking of you fatas, I'm sure things will be fine but the sooner you get that scan done the better, to help ease your worrying a little.

MrsBri · 30/01/2013 18:02

Big hugs, fatas...I really hope it all goes well. I can't imagine how terrified you are, but we are all here for you. xx

And excellent news, kiwi :-) My 20 week scan is next Tuesday. About time too! Though based on last scan dates I'm 20 weeks today. On real dates it is Sunday!

MrsBri · 30/01/2013 18:05

Congrats on your scan, Sunshine. Have you got a long baby, or could your dates have been wrong? Nice to move forwards though! :-)

kittykatsforever · 30/01/2013 19:55

Yeah for a great scan sunshine, can't believe your two will have birthdays so close!! My dd is 2 in aug aswell, is anyone going to put there scan pics on profile so we can have a coo over them and guess obviously!! any preference sunshine??
Good luck tomorrow fatas I'm sure it will be fine xx

fatasbutter · 30/01/2013 21:15

Ooh congrats sunshine - that's excellent news!

Thanks for all the good luck wishes, will check in tomorrow one way or t'other Wink

tedmundo · 30/01/2013 21:55

kiwi and sunshine .. Congrats on those scans. Wonderful news.

fatas.. Keep us posted! Good luck tomorrow.

I have had a crazy week ladies. I went into labour on Monday .. 34 weeks. Oh yes, in my hazy pregnancy brain I have been wrong about my dates all this time! I thought I was a week further on. Dimwit.

Anyway, they gave me drugs to stop the contractions, then steroids to mature the baby's lungs and monitored me to check the contractions did not start again. The cervix has started to shorten (not open yet thankfully) so it was a bit close for comfort.

I am home now and just will have to wait for labour to start again, whenever that may be. Could be days or weeks. Feel very odd as had started to get my head around meeting the wee one but am so glad he/she gets to sit tight for a little while longer.

See, this is why I watch OBEM .. I need to see a straight forward labour and push-it-out birth just to keep me SANE!

fatasbutter · 31/01/2013 06:34

Bloody hell ted Shock how stressful! I hope you get at least another couple of weeks so babs is a little more cooked and ready Wink now there is even more reason to put your feet up (as if being heavily pg wasn't enough!). Good luck!

kittykatsforever · 31/01/2013 07:24

Oh my goodness ted!!! That must have been a shock! Have you got a history or pre term labour or is this a new thing? It's so strange to think it can just happen out of the blue like that

Kittenkatzen · 31/01/2013 07:39

Omg ted what a stressful week you've had! Sending cervix closing thoughts your way - stay put a while longer baby!!

fatas fx for you today!

SunshineOutdoors · 31/01/2013 07:48

ted that must have been so scary. Rest and put your feet up and keep them together. Glad the little one stayed put, obviously eager to get out and see you! Take care of yourself and hope you're feeling ok now x

mrsbri I'm not sure why the dates were out, I was sure I was right, partly because of it being nearly exactly 2 years after dd I could compare the dates. I don't opk or anything though, just guess based on oving 14 days before af. If that happened and they're right it would only have been a 29 day cycle, which is super super short for me. Oh well, I'd rather they make it earlier than I do rather than later, as I won't be worried about going too far overdue before induction if it comes to that. How are you?

SunshineOutdoors · 31/01/2013 07:48

When's obem on?

LittleMissSnowShine · 31/01/2013 08:14

Congrats kiwi - a boy, very exciting!!! I was half hoping for a girl this time but with every day that passes I am getting a bit more convinced that I have a boy in there too but I'm coming round to having another boy, rowdy but so much fun!!

Also congrats to you too sunshine - our due dates are even closer now, you on 7th and me on 9th Grin woo hoo! good way to kick off August! My dates were about 4 weeks (!!) out with DS cos of my dodgy cycles but it seems to be exactly dead on this time round, which I am having a hard time believing lol

ted - exactly the same thing happened to a friend of mine who was pg at same time as I was with DS. DS and her DD were meant to be 8 weeks apart, in the end she also started pre-term labour at 34 weeks but didn't end up delivering til 37 weeks and with injections for baby's lungs everything was fine. Her DD is a very robust little toddler now so although that is very stressful for you I just wanted to share a story v like yours which had a positive outcome (and a v straightforward, easy, DRUG FREE (!!) labour) :) Wishing you lots of relaxing, delaying labour vibes

No news here, DS's bug has cleared up, did 6.5 hours in work y'day which wasn't too bad. I'm off Thursdays and Fridays anyway, and DS has gone round to MIL this morning so I can rest up. I think hope the very worst of the sickness is over, it's still lurking there and i'm still throwing up but it's like i can almost imagine life without the 24/7 life stopping nausea now. About time too, i'm 12+6 now!!! But think there's probably still another week or so to go before i can really be 'past' it...hurry up! I want to start buying maternity clothes and pregnancy magazines now Grin
