Thanks for the suggestions on the nose, it's brutal but just ate my body weight in oranges. My work gives me so many colds.

mysterymeg · 22/01/2013 15:42

Thanks for the sympathy ladies!

Just had midwife appt and heard the heartbeat for the first time Grin how is it possible to love something so small so much???

Still feeling disgusting though. photographer steam inhalation and hot orange squash with honey in it helps. If it gets worse see your gp as mine has settled on my chest and caused a chest infection so am now on antibiotics [feeling sorry for myself face]

I can't scroll back to see to asked the original question about belly buttons, but whoever it was, take heart, not everyone pops! With ds mine stayed an inny right till the end. Didn't get stretch marks on my bump either which is amazing considring I've got tonnes on my hips and thighs from gaining and losing weight over the years

Mind ou, I was also pretty much flat as a pancake for the first 6 weeks as was pretty fit then. This time round I'm as big as a house already!

Who else on this thread is looking after a toddler? It's getting to be quite hard work... Slippery pavements + slow walking 3 year old + constant needing to pee / sit down for a rest (me) + a deep need to look at every stick in the gutter / tears when it's raining (him) is getting quite tiring. Thank god for cbeebies.

specialknickers · 22/01/2013 16:21

Oh and meant to say I didn't do ntc and won't this time either... I found I made friends at antenatal yoga and then at mum and baby groups. But then I'm welsh and so talking to complete strangers about not very much is second nature for me!

shelley72 · 22/01/2013 16:34

specialknickers me! i also have a toddler (and a 5 yo who has a whole host of other 5yo issues). school run has been a nightmare with this snow, and i am finding my toddler especially very hard work at the moment. far too independent but cant quite manage everything herself yet. oh the tantrums! this terrible two thing has come as a complete shock to me! thinking of a pre school when she turns 3. i feel very guilty about it but i think she needs a bit more than i can give at the moment. this pg has been by far the hardest, i dont remember being this exhausted with either pg before. but then i was younger and not running about after two DCs i suppose!

TotallyEggFlipped · 22/01/2013 16:52

I'm also finding my almost 2 year old very hard work at the moment. So glad it's not just me. I'm afraid it's just going to get worse though, not better....,..,,

VinegarDrinker · 22/01/2013 17:21

TotallyEggFlipped I have a nearly 2 year old, too. Currently trying to drop his nap WAY before he is ready to... Urgh, the carnage!

TomDaleysTrunks · 22/01/2013 17:47

Yep I also have a demented nearly 2 year old. The tantrums! I think today was the first time she said yes in weeks. Thank goodness tomorrow is a nursery day and I'm not working!

VinegarDrinker · 22/01/2013 17:56

Oh wow, I'm very jealous of your child-free work-free day TomDaleysTrunks. We are "between nurseries" (long story) so using favours/annual leave/grandparents for childcare, so I don't even get the day "off" pre or post night shifts . Currently on a train from work up to the suburbs to get him from my Mum.

Roll on next month when he turns 2 and can start at his new nursery! Am shattered.

specialknickers · 22/01/2013 17:59

Oh I'm so glad it's not me. My ds is normally a happy, well behaved boy... But he's 3. Which means that if you take him on a very special trip to the sealife centre and he didn't get to press the bell on the bus to get off (mummy can't lift him with pelvic girdle pain) then he may just totally fall to pieces and cry for half an hour Confused and refuse to go in. Gah. As you say, I fear this is only going to get worse... I'm 40 for chuff's sake, I'm knackered!

MrsRoss26 · 22/01/2013 18:44

TomDaleysTrunks, TotallyEggFlipped and BadMissM I am starving all day too! It's driving me nuts. I'm trying to eat as much fruit and healthier bits as possible, but the sugar cravings are also kicking in, which aren't so good... But I did weigh myself again, and no weight gain yet thank goodness.

All those feeling baby movements: what's it like?! I can't wait to feel those flutters.

Finally have my scan tomorrow. It seems mad that nearly everyone on here has had theirs before me, so I'm excited to catch up with you all! Fingers crossed for a healthy little one please Smile

Devilforasideboard · 22/01/2013 19:07

Holy crap, there's a due in October thread Shock Shock I feel old!

AmaDablam · 22/01/2013 19:12

OK, dinky, esme and anyone else who kindly gave advice re. back pain: One "10 minute prenatal pilates" DVD and one "Buddha Bellies yoga" DVD ordered from Amazon; one exercise ball retrieved from the garage and stationed ready for bouncing! I also plan to start up swimming again once this ridiculous weather has cleared up.

I know I'm being a bit of a sheep just buying the DVD's you guys suggested but there are so many to choose from so I have to go on something! Plus these were an absolute bargain on Amazon (got both for less than the cost of ONE antenatal pilates class on the course I looked into) and had lots of good reviews. I'll let you know how I get on.

I'm just starting to get the all day munchies too, but embracing it at the moment and having what I fancy. It's just so nice to get an appetite and enjoyment of food back after emerging from the wilderness that is MS. I still feel sick if I try and eat too much at one sitting though, so finding that little and often is still the best policy.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow MrsRoss. Hope it is a lovely experience for you.

14+2

AmaDablam · 22/01/2013 19:18

PS- much admiration for all you guys going through this journey with a toddler in tow. I really don't know how you do it! Saying that, it could be me in a few years time Grin

SomeDaySoon74 · 22/01/2013 20:02

Hello everyone. Hope all's well with you guys. Please could someone take me off the list (I'm down as yikesherewego but have done a name-change following my bad luck at 12 week scan). Had a TFMR yesterday so am back on the TTC wagon. Cheerios folks & good luck for your pregnancies!! xx

haven't posted for ages and had gotten myself convinced I was gonna have to move to the august group but I've finally got a date that I'm gonna stick with! had my 12 week scan yesterday and they've got me as 13 week's tomorrow and due 31st July! my instinct tells me august 6th, no idea why?! but my eldest was 2 days earlier than due date and my youngest was 2 days later so we'll see!
not been part of discussion for a while but just noticed the bellybutton conversation and mine didn't pop out at all with either of my boys! x

photographerlady · 23/01/2013 05:53

October thread? Look at us moving along nicely soon we will all be half way through our pregnancies :)

Supershiv1 · 23/01/2013 08:18

I find myself thinking about you guys a lot and how we're all doing quite frequently. Will we carry this on through the terrible twos I wonder....
[Virtual love emoticon]
Or is it the hormones? ?? Smile

flyingsprocket · 23/01/2013 08:31

So sorry yikes/someday

Good luck today mrsross

All the talk of toddlers makes me realise how lucky I am to be able to rest uninterrupted when I feel like poo!

flyingsprocket · 23/01/2013 08:34

supershiv I'm wondering about your name....have you used Shiv after a) a very fancy road bike or b) an Irish girl's name or c) none of the above, mind your own business sprocket?!
