New thread as the other one is nearly full Xmas Shock!

Our next baby should be pmgkt's, but I won't if any little cheeky monkey will sneak in before Thursday?

OP posts:

salt I'm relying on Amazon next day delivery for breast pumps, if I need one... I know I will when I start to go back to work (probably a few months in) but leaving that decision for now.

Last time, I had a hand held Avent, which worked, but I think probably wasn't very efficient. This time, I reckon I'll go posh with a Medela, or the slightly less pricey Ameda Lactaline which has been recommended.

orangeshortbread · 08/01/2013 11:19

Got up this morning needing the loo and had a trickle of liquid down my legs on the way there. Not sure if it is leaking waters or just weak pelvic floor (am 40 + 6 today). Never happened before though - that was just before 9am and have had nothing else since. What do you think?

ChutesTooNarrow · 08/01/2013 11:27

salt I used the avent handheld and that was fine but I didn't need to gather huge stockpiles of milk. I mainly used it first thing in the morning from one side whilst ds fed from the other and would get enough from that that there was enough for DP to feed him in the evening if necessary whilst I wallowed in the bath for two hours a bit.

I did stop being arsed after a month or two though and because we stopped giving ds the odd bottle we got a horrible shock at four months when I went out for the evening and ds completely refused to drink from a bottle - and never did again despite several attempts. So this time we will make sure we keep it up!

CreepyCrawly · 08/01/2013 11:38

Well, midwife appointment was alright. Baby's heartbeat and my blood pressure was all fine. She measured my bump and said there had been a slight slow down in growth. She phoned the ante natal clinic to see if they'd want to scan me, and then sent me home to wait for a phone call. Just had that phone call, and no they don't want to scan me because I'm so close to my due date.

This wasn't my usual midwife, and is the same one that sent me for a scan when I was measuring big. So been a bit worried this morning now that baby has stopped growing. Although I'm sure if they were worried, the would scan me wouldn't they?

Birdies · 08/01/2013 11:46

Congrats boutique, kim and lora!

bealos · 08/01/2013 11:55

creepy don't worry! Look at all the 'scans got it wrong' stories on this thread...

CreepyCrawly · 08/01/2013 12:00

That's what I've been saying to DH, and myself. I've measured a lot bigger up until now so maybe she's just catching up with herself.

Brugmansia · 08/01/2013 12:16

I had a midwife appointment this morning too. My bp is slightly up so having to go into hospital now for further checks. Also having another scan next week as they couldn't be completely certain about whether the baby was the right way up or breach.

Lovely hearing on this thread about all the new babies. I'm the last due so it still feels a really long way off - I'm not even 37 weeks yet.

AppleCrumples · 08/01/2013 13:15

Congratulations lora ! Wow babies arrivibg all over x

salt re breast pumps. I didn't get one in advance with dd1 then she wouldn't feed properly anf my boobs were agony! I had a total meltdown and recklessly forced the whoke famiky up ti asda for a manual tomnee tipee pump which helped but was tgen barely used. This time i got it in advancr even though i know it wont get masses of use. Glad i did as ivy so small my boobs were too big when full so i can empty a bit and she latches on better. I would get the pump!

Hope everyone else ok.

Ivy has regained her birth weight - yay! Also took her to pick up dcs yesterday and got absolutely mobbed Grin

Hormonalhell · 08/01/2013 13:39

Orange this happened to me but mine wasn't my waters, they told me it wouldn't stop would just keep coming

Berniebennett · 08/01/2013 13:58

Baby Bennett was moved via C section today, weighing 8lb 11oz and has us wrapped Round his little fingers already!

Birdies · 08/01/2013 14:05

Congrats bernie!

ChutesTooNarrow · 08/01/2013 14:51

Congratulations bernie!

orange did you figure out if waters? I'm convinced mine just slowly trickled out last time, have no idea when they 'went'. I had a stream of midwives approach me clutching my notes after birth determined to pinpoint an exact time. All I could do was assure them I would have noticed a stream of water gushing from my neither regions but that hadn't happened!

happyhow · 08/01/2013 15:06

Congrats Bernie!!

I've been having lots of reasonably intense period type pain since my sweep this morning. Trying not to get my hopes up but... It eases a little when bouncing around on my gym ball and is more intense when sitting or standing. There's currently a painter and a plumber in the house though so trying to ignore it for now!!

Hormonalhell · 08/01/2013 15:51

Tugs, with regard to movement mine is moving just as much well more squirming and it's painful especially with his little fists banging against my cervix Grin

I heard that if they move less they are getting ready for labour but it still good to be checked for peace of mind Smile

Lostbobbles · 08/01/2013 15:59

Congrats Bernie, wish you a speedy and quick recovery. Hope you are not in too much pain.

Yay hair appoint complete, now just need it to hold out until after DD1's school appointment tom morning.

theboutiquemummy · 08/01/2013 16:27

Congratulations Bernie they are all coming thick n fast now such a lovely way to start the day x

orangeshortbread · 08/01/2013 17:06

Thanks for your replies chutes and hormonal. Still not sure what it was bit a few hours later I lost my mucus plug so maybe it is somehow connected. Really want things to kick off now!

Tugstonia · 08/01/2013 18:29

Congrats Bernie! And hope things kick off for you soon orange and happy.

Thanks for your comments on movement, had a lot more movement today (squirms and little hands really low down) so feeling a bit more relaxed about it. I think baby has turned back to anterior position as well - all that kneeling on all fours and bouncing on the ball might just be working.

bealos · 08/01/2013 18:39

38 week midwife appt today - and for the first time baby appears to be OP. How annoying! Last night I felt more movement than I've ever felt and it must have been it turning around. Grrr.

MamaMary · 08/01/2013 19:23

Lora, congratulations on the birth of Dexter!

Regarding breast pumps, I have the mini medela, and it does the job well. It is noisy, but apparently they all are. I use it A LOT - several times a day at the moment as my milk is coming in and it really relieves the pain, and also makes it easier for Leah to latch on. Like Apple, I am glad I have it upfront this time as I knew how and when to use it. Last time my mum bought it for me when my milk came in and I panicked.

MamaMary · 08/01/2013 19:24

Bealos, what does OP mean? Is it an awkward position?

bealos · 08/01/2013 20:12

it's "occipital posterior" - basically back to back. Head down though, so that's a blessing.

Hormonalhell · 08/01/2013 20:17

Ooooh could be real thing Orange, I didn't lose my mucous plug when it trickled out Shock

katolla · 08/01/2013 21:03

Congratulations bernie and lora!

I was 3/5 engaged today and also OP (thanks for the acronym bealos!), is this the one you fix by going on all fours and bouncing on a ball?
