New thread as the other one is nearly full Xmas Shock!

Our next baby should be pmgkt's, but I won't if any little cheeky monkey will sneak in before Thursday?

OP posts:

PixelCarrier · 06/01/2013 04:50

Congratulations pascha, hope you're ok and get out of hospital quickly.

Lostbobbles · 06/01/2013 08:03

Congrats Pascha. (Not sure from your message if its you or bubs on drip but hope all is well.)

Tinyeyes, fab news on having Megan home and to hear she is doing well.

Apples hope Ivy is on speedy road to recovery

Lora/hormonal hope you have better day. Men/ Teenagers = very limited empathy radar in a lot of cases!!

All quiet on my baby front, which I'm still happy with until Thursday, after which it is welcome to make a quick and easy entrance to the world.

Hormonalhell · 06/01/2013 10:00

Congratulations Pascha, hope u and baby are ok Smile

Lostbobbles, my BF gone skiing for the week so not even got him to help either. Good job lots of micro meals in Grin

I want my baby out now! I want my baby out now!I want my baby out now! Wonder if I keep saying this like a mantra it will happen Grin

katolla · 06/01/2013 10:13

Congratulations pascha! I'm so jealous of all the lovely babies appearing. I'm not even full term till tomorrow and even then it's another 3 weeks to edd :(

Bunny222 · 06/01/2013 10:56

Good luck to those with inductions etc this week.

katolla like you am feeling massively impatient now and due date still two weeks away. Boo!

Bump seems to have gone a bit lower, am hoping its a sign....

Birdies · 06/01/2013 10:59

Congrats pascha!!!

bealos · 06/01/2013 11:29

Congratulations pascha. Hope you get to go home soon.

I had a lovely blessingway yesterday - got my belly painted with henna, everyone brought some material to make a quilt with, which was sewn up whilst I was massaged. And we talked and ate cake. Just gorgeous. I'm more in the frame of mind to have my baby now!! I did a bit of nipple tweaking this morning and contractions came on which shocked me. Have subsided now, so thinking I might not do that again for a bit... I have a few days work this week to do, then I'll get back to the tweaking :)

CreepyCrawly · 06/01/2013 11:48

Congratulations on all the lovely snuggly babies!

Another one feeling jealous here. Due a week today and feeling ready now. Every person I encounter is asking if there's anything happening yet and/or commenting on how tired I look.

I'm feeling pretty good, apart from awful pain between my legs the last few days. Is it spd worsening, or perhaps baby moving down? I feel all bruised down there.

bealos that sounds lovely! What's the link with nipple tweaking? Can that start things off?

Hopefully not too long for the rest of us now!

bealos · 06/01/2013 12:04

Oh yes creepy nipple stimulation is documented as a thing can can bring on labour (if your body is ready) and get a labour that's slowed down back on track. It's because it releases oxytocin. A babycentre article says 37 per cent women who had tried nipple stimulation went into labour within 72 hours compared to just six per cent of those who had not. Worth a try!

Hormonalhell · 06/01/2013 12:29

My nipples too sore to tweak HmmHmm

Tugstonia · 06/01/2013 13:06

Congrats on all the new arrivals! Hope you're all doing well :)

I too am feeling quite Envy even though I still have a week and a half left til due date. Just want to meet my little one now.

Bealos sounds like a lovely blessingway. I've been tweaking my nips for last half hour and baby starting going crazy in there! No contractions yet but seems to be doing something. Also been eating curry and pineapple, bouncing on my ball and walking lots. Went for a 2.5 hour walk along the south bank yesterday and my feet, back and tops of my legs were agony afterwards. So might have to go for shorter walks from now on.

glorious I have PMed you with acupuncturist recommendations, sorry for delay :)

Last mw appt said baby is posterior... Apart from going on all fours and avoiding slouching, anyone got any other tips for encouraging baby to turn?

salt1 · 06/01/2013 13:26

just back from an antiques fair where some random old woman grabbed my hand and said "have an epidural there is nothing natural about child birth" - this is the closest i have ever come to punching an oap - bloody cheek.

glorious · 06/01/2013 13:44

congratualtions Pascha, lovely news.

Thanks for the pm tugs, that's great Thanks. Mine was posterior at the appointment before last and I found Spinning Babies really helpful - I've been doing the daily activities on there ever since and it turned several times before settling (hopefully!) in the right place, which the midwife confirmed last week. No idea obviously whether it would have turned anyway but the exercises aren't hard and they don't take long. You're already doing the walking anyway Smile

Salt that's dreadful. I don't know why people think those kind of comments are helpful (unless invited).

Lora1982 · 06/01/2013 16:13

Let the games begin ladies.... My waters have gone :-D

happyhow · 06/01/2013 16:47

Good luck Lora!! Hope it all goes smoothly... Not Envy at all...

Despite still being in my pjs, I've managed to bounce about for a bit, unpack a few boxes, Hoover, remove masking tape from the carpets and clean up some of the destruction caused by hubby and his friend while I was in hospital.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. Due-day for me tomorrow and no signs of baby shifting just yet...

PeshwariNaan · 06/01/2013 16:55

An update: little miss baby is breech, continuing an 8-week trend (we think). After trying our best to make her turn but realising it's probably too late since she feels HUGE and STUCK in my ribs, she is coming out via planned cesarean on this coming Tuesday (Jan. 8), five days before due date. She is my first baby and my top priority is getting her out safely.

allchik · 06/01/2013 17:25

naan couldnt agree more! Have a relaxing day tomorrow...how exciting!
lora eek!how u feeling?if ur waters break do u have to go straight in?

Berniebennett · 06/01/2013 17:31

NAAN we will be ELCS buddies! I'm in the same position - bump still happy sat on his bum (def takes after DH) so am going in on Tuesday - 2 days before due date!

Good luck xx

Lostbobbles · 06/01/2013 17:43

Best wishes lora x

Nann and Bernie, my dd1 was breech, had ecv but unsuccessful so was planned c-sec (until little madam came early to give me a taster of the contractions Hmm) anyway hope all goes well for you both and hope you recover as quickly and as well as I did. (One thing that I found really useful was the theralibe c-sec belt)

Ps your bubs will share their birthday's with Elvis

bealos · 06/01/2013 19:16

Good luck lora.

I have to say being part of this group makes impending labour and birth much more exciting!!

orangeshortbread · 06/01/2013 19:20

How exciting for you Lora, wishing you all the best and keep us updated!

I'm 40+4 today, feeling fed up and very back-achey. Trying to find distractions so have just made scones with DH.

Hormonalhell · 06/01/2013 21:01
