rudolf that happened to me I was stood I bathroom n it trickled onto floor, I went down to hosp and apparently was just weeBlush didn't feel like it tho!!

CODwidow · 07/12/2012 09:07

I also went to delivery as I was stood making packed lunches one day and all of a sudden I was soaked BlushBlush I was sure I hadn't wet myself but it was all discharge apparently and very common.

Hormonalhell · 07/12/2012 09:12

Ha ha cod weird tho isnt it? Same thing happened when preg with DD, was in morrisons and it came out of bottom of trousers, but that time it was my waters but felt exactly same!

Hormonalhell · 07/12/2012 09:14

Don't think my pelvic floor is there any more! There is no way on earth I could hold anything in Grin

gilsbubbles · 07/12/2012 09:14

Off to see the midwife for a sweep, finger crossed this kicks things off

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 07/12/2012 09:17

Congratulations acj hurry back with more details!
Woke up this morning to find that a second couple I know who are due this month have had their baby (the first came on Tuesday). My friend has been texting me to "hurry up" Angry but I never expected to have my baby early so I'm not getting stressed. I presumed that most people went over with their first and I haven't had any signs that baby is imminent!

He'll come in his own time, as they say noone's ever been pregnant forever!

Good luck to anyone with appts or inductions today.

Hormonalhell · 07/12/2012 09:19

Good luck Gils Smile

Willyule they say boys are less eager to put in an appearance, like to be warm and snug Grin

ellliebelle · 07/12/2012 09:25

Congratulations acj

Im planning on having a lazy day i think. Im still in bed :) dh is off work today so hecn entertain dd2 it is dd1's school fair tonight and ive agreed to help out at about 2pm but will be nice to be social for a bit :)

ItsMyLastOne · 07/12/2012 09:28

You all talk so much!

When I was pg with DD, I woke up having a small contraction which made me need a wee. Had my wee, stood up and had a small trickle of water. I carried on having contractions and went into hospital about 12 hours later, just for a check up at that stage. They said it looked like it was my hind waters that had gone and it was very common to have that happen.

I'm 40+4 today. I had a mw appointment yesterday. She offered a sweep so I said yes. But the baby's head isn't engaged at all, I'm only 1cm dilated and my cervix is long so she just couldn't manage the sweep. She said she expects me to be at my post dates appointment at 41+2 as there's just no sign of proper labour yet. Although I am having very very mild contractions, mainly in the evening, but they're clearly not doing much!
I do feel a bit more relaxed now though, as though it's not going to happen quite yet so I'll just forget about it for a bit. DD asked me yesterday why there was another car seat in the car. I don't think she believes me that there will ever be a baby coming out of me!

Congratulations to those who've given birth in the last few days.

brooke89 · 07/12/2012 09:34

Cookiesandcoffee · 07/12/2012 10:01

Congratulations ACJ Thanks
Thanks for the birth story eggnig I absolutely love hearing the stories, when preg or not!! Felix wants hs mummy :) but hope you do et your rms back soon!
Queen I have made myself a similar list! Despite not actually being overue everyone I know thought i would have hd her by now and as the days go on I'm getting more and more depressed. Treat yourself while you still can. I got my eyebrows done yesterday so do go and pamper yourself. I'm having a day of Disney films with dd today to give her full attention for one o the last times.
Thinking of you strawberry look forward to some news.
Good luck gils I really hope she has a successful 'dig' around up there! I'm still bleeding from mine (over 48 hrs ago) is that normal?!
stacey enjoy your relaxing day Xmas Envy maybe a calm and relaxing day is what we need??!

Clarella · 07/12/2012 10:03

Good luck for sweeps - must say have found very helpful for info, though mw last tues claimed I'd had my lot (she's lovely but sticks to rules) the one I've never liked is the one who said u can have as many as you want. So if you want that find a compliant midwife and hold her to ransom Grin a friend of friend had 5 recently! Also, she drew me a picture to explain everything last week which has been helpful.

It can queen if it's the drip. However - my sister ( who gives one of the most positive birth stories I know) had drip, gas and air, and still says it wasn't that painful. No forceps etc. She was induced at 40 weeks as she thought her waters had gone but now wonders if it was sweat, wee or hind waters - generally thinks sweat - but they whipped her in for fear of infection. I have already decided that I'd probably get an epidural if go to drip (birth plans definitely need updating when over due!)

In my now vast experience grilling others, it's worth finding out from hospital exactly what their procedure is - mw contradicted what they told me. Here they use a tablet as it's easier to remove and we get a maximum of 3 around 6 hrs apart, but could be less if things kick off with cervix / contractions. They get to to walk about, climb stairs go buy a sofa as one girl did etc while this is working to get head to press on cervix. Then they break waters if not already gone. If that doesn't work they go to a drip which needs more monitoring. If it has worked though it is possible to go to a pool etc. it could all change if baby not happy though.

Dunno if that helps peeps but I could have done knowing all this last week!

Equimum · 07/12/2012 10:08

Congratulations ACJ

WillYule, both the couple who I knew to be expecting this month have also had their LOs. Really happy for them, but also really Envy. Getting more and more desperate to get this one out, but it's still 17 days until EDD! Impatient, I know Blush

Bugger sorry crap phone !

ISpyDingDongMerrilyOnHigh · 07/12/2012 11:29

Congratulations Acj Thanks.

Eggs - what a lovely birth story. Congrats again.

Queen - fantastic list! Took me back to when I was nearly a fortnight overdue with DS - loved seeing the Shock expressions when I told people when he was due. It really was as if they thought I'd go into labour there and then not a bloody chance, the boy was not for moving.

Clarella - sorry if I came across as suggesting you should go for induction today by posting DS1's birth story. Just thought a positive story might help if you do decide to go ahead at any point. Fwiw, I said no the first time induction was offered to me and the mw who delivered him felt that waiting the two extra days that I did might just have made enough difference to make the induction as effective as it was. Of course, there's no real way of knowing but the key thing is that you're happy with the plan as that's bound to help you be more relaxed etc. Good luck with everything Smile.

MaMaPo · 07/12/2012 12:14

Hello all - sitting here with baby Charlotte after preeclampsia induction on wed. Everything had been brilliant with mobile epidural until she decided to shift back to back, then move her head into properly worst position for delivery. After pushing for an hour or so (to the point of blacking out! 10 for effort) we tried forceps to shift her and then finally a c section. This probably all sounds horrific but I feel v positive about it - I could probably have pushed myself into oblivion but had v supportive anaesthetist and consultant and felt good throughout. And baby is gorgeous, a champion breast feeder and we are v happy parents.

Sorry to dump and run but Lotte needs her first bath! Best of luck to everyone!

HI everyone!
COngratulations all new mummies! (ill catch up with everyones news eventually)

WHAT a week!!!!!

THOMAS ELLIOTT
was born at 19.30 on monday night
here is our story so far!

so i went to the hospital at 3pm on Monday for my scan and CTG monitior,
The scan showed the amnotic fluid had dropped so she was going to recomend that i was induced by the end of the week (yeterday or today)
anyway i was then hooked to the CTG and after 25 minutes the DR came in and asked me how id got to the hospital,
i told her it was by bike, so she sent me to the larger hospital by Ambulance and they began inducing labour,
my husband arrived about 30 minutes after i did, at which point they stopped inducing me preped me for theatre and at 19.30 ran with me through the hospital to have an emergancy c section.

i am so glad they made the decision to do this as it was touch and go for a wee while and we very nearly lost him, but he made a full recovery very quickly about 5 minutes, so they are positive there will be no lasting damage.

he is in special care baby unit now and has been since monday
he is still on oxygen and has had numerous examinations to find out why he was so weak to begin with,
On wednesday we found out he needs an operatoion on his heart when he is about 6 months old, but after then he should make a full recovery!

im still in hospital so i can spend lots of time with him, but its so hard to be away from my other son,
He met his baby brother for the 1st time yesterday and is so full of love for him it made myself DH and all the nurses cry!

Hopefully i will be out on Sunday but think that Thomas will be in here till at least late next week.

anyway hope everyone else is ok and nobody has as traumatic delivery as mine!

kate2boysandabump · 07/12/2012 12:43

Congratulations walnut, acj and mamapo!
