Congratulations Flumpy

Good luck Strawb and Walnut

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 06/12/2012 11:22

Congratulations flumpy another girl to add to our many boys!

Good luck strawb and walnut hopefully not too long until you meet your babies!

And good luck to everyone else with appointments today

Sorry to hear about your bad dream FOD Ive woken up sobbing a few times as they feel so real. Give DP a big hug to reassure yourself.

That's true about induction clarella didn't realise you were 11 days over, they do you at 10 here.

Just woken up at 11am after my night with the 3am club Xmas Blush

ISpyDingDongMerrilyOnHigh · 06/12/2012 11:40

Congratulations Flumpy and welcome Emily (lovely name btw) Thanks.

Good luck Strawberry and Walnut. Also hope the appointments go well Stacey, Ellie and anyone else I've forgotten Blush.

Clarella - when I was induced with DS1, I was 40+12 and had had hardly any signs of anything happening, barely even a bh. Went into labour after the first pessary, and it was fine - no more interventions, about 8 hours from first twinge (four hours 'established'), gas and air, no stiches (and he was a big boy -9lb 2oz). I know it's a massive decision - I agonised for ages, became obsessed with NICE guidelines and googling 'induction stories' etc) but I thought adding another positive experience to the mix might help.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 06/12/2012 11:44

Blimey walnut why five puncture marks and no canula? I've been for a walk and going to watch a bit of tv and have a nap. I thought I would be more scared now but I feel quite calm and safe in the hospital!! Having a bit of pain right now but not much yet.

brooke89 · 06/12/2012 12:11

Ooohhhh I love live labor!

Clarella · 06/12/2012 12:22

Thanks ispy and willyou, yes I'll be +11 ffs it's only 3 days and choice not really there elsewhere! Silly hormonal mummy listening to too much nct crap now googling 'placental degradation in women over 35 at 41 weeks' lol joking (or am I?!?)

Snigger at hand off strawb

Good god walnut that's ridiculous.

MyDaydream · 06/12/2012 12:54

Congratulations flumpy and good luck to ellie, walnut and strawberry.
clarella step away from Google! No good comes from google in these situations. Stop listening to the NCT crap, they're not in your position and since you'll all end up with bouncing babies at the end it doesn't really matter. If you want up do it tomorrow and they're the only thing putting you off you should go tomorrow and ignore them. You never know, the hippy natural ones might have gone for a Friday induction over waiting to see if they'd go natural over the weekend if it was offered to them.

Clarella · 06/12/2012 13:12

Lol not had a chance to read my search due to phone calls etc and can't be bothered now.... that search was to spook me into worrying Monday too late! More important stuff= adjusting bag to include dh entertainment Hmm he was downloading phone game apps this morn which I'm NOT going to sit next to.

kate2boysandabump · 06/12/2012 13:21

Congratulations flumpy!

Good luck strawberry and walnut.

Any firm decision yet clarella? Tell your dh not to forget a contraction timer app!

I've borrowed my dad's bp monitor. I wish I hadn't bothered, it's even higher than yesterday. I predict another long day on DAU tomorrow...

In othervnewd I can't get the electricity to stay on, something keeps shorting the whole house. Unfortunately, I can't get to all the plug sockets to turn them all off, so when the power goes, I have to go.out to the garage and reset the switch with a broom. Do you think it's helping my bp?

Terrywoganstrousers · 06/12/2012 13:32

Congrats to flumpy!!
And good luck to Strawberry, Walnut and Clarella (that all sounds like some sort of weird fruit and nut nougat!)

I had my presentation scan yesterday and baby is indeed head down- hooray! Now I am just fx that my iron levels are up and my home birth will be given the nod! The midwives are dropping off the kit on Monday, and taking blood then, and on Weds I have to get them to ring up for the results at my AN appointment.
I'm kind of hoping they drop the stuff off on Monday and I go into labour that night just to avoid all the rigmarole Grin
i think it'll be ok though- they just need not to have dropped any lower than 10.5 and they were 10.7 at 34 weeks, which I understand is generally the lowest point anyway for iron levels so as I've been taking 2x spatone (yuk) every day I'm desperately hoping they've stayed up!
I'm a little bit worried as I had a definite clear out in the night- vomited a couple of times then had the runs (sorry!) and had crampy period like pains on and off all night, although they did ease off and I haven't had any his morning.
Two things- a) I want to wait till Monday when the home birth stuff is here Grin
b) DP has just departed for Glasgow ( we're in cheshire) and he won't be back until tomorrow evening.

So please mini Terry hold on for another few days!!!!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 06/12/2012 13:43

Right they're lasting 30 seconds every 2 mins....at what point do I speak to mw about this?

StrawberrytallCAKE · 06/12/2012 13:45

FYI contraction app is very much helping me so I second that!!

Walnut8 · 06/12/2012 13:48

How painful strawbs?

This is great distraction ... dh asleep!

Mine all over the place but quite ouchy

pmgkt · 06/12/2012 13:50

Now I would! Good luck

Honeycantthinkofanxmasnickname · 06/12/2012 13:51

Personally I'd prob want MW to have a look around now and see how things are progressing!

pmgkt · 06/12/2012 13:55

So today my car, which already has an alarm problem decided to seize the brake callipers. Garage can do it tomorrow but dh (and spare car) go to Liverpool tomorrow morning (im near southampton) til Monday night. I have hospital tomorrow for breech baby scans and doctors. Luckily my mother and father in law are bailing me out again and going to look after little ds1, drop me to and from hospital then drop me back to pick up the car, just as well my bp was only 98 / 56 this week as I'm sure by now it must have gone up a bit more.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 06/12/2012 14:09

I'm now booked in for induction on mon. DH is trying to fill mil in on how to look after the dcs lol.

Good luck strawberry and walnut

Honeycantthinkofanxmasnickname · 06/12/2012 14:12

Are you pleased stacey?

kate2boysandabump · 06/12/2012 14:21

Your bp is 98/ 56! Mine is 151/ 108 Envy want to swap?

pmgkt · 06/12/2012 14:25

Ha ha Kate.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 06/12/2012 14:50

honey I am tbh, I'd have been happy to stay in and be induced today tbh! Lol I'm completely fed up, my sugars aren't great the meds are making me sick, I can't sleep and I'm never comfy. I think it helps that both dcs were born at 38+5 and on induction I will be 39+1 so I'm not at all worried about it being 'too early' or anything. And I'm thinking my body should be quite happy if it's gone naturally into labour around that time before iykwim.

Clarella · 06/12/2012 15:00

I've got the contraction timer and the car parking app!

Wow strawb Thats impressive! Hope going well!

Booked in for 9.00am though feel I've wasted day smooching :)

FriendofDorothy · 06/12/2012 15:10

I have just seen the midwife. Baby isn't engaged at all :(

She has booked to see me again on the 17th (day after due date) for a sweep to try and get things moving!

Clarella · 06/12/2012 15:16

That's good news stacey :)

I'm sure there's plenty of time to drop by then - lots of all fours floor scrubbing! And I know a first time mum who wasn't engaged right up to birth a week after due date.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 06/12/2012 15:41

They are still coming at same speed but not as painful as I remember them to be. Mw changeover and the new one isn't as nice :( I'm in a labour room now off the ward. Getting through it slowly....
