Oh I love gas & air I think they should have it at pubs! It makes my voice go deep though Blush

Felix is OK. It's just his breathing he keeps needing more oxygen but they said that could be because he's having so much food (28ml/hr!!) anyway just got to do my first breastfeed, well put him on whilst he was being tube fed and after some initial protesting he actually did some sucking. Not sure if he got any milk but I think he will have because my boobs are ready to be pumped right now!

Agree that its lovely reading these birth stories - thank you for sharing.

saw the mw this morning and -after last appt with her and 1 with consultant both thought baby was head down- now she is unsure if baby is head down or breech! Xmas Confused
So off to the hospital tomorrow for a scan. Also my bp is a little high for the first time. Trying not to worry too much so off to dust and mop!

2blessed · 03/12/2012 15:04

Good news about felix spotty, I'm sure its frustrating but he seems to be making progress...

itsMYNutella · 03/12/2012 15:18

Thanks Honey I'm hoping it'll be ok. MW (and my Mum) are soooo relaxed and seem somehow convinced I wont have a problem.... I wish I could believe them... I am trying :) PMA!

Spotty great to hear about Felix! I've had gas and air for gallstones before (they were bloomin painful too, and you can't wee them out like kidney stones - before anyone asks :) ) and I remember enjoying it then... Perhaps I could have DC2 in the UK??? Well I'll see how this one goes first Xmas Grin

FX baby isn't breech blessed! My bean normally behaves and is lying on the left but today managed to move to the right and stayed there while MW was here; then when I sat back up (after MW giving the bump a good feel) the bean's bum seemed to be poking right out and really hurt! Think it's still on the left actually Xmas Hmm

emilyeggs · 03/12/2012 17:43

Mmmmm fizzy cola bottles Smile

emilyeggs · 03/12/2012 17:47

I will now counter act the cola bottles by eating an apple Grin........my god ! I've caught myself watching neighbours!! Haven't seen that for about 15 years!

emilyeggs · 03/12/2012 17:48

Mmmm pink lady Smile

Honeycantthinkofanxmasnickname · 03/12/2012 17:55

I'm hooked on Home and Away and Neighbours *emily - i feel like a teenager again!

Hormonalhell · 03/12/2012 18:01

I've been addicted to Haribo Fangtastic all the way thru this pregnancy Smile

itsMYNutella · 03/12/2012 18:07

emily I remember seeing some Neighbours last time I was in OZ (errr about three years ago now) and because it was ahead of what was on in the UK I wanted to watch but realised I hadn't watched it in the UK for many years.... Can't believe it's still going!

I've been wanting food that shall not be named... but I have a terrible sweet tooth Confused

I have recently received some DVDs of british telly though (via other friends in Germany); then I realised DP has sold the DVD player but I can't wait to figure out how to watch them - while comfortably lounging on the sofa :)

yuletopian99 · 03/12/2012 18:09

Ditto your mmmmm Pink Ladies emily! (that's sounds a bit weird...Hmm)
I've been addicted to apples since being pregnant, with variations of tomatoes/cherries/grapes and recently pickles thrown in for good measure.

I've finally packed my hospital bag! (after much not-so-subtle hinting from DH) I will now proceed to go 14+ days overdue... Saying that have got my starting ppointment booked in today with the accupuncturist though. EDD is 15th Dec, starting appt is the 17th Dec with another to give it a kick up the fundament on the 20th if there's still no action. We shall see.

Still thinking of you and Felix, spotty, but it sounds generally positive?

emilyeggs · 03/12/2012 18:18

Good job I'm not keen on granny smiths yule Wink

MyDaydream · 03/12/2012 18:28

Back from the hospital, I was on the monitor for two hours while waiting for a doctor to see me! I felt really sorry for her, by the time she saw me she was half an hour past home time and still getting loads of calls. They're happy baby was following the right pattern with movement, but he wasn't very strong so they've put a request in for me to have a scan later in the week to check on him, and I have to go back tomorrow for another trace if I'm still not happy with the strength of his wiggles and kicks.

Spotty great news you got to put Felix to breast today, hope his breathing gets regular soon.
Damn all you talking about sweets, I might have to go back out to the shop to buy some. Hormonal if your loving Tangfastics I recommend Natural Confectionery Company fizzy sweets too, they're what me and DP buy when we want a change from Haribos or if they're on offer and cheaper.

emilyeggs · 03/12/2012 18:34

Now for the milk bottles Grin what! It's calcium!

emilyeggs · 03/12/2012 18:35

mydaydream good to hear LO is happy

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 03/12/2012 18:44

Ooh I ate my own body weight in tangfastics/super sour snakes pre-GD. Good job I can't eat them any more, my teeth might fall out!

MaMaPo · 03/12/2012 18:46

Ok ladies, I need a bit of bucking up. Back in for a checkup and now my BP is a bit raised, there's a bit of protein in urine, and I've lost a little bit of fluid. I'm on the trace now and if things are ok I can go home and be induced tomorrow evening.

I'm just a bit in shock! I understand the reason for inducing - my dr thinks I'm developing pre-eclampsia and given I'm 38+ weeks and have a 'favourable' cervix, I see the argument for not waiting for things to go wrong. But still! Just a surprise.

So - dunno what I'm asking for, really. Reassurance? A donation of Dutch courage?

emilyeggs · 03/12/2012 18:52

mama that is a lot to take in but think of what you'll have very soon Smile.

Honeycantthinkofanxmasnickname · 03/12/2012 18:54

Ooh mamapo just think you'll be holding your LO in your arms really soon. It is a shock - part of me thinks it would always come as a bit of a shock even if everything happened exactly as it should. Does that make sense? I think I'm trying to say this whole baby thing is unpredictable and we're lucky that when things do get difficult or go wrong we've got the care and knowledge to keep mum and baby safe.
