Welcome loulu :)

I've got my booking appointment through Yesturday, 7th of January I will be just short of 10wk at this point, had my last ones at 7/8wk, but gp has messed around passing my notes on.

My scan is in 3 days feeling slightly nervous, not really had any more spotting, but suddenly my symptoms seem to have calmed down :/ so now I'm worried xx

LoveBeingAMrs · 21/12/2012 10:17

Hi everyone! Can i join?? I'm 6 weeks today and due 24th Aug! :-) So happy & excited! Got my first drs appt today, this is #1 so not sure what to expect them to do, if anything apart from midwife refferal..?? Also, when do you think the first midwife appt would be?? Looking forward to spending the next 8 months here!! :-) x x

TiredofZombies · 21/12/2012 10:41

Welcome Loulu24 and LoveBeingAMrs

Loulu Sorry you're going it alone, you will get lots of support on here, there are many, many people on here who have been in your position.

Lovebeing I hate to break it to you, but the first appointments are a bit of a non-event! Obviously it's exciting, but they just weigh you and take your blood pressure and ask about your family history.

Still no booking-in appointment for me, I saw my GP over a week ago, but she's a bit useless so not sure how long to wait before I chase it up. Bearing in mind it's Christmas and the post is overloaded.

Welcomemonthlywishes and congratulations

Digitals aren't 100% accurate on dates, it's just a rough guideline. You won't find out for sure until your dating scan (and even then it can be out by a few days)

FoofFighter · 21/12/2012 12:03

Bear in mind that when a digi says 1-2 weeks in reality it means 3-4 weeks pregnant, 2-3 is 4-5 weeks and so on

PurpleDana · 21/12/2012 14:34

lovebeingamrs are u sure your dates are right? I'm only 5wks 3days and due 20th August.

monthly I know the feeling, I'm only 6 weeks, booking in on 7th January and first scan isn't until start of February which is ages away!

I'm just trying to forget about it all for now (and failing miserably) and get on with life and work to make the days go faster.

Just been out for a Christmas lunch at work, my boss knows but the others don't, I think they do now though, I never turn down a good cheese board and only picked at a tiny bit and didn't have a whisky like the rest of them.

LoveBeingAMrs · 21/12/2012 15:46

Thanks tiredofzombies! Just so excited! Hehe!

Yes, sure on dates purpledana, my periods are long so technically im 6 weeks preg but foetal age only 3 weeks, if that makes sense! Lmp was 9th nov! X x

GaryBuseysTeeth · 21/12/2012 16:22

Welcome Lou, Love & monthly!!

My scan went well, there is a heartbeat! 6wk+6 instead of 7 so only a day out!
Now just have to book in with the GP/MW. Feeling really real now.

Hope everyone has a good weekend! x

beckie90 · 21/12/2012 17:05

Midwifes will take it from lmp until you have your dating scan lovesbeenamrs but scan will probs put you a week back again, add 2wks onto your estimated ovulation time, thats will give you a rough dating date xx

Silver15 · 21/12/2012 17:27

Welcome Lou, love and Monthly.

Congs Garybuseys.

I have my booking in appt on 10.01 and scan on 22.01. It feels ages away. I'm still struggling with insomnia and nauseasness. I feel very tired and look forward to some rest over the weekend.

FoofFighter · 21/12/2012 17:33

Have decided that Pregnacare and/or the increased dose of folic acid for higher BMI is making my nausea much worse than it normally is, been awful the last two days but forgot to take it today - going to try taking it before bed instead of at lunch with my main meal.

Thought worth mentioning in case anyone else wants to play around with their time too to see if it helps nausea.

OH offered to order a takeaway tonight, think it's finally clicking for him that I FEEL CRAP!

Starting to dread coping with cooking the Christmas meal for everyone... they will surely guess if I am green and take to my bed afterwards!

FoofFighter · 21/12/2012 17:34

gary fantastic! What could you see? HB?

Mrsd77 · 21/12/2012 17:49

Hi. Welcome to all the new folk and congrats Gary!

I've just had another hcg result after the excitement of 10 days ago. It's in normal range for 7-8 weeks. Should be pleased but docs felt it was quite high initially and it isn't maintaining the same momentum as its increasing. Trying to tell myself to wind my neck in and that the symptoms are strong.

I just find the whole business a bit stressful at times!

Ditsy79 · 21/12/2012 18:57

FoofFighter - my DH is also going to get us a takeaway tonight, I cannot be bothered to cook at the moment and am craving stodge. It's weird because before I was pg, I had a massively sweet tooth, but have completely gone off sweet stuff now and just want savoury things....mmmm cheese!
Feel like I have a constant hangover with the munchies...hope this subsides soon or I'll be huge!
7+6 today, according to my calculations - booking in appt on 2nd Jan, no news of when scan will be yet though (boo).
Off to sis-in-law's for xmas - not told anyone except our parents and my boss yet, hoping to keep it secret until 1st scan, but not sure how easy that's going to be!
Hope all of you are feeling okay anyway.

BlackberryNettle · 21/12/2012 19:43

Hey guys,

Can I join too please? Got my BFP a few days ago. Now only 14 DPO and I'm due 30th August according to the due date calculator. I know thats very early so am desperately trying not to get too excited in case something goes wrong (and failing miserably, I'm over the moon, I've been looking at the mothercare site and next for babies all day). I reeeaaallly don't want anything to go wrong. I've never known time to pass so slowly.

Its also our first so we really don't know what we're doing at all. I can't seem to bring myself to book a doctors appt in case it jinxes it all somehow.

No idea how I'm going to hide it either. The moment I go no thank you to a glass of vino the world will know!

If I sound slightly hysterical it's because I am.

xxx

TotallyEggFlipped · 21/12/2012 19:45

I made my scan appointment today. 4th of January.

Most of my symptoms seem to have disappeared - I'm not really all that nauseated any more, I've got done energy back, I don't feel hungover, I'm sleeping a bit better and I'm not constipated any more either. I think I remember this happening last time too - feeling much better in the couple of weeks before the scan and worrying it meant there was gone thing wrong. I still find it difficult to figure out what I want to eat and I definitely have some food aversions, so taking that as a positive sign.

stickybeans · 21/12/2012 19:51

Ok well I guess I'll come outta hiding and actually join lol. Hello everyone!! :-)
I am 7 weeks today with dc#1. I've been so nervous (still am) b/c of mmc at 9 weeks back in July. I've had an early scan and I could see my little bean and it's heartbeat so I feel a little more optimistic.
I see a few familiar faces
Wishing you all happy and healthy 9 months!!

Yvonney · 21/12/2012 20:27

Hi all
Blackberrynettle - I know exactly what you mean, I'm due 26th August so early days for me too but its all I can think about! And I can also admit to looking at Mothercare website and New Look maternity clothes! Shock Just praying everything will be okay. We have a son aged 7 who I'm dying to tell but will def wait for the scan. I was on here all the time with my last pregnancy, its great sharing symptoms, etc, especially if you haven't told anyone yet! Hope everyone has happy & healthy pregnancies xxx Smile

TiredofZombies · 21/12/2012 21:47

Hello newbies, congratulations :)

Anyone else covered in spots? Bloody hormones have a lot to answer for. On the plus side, DP told me I was "blooming" again today. Bless him. I'm not, I just made an effort to do my hair for once.

Chuckaluck · 22/12/2012 05:37

Hello newbies, congrats to all.

Anyone else struggling to sleep? I am so tired but wide awake at 5am every day! So annoying!

Also my bras have started cutting in so need to get some maternity ones ASAP. Anyone recommend anywhere for larger sizes? I am already a 40D!!!

shineypeacock · 22/12/2012 06:30

Had flu jab and antenatel bloods done in the last few weeks, booking in on new years eve with midwife, ive already had 1 appt and got my scan appr through for 16/1/13 so all really happening!

I have been feeling rough as a badgers arse fir about 2 weeks, nausea but not sick, tired, but then up for a wee in the night, and cant get backgto sleep and a snotty cold which every time i sneeze makes me want to vom! Lovely!!

Hope all of you lovely ladies are well and wishing you alk the merriest soberist yummy food free christmas and new year xxxx

Ditsy79 · 22/12/2012 07:38

Chuckaluck - I went to Bravissimo for my bras. Had gone up 1 back size and 2 cupsizes by the time I was 5 weeks! They have loads of options. I am still wearing underwired, but will have to get proper maternity bras in a few months. I got some crop tops from m+s to sleep in.
