Congratulations toomany. Glad she arrived safely in the end. Good luck to all those hanging on in there.

MissMummy1 · 06/12/2012 03:35

Congrats dicks - sorry your homebirth didn't go well but she's here safely and that's all that matters! LOVE her name - Scarlett was one of my favs. Thanks

StuntNun · 06/12/2012 04:17

Congratulations Dick, what am eventful birth. What position was she in? Take it really easy for a while: the less you do, the faster you will heal.

Oran Robert Paton, born 12.33 06/12/12.
Wow, that was bloody sore! No time for pain relief, not allowed in the pool as his heart rate was dropping with every contraction. But got him out fast and can't believe he's here or that he's a boy or that I managed to push him out!! My throat is very sore from screaming through the gas and air tube. He is very cute! I'm fairly broken!

mrswee · 06/12/2012 04:26

Congratulations toomany I have been thinking about you!
Oran had his cord wrapped, hence the contractions dropping. He's fine though and very sleepy! Like his mummy

Chunkychicken · 06/12/2012 04:43

Congratulations mrswee that's how I felt about A - its a boy??!!! Shock DS also had his cord around his neck, but more slung around it like a scarf, so he was fine. Hope he let's you get some rest.

Clarella · 06/12/2012 04:46

Oh huge congratulations mrswee and toomany! Well done both of you! So pleased!

Been a bit upset that I've been agonizing over taking the induction on Friday over Monday - is it such a bad thing?

Catbag · 06/12/2012 04:48

Yey! Congrats dicks and mrswee! More graduates! Don't forgot to put pics on the FB group so that we can all coo over the babies! How many people are left to pop now?

NervousAt20 · 06/12/2012 05:00

Congratulations to all Xmas Smile hope all mummies and babies are doing well and the babies thy are over due make appearances soon

MissMummy1 · 06/12/2012 05:33

Yay for mrswee - the screaming helps doesn't it?! Gorgeous name, well done you xxx

Bryzoan · 06/12/2012 05:43

Huge congratulations mrswee! Well done. Hope you can both get some rest and that you mend well and quickly.

Clarella - is it just you now? Sorry to hear you are fretting re induction. How far over are you? It is so hard to know what is best. I was having the same quandary about my induction booked for 42+1 before Gregory rocked up bang on 42... Whichever way you go I am sureyou'll have snuggles soon.

Bryzoan · 06/12/2012 05:51

Oh - and mummytobe - who was being induced yesterday - hope she is having snuggles now too ...

TheDetective · 06/12/2012 06:17

So, this will be the thread when all the babies arrive then?!

Congratulations mrswee! Love the name! :)

Clarella · 06/12/2012 06:27

Yes just mummytobe n me - i will be 40+11 on Friday so 42 on Monday. Hope mummy is doing well?!

I'm feeling it's pretty inevitable either way tbh no faith in this cervix! He's been 1/5 since tues and prob since last week and 3/5 since 36 wks or before. My bhs have tailed off even cm is less than earlier! Seeing mw in morn for another check but I tried and got nowhere before!

pikz · 06/12/2012 06:34

Congratulations toomany and mrswee. Come on miniclarella!

mrswee · 06/12/2012 07:00

Not a wink of sleep in this ward. Well Oran has slept well none of the others did.
The woman opposite is actually taking the piss, fair enough she's just had a baby but every time it so much murmurs she presses the alarm rather than doing anything else and even got someone to do a 'nappy check and Change' twice since 4am!!! She doesn't have any nappies with her either. May be she is one if those people who went to a&e with stomach ache and came out with a baby!! All the babies in this ward are being bottle fed too which means they are windy and puking! And I'm a bit grumpy cause I only arrived in the ward at 3am no rest for me!

clarella try not stress about induction. Anything can happen no matter how you go into labour. I went natural both times but couldn't use the pool for either birth.. With my first I got a syntocin drip after not progressing, so got induced any way. I discussed induction with my midwife yesterday and you know there is just as much chance you can have a fairly natural labour that is just kick started by the gel or pessary.
Good luck in the mean time.
I went from contraction 6-3 mins apart at 10pm to 2 mins apart at 10.30... 3cm- to fully in 1.5 hours.

Clarella · 06/12/2012 07:27

Ah well done Oran! A model baby from the outset! Clever boy!

Thanks Mrswee for the advice :)

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 06/12/2012 07:54

Congratulations mrswee! I only stayed in hospital one night due to lack of sleep. Also loving your name choice, another welsh name or is it Scottish as well?

Good luck clarella, my waters broke an hour after dtd. Maybe give that a try?

I hope you're enjoying snuggles mummytobe!

I'm feeling loads better now, DH kept Bronwen downstairs last night, only bringing her to me for feeds. I slept from 9-11.30pm then from 12-7am. I feel like a new person! Can't believe she slept 7 hours. My milk has also come in, yeah!

Dixiebell · 06/12/2012 08:11

Congrats mrswee!! Love the name Oran. I hate hospital wards. The mws saying, sleep when baby does, then they wake you with drugs rounds, PBS, talking loudly, other people's babies crying, the inevitable snorers....and then when you've given up trying to sleep and just want a cuppa and some breakfast, there's no sign of anyone!!! Hope you get home soon. Oh yes, waiting around all day to be discharged..another of hospital's delights!!! And hope your DD is good with Oran. DS1 is getting much more comfortable and sweet with Teddy.

Dixiebell · 06/12/2012 08:11

PBS? Obs.

georgee · 06/12/2012 08:42

Hoorah and congratulations to toomanydicks and mrswee! Fab names. Hope you get out of there soon mrswee. Just keep making a nuisance of yourself until your paperwork's done. I had to keep reminding them I was still there! xx

StuntNun · 06/12/2012 10:32

Congratulations MrsWee. Why do babies always seem to arrive in the middle of the night? Hopefully you'll get out of hospital quickly with having no complications.

Congrats mrswee and toomany

Fingers crossed for you clarella. We will have the bunting ready for you.

Looking forward to hearing from mummy

Clarella · 06/12/2012 15:23

I know some would say wait plus the sphincter theory but this cervix hasn't budged. Had sweep three (at least an attempt to reach it) this am and again baby's head in way! Ill be 40+11 tomorrow and it's been pointed out some places would have whipped me in yesterday. So of I trot at 9.am tomorrow!

blonderthanred · 06/12/2012 15:47

Good luck Clarella, hope it all goes well.

Congrats dicks & wee! Great names.
