Ooo where's you catbag?

Chunkychicken · 05/12/2012 10:24

Clarella I think if you go into induction with a PMA it can be good. A RL friend had induction 3wks ago & the way she talks about it, you'd think it was horrendous but she is very positive about it all. Just try to be active etc.

And anything can happen in a week - my DD was only 1/5 engaged a wk before I went into labour & I'd had no BH or signs before my show. DS (this time) was engaged for weeks before he got his act together....

Clarella · 05/12/2012 10:41

(Pma - pos mental attitude?! Or a pessary?!)

Now friends are saying maybe wait - but I accepted! Argh!!

Iheartpasties · 05/12/2012 10:45

toomanydicks snuggling a baby? hope so!

Iheartpasties · 05/12/2012 10:50

mummytobe1990 · 05/12/2012 11:50

right, im leaving in a min for the hospital (induction is at 1) fc it all goes smoothly and they allow me in the pool....hopefully next time i speak to you all i will be a mummy!! Xmas Grin

DH is surprisingly calm about it at the moment, i thought he would be a nervous wreck by now (theres still plenty of time haha)

good luck to you both clarella and mrswee

looking forward to newborn snuggles and a LARGE Wine hahaha

mrswee · 05/12/2012 11:56

Well .... Every 10 mins for the last hour... Fingers crossed it doesn't tale off! .... Is this the last post?

Clarella · 05/12/2012 12:04

Ooooo Mrs wee! Think we have 100 messages left?

All the best mrsmummy!

After wasting morning dithering I'm taking induction on Fri, more chance to take time etc.

Bryzoan · 05/12/2012 12:19

Good luck mrswee and mummy! Very exciting.

Clarella - I was 1/5 palpable but with a very high / posterior cervix too. Cervix didn't come down till I was in active labour (a total of 3 hrs to snuggles). Don't worry. Just keep in lots of good positions (all fours / sitting on ball not slouching) to help him /her keep in a good position, and look forward to cuddles Friday if not before!

Clarella · 05/12/2012 12:26

Ah thanks bry, good to hear stuff like that!

Going to do long over due wool hand washing over bath!

mrswee · 05/12/2012 13:15

Well a bit irratic now but still averaging 10 mins and completely manageable. I have midwife appointment in 40 mins.. It's only a 5/10 min hobble down the rd. I think I will go anyway but it might risk everything tailing off. However if it stops later anyway and I missed my chance of a sweep I will be annoyed! The walk might ramp it up or bring it down., who knows!

Clarella · 05/12/2012 13:23

Good luck mrswee!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/12/2012 14:26

Good luck all of you.

Xx

Catbag · 05/12/2012 14:28

I'm in the Dales clarella, near Catterick Garrison, about 50 mins from Newcastle. My husband was working up there most of this year on his industrial placement :)

MissMummy1 · 05/12/2012 14:55

Good luck mummytobe and fc this is it mrswee!!! My contractions were in bursts of regular and irregular cycles ranging from 3 - 15 mins. Everytime I thought there were loads close together i'd do something and they'd become irregular again. The most productive contractions I had were 10 mins apart when I was high on diamorphine - they were so powerful they helped me go from 4 - 9 cms in about 3 hours!! All the very best to you lovely xxx

Clarella it really won't be long for you now x

mrswee · 05/12/2012 15:20

Good to know mm!

They tailed of when I got up to get ready for the midwife. Had a sweep cervix stil longish now 1-2 cm rather than 3 last week. Got and induction date for Monday.
However when for a walk to tesco after the midwife and had 3 contractions in tesco in less than 15 mins and 3 on the way home.. Wasn't timing them but they felt fairly close together.. I wonder if they will keep on now I'm home. Bouncing on my ball for now and back to timing!

Clarella · 05/12/2012 15:30

Oh all the best mrswee! My bhs have returned with avengance but probably just wind/lunch lol!

Chatted to mw who offered an exam tomorrow am and maybe I guess she can sweep at some time, saying I can decide to cancel the Friday date if I felt it was wrong - I don't know if it will help the decision either way though but might mean it won't take much to get going if I go in on Friday. I was destined for doc led bit anyway due to anxiety earlier in pregnancy (though was originally told due to thyroid however that turned out fine!!) I'm watching crazy snow piling up here too.

Waves at catbag - he's not here today though is he? Might struggle to get back :/

mrswee · 05/12/2012 17:56

Thanks clarella

Irratic timings just now. If I go out for a walk they get to 3-4 mins but siting on my ball more like 5-10
Have got DD at a friends for a night DH is just picking her up from nursery and taking her so she doesn't get too freaked out. I have no idea if it will happen tonight or not but at least I won't have to worry about her. I'm just a bit concerned she will need looked after again tomorrow and the next day if today is a false alarm. She might be a bit miffed about that!

Good luck mrswee (waves from one part of Edinburgh to another), sounds like this is it kicking off! The timings were similar with me for a bit, I had to move around to keep the momentum up for a while. Then they just did it on their own! If all goes well, fingers crossed for a nice empty Simpsons for you. My midwife was nice. She was called Lynn. x

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 05/12/2012 20:55

I'm home. Bronwen Scarlett Adderson was born last night at 6.28pm weighing 7lb 11oz.

Home birth was going well, fully dilated by 11am using just water and entenox. I pushed for hours trying all different positions but it became clear that the baby was stuck. I was blue-lighted to hospital in agony, contracting hard every 2 mins. She was badly positioned so they decided to do a c-section. I could have kissed the anaesthetist! I'm feeling battered and bruised but left hospital 24 hours later. Good luck to all of the ladies still waiting, I'll have to catch up tomorrow as I have only had 4 hours sleep in the last 48 hours.

Chunkychicken · 05/12/2012 21:01

Congrats toomany lovely name. Shame about the blue-lighting etc, but at least she got here safe.

YellowWellies · 05/12/2012 21:06

Congrats on the safe arrival toomany you gave your home birth the best go but sometimes if they present wrong they present wrong. Mine was a typical bloke and got lost after failing to ask for directions - ventouse it was and lo and behold he was a star gazer / back to back. I love her name xxx

Bryzoan · 05/12/2012 21:18

Congratulations toomany - what a beautiful name. The pushing and blue lighting sounds horrid - am so glad all is well. Big hugs, hope some rest comes your way and you recover well from your section.

Iheartpasties · 05/12/2012 21:33

toomany congrats! All's well that ends well :)
