MissMummy1 · 02/12/2012 13:40

Thanks ladies! Had a LONG soak in the bath. Helped for a while and got up to 4-5 mins apart but rhen became a bit irregular again when I came out. Now.averaging about 5-6mins. MLU dont want me to come in before theyre 3 in every 10. They're gettong.fecking sore though!!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/12/2012 14:09

MM do some ball bouncing and sort of swayey dancing, rocking from foot to foot when you have a contraction, helps jiggle the head down more! And also seems to help the pain, for me anyway, a bit! Have you got a Tens on?

Am sitting here in silent support while DH watches the football.

Xx

Ooo rooting for you mm!!!

I'm being induced exactly at 14 days over, newcastle. But, it's occurred to me that induction could go on for a couple of days?!

Passmethecrisps · 02/12/2012 15:14

It could clarella - mine lasted about 11 hours from first monitoring to birth though.

FatimaLovesBread · 02/12/2012 16:07

Just popped on to try catch up, good luck MM!

Clarella · 02/12/2012 17:05

Where can I find out about what actually happens in a 42 wk induction? Will I go home? Someone at nct went to john Lewis and bought a sofa but I've not actually seen her to find out ins and outs - she had a c section in the end. Tried to look at nice guidelines but not very informative beyond basic offers and rights etc.

Hope all's well mm!

mrswee · 02/12/2012 18:07

your midwife should be able to tell you really because every hospital will have a different policy.
I know at my hospital the give you a pessary on day one monitor you for a while (not sure how long) and send you home if nothing happens then another on day two and then they try and break your waters, then 24 hrs after that if nothing still happens or progress is slow it's a sytocin drip. so in theory you should have baby with in 36hrs of the date latest.

Clarella · 02/12/2012 18:22

Thanks Mrswee, seeing them for sweep on tues so will get the low down then.

Passmethecrisps · 02/12/2012 18:39

clarella it will depend on how favourable your cervix is. When I went in I was examined and given a 'score' out of 10. I was 7 which meant that my cervix was long and thin and pretty favourable so I was given gel. Our health board won't let you leave the premises after you have had the gel so once I was in I wasn't leaving. Had the score been 4 or less I would have been given the pessary.

I ended up having two lots of gel and sweeps. It made the contractions very fast and hard - almost on top of each other for the duration - but very effective!

Passmethecrisps · 02/12/2012 18:46

Just checked - it's called a Bishop's score. Apparently it is out of 13.

MissMummy1 · 02/12/2012 18:57

after 15 hours of contractions i caved and came in to be checked. 4cm. they wont let me leave. internals are fucking painful Sad

mummytobe1990 · 02/12/2012 19:02

mrswee it probably was me haha im being induced at 7 days over...i have to admit i was shocked they were prepared to do it that early!

horseylady · 02/12/2012 19:04

Mm good luck!! I went in at 5cm!! Internals do hurt. A lot!!

mummytobe1990 · 02/12/2012 19:07

hugs missmummy at least this is it now, fingers crossed it wont be too long....it could be a pretty cool birthday 21212 haha x

TheDetective · 02/12/2012 19:14

MM They won't let you leave because you are now in active labour, silly Wink.

You are going to get your baby! Will it be 21212?

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 02/12/2012 19:25

Fab news mm!

My dd has suddenly come over ill, high temp and feeling sick and I've started contracting. Son's law! I think it's just stress, it'll probably stop soon.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/12/2012 19:32

Brilliant mm, this is it! We're all with you! Xx

Chunkychicken · 02/12/2012 19:51

I went from 4cm to baby in less than 90mins MM so it could be very soon. All the best :)

Passmethecrisps · 02/12/2012 20:14

Ack!! How exciting!!

MissMummy1 · 02/12/2012 20:32

Will try and no doubt fail to keep updating! Bouncing on ball. Really sore but dh is being totally fabby. Apparently I'm dehydrated (probably all the vomming) so downing lots of fluids in a last ditched attempt to avoid an IV. Never doing this again!!!

Passmethecrisps · 02/12/2012 20:36

I am very excited for you MM! Keep on bouncing!

I dreamt last night that I was pregnant again. I woke with a proper jump. Not bloody likely.

Bryzoan · 02/12/2012 20:39

Don't get too hung up on the cm missmummy - just focus on the fact that each pain means you're that bit closer. Sending you strength and good vibes.

Toomanydicks - sorry to hear dd is poorly. Good luck with the early contractions - may they either continue or stop according to your preference!

YellowWellies · 02/12/2012 20:49

MM you wait until you see your baby - you'd do it again in a heartbeat hon. It sounds like you are going really well. Well done Mrs! You can do this xxxxx

jenbird · 02/12/2012 21:27

Good luck MM x
