oh and I will head up town on my own to get my eye brows done, tempting fate.. DH is currently 2 hours away dropping of DD but even that fate isn't working

I some how have managed to paint my toe nails today, although not very neat.. by th etime I've soaked in the bath a few times they will be ok!!

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 30/11/2012 10:57

I've been burning clary sage, rubbing it into my belly, moonbathing, eating the hottest chilli ever, eating pineapple, drinking pure pineapple juice and DTD. Haven't tried nipple stimulation yet, might get my electric pump on them later. It's rubbish waiting isn't it Sad

MissMummy1 · 30/11/2012 12:31

will keep taking it then. can't remember where I heard it, probably making it up lol!

mrswee when was your due date again? and how far over will they let you go?

i've tried everything bar clary sage and dtd, but having heard no success stories from either i might give both a miss! Hmm

both dp and i were 2 days late, but then my sister was 19 days late(!) so I don't think it counts for anything. ho hum, off to book a 41 week appointment for next week hopefully biggest fate tempting exercise to date !

YellowWellies · 30/11/2012 12:47

Mummytobe my cat woke me up by pawing on the bedside table and miaowing at me literally 2 minutes before my waters went. I am POSITIVE he knew what was about to happen or caused it to happen by waking me up at 6am little fecker.

YellowWellies · 30/11/2012 12:53

MM your mother's birthing experiences are the most likely predictors of your own - so it might be that you are due a late baby particularly if your DP was late too. Mindst didn't your Mum have amazingly straightforward births - so FC that's a ray of hope. A late but smooth birth would be something I'd be happy with. DH and I were both early babies as was Jonas so there might be something in it.

DH is nattering to get the tree. I'm half Polish and we never used to put the tree up until Christmas Eve - but DH is far too excited. Think I might relent and sit on my fat arse BFing whilst he puts it up and I direct him where to put the decs Grin

mummytobe1990 · 30/11/2012 13:09

tooManyDicks mrswee yes im still waiting too :( i woke up last night with really quite painful contractions but when they got to 8 mins apart they just stopped :S so frustrating. ive given upon the idea of a november baby haha the 1st december seems as good a birthday as any now!

Has anybody heard from dixie ??

MissMummy1 · 30/11/2012 13:17

Sorry Fee was 9 days late - don't know why phone stuck in an extra 1! But yeah we were all ridiculoulsy straight forward, uber quick labours (with the youngest 2 she only made it to hospital with 5 and 10 minutes to spare). My mum has a much higher pain threshold than me mind! Anyway I'd be very happy to inherit my mum's fabby birthing skills, even if it means waiting a day or week two later!

MissMummy1 · 30/11/2012 13:18

I'm thinking 2nd decemeber looks nice written down - 21212. Plus it will be harder for inlaws to get flights on a sunday - my bad? Blush

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 30/11/2012 13:18

When were you due mummytobe?

Dixie is very quiet today.

YW- we're thinking of putting the tree up this weekend.

mummytobe1990 · 30/11/2012 13:38

TooManyDicks i was due 28th same as you i think,

mm i like your thinking!!!

YellowWellies · 30/11/2012 13:52

Haha on the flights MM! And don't worry about the pain. Honestly. It's weird but you will handle it fine.

Anyone else think Dixie is a-snuggling with a newborn?

mummytobe1990 · 30/11/2012 13:55

aww i hope she is, a couple more november babies would be nice x

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 30/11/2012 14:50

I hope she is too x

mrswee · 30/11/2012 15:01

mm my due date was Tuesday the 27th so I am only 3 days over right now. It's not been discussed as yet but I guess they will let me go two weeks over.. my next MW appointment isnt until next thurday so if it comes to it will already be 9 days over before induction is even discussed or booked in.
I went 11 days over with DD and she was born on the day I was due to start induction with a pesseray. However I had started contractions on 5 days over and went was finally allowed in hospital at 10 days over, did not progress well overnight so on 11th day when I was booked in anyway I got second stage induction where they put me on a syntocin drip and skipped the pessary bit.
So it's really hard to tell what will happen.. If I start the contractions at the same time as I did with DD but progress normally then it could be done by the weekend.. but who knows
I have had a couple of dull period type pains the last two mornings on waking but not even one braxton hick the who pregnancy!!

MissMummy1 · 30/11/2012 15:27

FC mrswee that baby will make a much speedier arrival before you need to worry about inductions!

I've just booked a 'postdates' appointment for next friday (41+1) where they'll do a sweep and discuss induction. This seems to be Fife's policy, although I've been told by separate midwives they'll let me go 10 and 14 days over Hmm

YW I've just received a BEAUTIFUL Jonas postcard in the post - where did you get them made?! Such a lovely, personal idea!

MissMummy1 · 30/11/2012 15:39

I no longer feel bad about not being able to pull my ever increasing weight with this back thing. Man flu and nightshifts have rendered dp a completely more so than usual useless twunt. The one thing he had to do last night/first thing this morning was put the bin out (I even texted him to remind him). Guess whose landfill bin is going to be overflowing until they empty them again next month? Twunt. (my new favourite word - thank you MN!)

YellowWellies · 30/11/2012 15:45

Awww thanks MM. Ads took the photo, I added filters and black and white effects on my Mac and we got them made up by Snapfish - online. They were super quick and a good price too. The delay getting them out to people was entirely our fault. Well actually entirely Jonas' fault for being permanently attached to my boobs. He is currently snoozing in a sling and I've managed to hang out washing, cook lunch and do the washing up. I didn't fancy cleaning the bathroom with him attached - too many fumes too lazy but otherwise am pretty chuffed I'm starting to get stuff done. Can't wait to be back in Fife so we have playmates! Fingers crossed this weekend is THE weekend for all of you so you can avoid induction.

YellowWellies · 30/11/2012 15:46

What's all this about 'pulling your weight' - errr you've been making a baby for nine months - that's sooooooo much more than pulling your weight. xxx

Dixiebell · 30/11/2012 16:09

Just a quickie...Ted Victor (Teddy) born today at 14.41. God that hurt! He's gorgeous and BFing like a good un.

TheDetective · 30/11/2012 16:13

Congratulations Dixie! I'm getting all emotional thinking how wonderful that first meeting is! Enjoy!

YellowWellies · 30/11/2012 16:14

Damnit I was 50 minutes early in assuming you were cuddling a newborn Dixie. I love his name and great to hear he's on the boob already (and you're on MN already) - wonder woman or what? Enjoy him. They change so quickly I swear you can see them grow. Some days Jonas looks totally different from morning to evening. Let us know more about the birth when you are up to it. Many congrats and lots of love xxxx

MissMummy1 · 30/11/2012 16:18

Aww congrats dixie ! Lovely lovely name Grin

They're fab yw - and top marks to Ads for his great photography! I'm thinking a sling might be a wise investment after all. Will suggest it to my mum (who has been asking every day for weeks what she can buy...).

Re weight pulling, I have left everything to him over the past week. It's a culture shock to both of us - I am much happier doing everything properly myself around the house. Maybe my body is forcing me to go against my OCD in preparation for baby clutter? Hmm Grin

mummytobe1990 · 30/11/2012 16:54

yay congrats dixie love the name .... enjoy :)

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 30/11/2012 16:59

Yeah! Congratulations dixiebell, great name, my friend's got a Teddy. Really want mine to be born now, although I'm a bit scared about the pain.

mrswee · 30/11/2012 16:59

Congratulations Dixie! Nice name indeed one that is in the back of my mind, just looking for an Edward in the family line so I can easily justify it!

And then there was 4...! Is that right only 4 of us left or is it 3?
