mrswee · 29/11/2012 21:04

oh and mummytobe1990..

anyone else?

MissMummy1 · 29/11/2012 21:19

It is FAR TOO QUIET Sad

Ball bouncing proving fruitless too. Feck. I'm going to be here in 10 days time, I just know it. Confused

Sophiathesnowfairy · 29/11/2012 21:35

Try some reflexology mm, good for your back and bringing on labour as well as a relaxing treat.........will be a long time till you get one of those.

MissMummy1 · 29/11/2012 21:44

Now there's an idea! I've done some yoga tonight, don't know if it's done any good but I'm feeling very chilled. My back's not as sore today - don't know if I'm just getting used to the pain or if the paracetamol is actually taking effect? I've been taking it for 3 days so going to try and go tomorrow without it. I'm still hobbling like a cripple though - it's hilarious watching strangers' reactions!

mummytobe1990 · 29/11/2012 21:54

im also bouncing on birthing ball......so fed up....jus want her to hurry up now

mummytobe1990 · 29/11/2012 22:19

bit random but what are peoples thoughts on cats being able to detect labour? true or old wives tale? my girl has been very off this evening and seems really quite agitated but wont leave my side....

Dixiebell · 29/11/2012 22:28

How about some kind of prize for the poor loner who ends up last on this thread?! mrswee, I was the same as you with DS, was on the sept 2010 thread, due 26th but DS didn't come until 4 oct. I think he was last on that thread. Looks like will be another interloper on the nov 12 postnatal thread with a dec baby!!

Anyone planning on putting up Xmas decorations soon? We're wondering whether to get our tree this weekend. Don't normally do it so early but DH is unusually excited about it this year. I have got lots of pressies bought, was planning to wrap them later but just occurred to me that everyone will be visiting and it would be ideal to hand them over when they come to see new baby, so perhaps ought to wrap now. But what names to write on the cards? It would feel like tempting fate to put new baby's name in writing before he arrives!

mummytobe1990 · 29/11/2012 22:37

I wasnt going to bother this year with it being our first baby and we only live in a little flat but the DH is adament that he wants a tree up anyway!!

I know what you mean about the cards tho, we are going to have all the cards written out so all we have to do is add bubbas name and then seal them at the last minute.

MissMummy1 · 29/11/2012 23:00

We're putting the tree up at the weekend. Was going to do it last night before dp switched onto nights but we went to the cinema instead (and it wasn't December yet....). It's our first Christmas in our new home and with our first baby and the world's two biggest scrooges are incredibly excited this year!! Grin I've written and addressed cards but not signed them. We don't have many to buy for this year - I've bought all of dp's pressies, we're doing hampers for our parents so filling them up as we go along and just need to get pyjamas to go in with our nieces presents (I'm sure dp can manage that...)!

I've had a bath. Feeling super chilled! (Despite the fact my 17 year old little sister is practically babysitting me while dp is offshore overnight Blush )

Dixiebell · 30/11/2012 01:54

Ok, irony dictates that after my last post I think I'm having contractions. About every 15-20 mins I think although I'm trying to sleep so keep losing track of time. And not overly painful. Keep thinking of things I need to do, like pack last min stuff in my bag, have a shower...! But don't want to disturb DS or DH. Gonna try sleeping a bit more I think...

mummytobe1990 · 30/11/2012 02:03

ooo fingers crossed dixiebell i keep getting pains in my lower back but ive done quite a bit today so im not sure if its just where ive overdone it or not

Dixiebell · 30/11/2012 02:33

Ouch...

Chunkychicken · 30/11/2012 04:17

Good luck dixie.

Iheartpasties · 30/11/2012 04:22

dixiebell good luck to you, keep us posted x

TheDetective · 30/11/2012 06:36

Get everything ready for Xmas NOW coz you won't feel like doing a thing once the baby arrives! Our decs usually go up on 1st. I don't think that is gonna be happening this year! Maybe the weekend after?

Between my sore arse and feeding, not much else is getting done and Christmas is creeping closer and closer!

Good luck Dixie!

TheDetective · 30/11/2012 06:36

MM do not stop taking the paracetomol just yet!!!!

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 30/11/2012 07:07

mummytobe- last time I went into labour my dog was acting strangely, he kept pacing the floor in circles around me and wouldn't leave my side. I went into labour the next morning.

Are you still contracting dixiebell?

pikz · 30/11/2012 07:18

Come on Nov babies... Be good for mummies!

Can't believe it's a week today, this time last week I had no clue Luc would be born in less than 12 hours time. Not even one inkling.

MissMummy1 · 30/11/2012 07:51

good luck dixie!! Smile Envy

detective i read that you shouldn't take it for longer than 3 days when pregnant? hmm.. maybe one more day then, it made such a difference being able to do little things yesterday without crying! Blush

my idiot sister who stayed last night has missed her bus this morning so a very unimpressed dp (he cant get over how much my mum and dad pander to her) is driving her to college while i stay in bed with a bacon sandwich. fab! Grin

mrswee · 30/11/2012 08:50

where did you read that mm? as far as I know it can't do the baby or you harm. Esspecially if it's helping, really I would keep taking it. Now if it was paracetomol and codiene that would be different, it would b 3 days at a time except with medical advise, the hosptial had me on codiene for 10 days then said to just eep taking paracetomol so it can't be that bad for you or baby or they wouldn't have said so. Really I would keep taking it, it's making yo feel better and will continue to do that. if you are worried just drop one dose a day.

Good luck Dixie you are my due date partner so it give me hope.

TheDetective · 30/11/2012 10:08

Paracetomol is fine as long as no more than 8 tabs of 500g in 24 hours. You can take for longer than 3 days but if you are worried just ring GP and check :)

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 30/11/2012 10:17

Well I've decided I don't want my baby to come today anyway, it would have to share it's birthday with another family member. 1st December sounds much better anyway! Am I convincing anyone? I'm going for reverse psychology.

Good luck today MM1, Dixiebell, mummytobe and mrswee (are you still waiting? Can't remember)

mrswee · 30/11/2012 10:39

yes STILL waiting!
I was hoping for today/tonight as DD is already at her grannys so very convienient.. but although the baby feels lower I can't see it happening dispite in the last 24 hrs trying a lot of clary sage, self reflexology, expressing, pineapple, going to work for the day to do training, bouncing on the ball in front of the moon oh and DTD. FFS I don't think anything works... hot curry tonight and possible more DTD although I really can't be bothered!
