Hi all, quick update from me. James George Archie born this morning at 2.19 weighing 8lbs 2.5 oz. VBAC which I'm quite pleased about. Got to the hospital at about 7.45 last night. Used TENS, pool, gas and air, then nothing for the pushing which was a long haul actually until they realised they needed to do an episiotomy to give me any chance of getting him out! So I'm finding it hard to sit down but the recovery is loads better so far than the EMCS I had last time. And we're home after less than 24 hours!

He looks like a little old man with a very serious face - as befits a boy named for three of his great grandfathers! Will post a pic on Facebook in the next couple of days.

Hang in there all those waiting - it really will happen!

x

Congratulations georgee! Great news Smile

The full moon seems to have started some braxton hicks for me and I've had a bit of a show so I might have a werewolf baby after all.

Dixiebell · 28/11/2012 17:33

Congrats georgee, it was your waters then! Lovely set of names :)

StuntNun · 28/11/2012 17:36

Congratulations Georgee, another James as well! So glad to hear you got your VBAC, it's such a relief after having a section isn't it.

Oh georgee well done hon. I love hearing about successful VBACs. Love the names. My wee boy has a very serious face too - it's so appealing - especially when BF (typically in the wee small hours) and he fixes me with a calm ageless gaze - he seems so wise for one so wee.

Don't forget witchhazel BP liquid on maternity towels - and to get your stitches cut on day 4/5 if they get too tight - episiotomies are really not that bad (says the woman determined not to have one) to recover from so long as you stay infection free (hence the witch hazel). I'm now even at the stage of contemplating DTD!!!!

mrswee · 28/11/2012 17:47

Congratulations Georgee I have been checking for news from you today... I was sure it must have been hapening! I only just checked and thought.. I can't resist another check and there you are. Good to here every thing went pretty well. Did you get the use the birthing centre at simpsons? answer me later when you get the chance, don't worry for now!

mrswee · 28/11/2012 17:52

are you YW I was told I was geting an episiotomy the last time to which, after being pretty chilled all the way through my difficult labour, I looked at the consultant with pure fear on my face and yelled no! So she decided not to and I had a second, verging on third degree tear instead which was still sore/weird feeling while DTD almost a year later.. I am guessing an episiotomy would have been the better option after all!
I have abottle of witchahzel in my fridge already just in case I need it! (when ever that migt be)

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 17:55

I had to be cut as had the ventouse - after 22 hour back to back and with pudendal block I literally didn't feel it. Don't be scared of episiotomies - I was before but would have another if I don't do the full epidural works next time

MissMummy1 · 28/11/2012 17:58

Yay congrats georgee - lovely news!! Really can't be many of us left now, I'm near certain I'll be last Envy ...

mrswee · 28/11/2012 18:16

yw I will keep that in mind and be relaxed this time if that sort of decision needs to be made. I hope not to need one but I'd rather that than another tear to heal over the last one. My tear was due to forceps after hurs of back toback and face up baby.

mm I am also covinced I'll be last. I was last on the September thread with DD.... she was born the 10th of october, it was lonely!

mummytobe1990 · 28/11/2012 18:35

aww congrats georgee

yw - my curtains are open hahaha! who knows...it might work!

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 21:32

Mrswee Jonas was face up too - little bugger!!!

Passmethecrisps · 28/11/2012 21:32

Passmethecrisps · 28/11/2012 21:33

Very seasonal kissy! Maybe I should be passmethemincepies

jenbird · 28/11/2012 21:56

Congrats peppa and georgee.
Thanks for the congrats. We are adjusting to life as a family of 6.
My birth was pretty straight forward. Wates went at 22 50. Irregular contractions followed. Went to MLU at about 3. Contractions still not regular or that bad but I have a tendency to suddenly go so didn't want to leave it too long. At about 5 they seemed to ramp up to every 4 mins. We had some tea and toast and by the time we had finished they were every 1 to 2 minutes and she was born at 6 25. Was pretty exhausted but that's to be expected.
My two middle small people have this damn tummy bug, just hoping my immunity is passed on to Eira.
Hope the full moon works for all those hanging in there x

MissMummy1 · 28/11/2012 23:31

Well we made it to the cinema and back with nothing more than a few non painful braxton hicks that have now stopped. Grrr! Sae Nativity 2. I enjoyed just being out the house it, his lordship hated it! Ho hum Grin. Off to bake a cake, dp is joining me in my insomnia tonight as he prepares to start nightshifts again tomorrow!!

Had a ridic amount of phonecalls today. My dad calling was the biggest shocker. Closely followed by my aunt who I speak to twice a year ( max) and see even less - she lives 5 mins away Hmm....

Iheartpasties · 29/11/2012 00:13

georgee congrats!!

Bryzoan · 29/11/2012 03:06

Way to go Georgee :-). Beautiful names.

misslaughalot · 29/11/2012 06:57

Olivia Frances was born at 17:53 yesterday weighing in at 9lb 6oz!

Horrendous labour all in all and ended up with EMCS but she's here now, totally gorgeous and very relaxed!! Snoozing on me now after a big feed and making the cutest noises. I'm completely in love with her!

Will try to go back and catch up on the thread, I see there's been lots of new arrivals, only 2 days of November left!

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 29/11/2012 07:06

Great news misslaughs, lovely name and good size.
