Iheartpasties · 28/11/2012 05:18

jenbird congrats!! and peppa congrats!!

Iheartpasties · 28/11/2012 05:21

mm1 i'm annoyed at your midwife! do not listen too her, who does she know what your labour will be like and how you will experience it, your back sounds agony and that could well be one million times worse than labour! do not her negative attitude into your head! i agree with everyone on here - get some pain relief, but don't stress about labour being worse than an extremely painful back as it's a different kettle of fish! you get a wonderful prize at the end of labour :)

Bryzoan · 28/11/2012 06:52

Here here pasties! For a midwife to be introducing such negative preconceptions about birth and to be so judgemental about your experience Missmummy is not on at at all. Labour does hurt but it is a very focussed, productive sort of pain and also time limited. For what it is worth I think I would take that over what you are experiencing with your back. You must be shattered. I think you need to get your dp to help you get the medical support you need. Time to get very stroppy!

Bryzoan · 28/11/2012 06:53

And congratulations jenbird and peppa!

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 28/11/2012 09:14

Congratulations jenbird and peppa. It's my due date today and it's a full moon tonight, ooooh. The phrase for today is "come on Bun, out you come!"

Lilliana · 28/11/2012 09:44

Congratulations Jen and peppa and anyone else I've missed, hope you and babies are all well. Thanks

Sorry been awol as fed up and have nothing positive to contribute.

40 +11 today and booked for induction tomorrow morning :( Dh has been on the sofa ill for the last week (very unlike him) so been worrying about him too although he seems to be on the mend now. Really don't want to be induced and quite scared but baby is showing no signs of budging and time is running out...

Right moan out now need to go do something productive and try to become more positive.

Sorry about the me me me whingy post, I'm just trying to get it out!

Dixiebell · 28/11/2012 11:10

Sorry about induction lilliana, but at least you know your baby will be with you in the next 48 hours.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/11/2012 13:13

Congrats to all the new graduates. Hope all is well.

MM you have gone quiet are you still there? Are you ok?

Xx

MissMummy1 · 28/11/2012 14:07

Yep still here! Had an incredibly lazy morning in bed watching tv. Still sore but doesn't seem to be any worse today so hoping paracetamol is starting to kick in. Dp and I are both - on reflection - quite pissed off with that mw, but touchwood I won't need to see her again as she doesn't do home visits in my village and any appointments from now on are done at hospital.

I've just come out the shower to no less than 7 missed calls from a very freaked out dp (my reply to his text before I got in musnt've sent) and a voicemail threatening to send my next door neighbour round to check I wasn't giving birth or lying dead somewhere. Ffs I was only out of range for 15 mins tops!!!

mummytobe1990 · 28/11/2012 15:17

Congratulations peppa

my DH is exactly the same missmummy if he cant get thru to me immediately he panics!

well its my due date today and midwife did a sweep this morning so fingers crossed it works, booked to be induced next wednesday (40+7) so luckily DH parents should get to see her before they go back to orkney (a 2 day journey from us)

TooManyDicks lets hope the full moon works in our favour tonight haha

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/11/2012 15:18

Lol mm

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 15:20

Mummytobe - I live on Orkney!

mummytobe1990 · 28/11/2012 15:22

ooo really YellowWellies yer they are driving down to brighton from orphir this weekend and staying for a week as thats all they could get off work so we are all really hoping the little madam turns up soon!!

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 15:33

No way - I live in Orphir - well the border of Orphir / Stenness parish (near the Brig o Waithe) - my peedie man was born up here in the Balfour and is eligible to play the ba as an uppie! Is your DH Orcadian?

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 15:34

That is a hell of a drive!!!!!

mummytobe1990 · 28/11/2012 15:53

No they are from horsham in sussex but they used to holiday in orkney regularly and his parents decided to move up there last year, i think they just wanted to see him settled before they moved so far away. We visited them in july for our honeymoon, was my first time to orkney and it really is a stunning place! just dissapointed i couldnt go snorkelling due to being pregnant at the time!

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 28/11/2012 16:37

I've been reading up mummytobe, you need to keep the blinds or curtains open and have very little artificial light to get the full gravitational pull of the full moon Hmm

I'm willing to try anything!

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 17:07

Woooo be careful you might end up with werebabies - Jonas was born just before the last full moon and still has fluffy shoulders. He growls excitedly when I'm unclipping my nursing bra to feed him too !!!

MissMummy1 · 28/11/2012 17:13

I've been promised a date night to the cinema tonight so would like junior to stay put until we get home - I need to get out of the house!!! (totally realise this is tempting fate Smile )

mrswee · 28/11/2012 17:13

peppa congratulations! .....right me next and everyone else within mins please! Grin

mm now he knows how you felt all those times he forgets his phone or turns it off! but actually although it is annoying it's good to know he really does know how important it all is after all.
Last time I was pregnant I got banned from using the shower or the bath while DH wasn't home after I had an unfortunate fall/slip in the bath one day where I managed to take the bath off the wall and oull the shower curtain down... it was really inconvienant! this time Iam banned from going up ladders but with so much DIY to do in this house I've been up ladders quite a few times as soon as no one is looking!

mrswee · 28/11/2012 17:15

ohhhh a full moon.. I might go for a walk round the block tonight... we did that the last time though it was more of a hobble with my SPD.. this time I'll have to go on my own what with DD being in bed!

MissMummy1 · 28/11/2012 17:17

I've also been banned from the shower/bath by mr health and safety but I was desperate to wash my hair! He's completely changed in the last few weeks from his laid back attitude to being on edge all the time. It's sweet, but having him analyse every twinge is beginning to get a bit frustrating!

YellowWellies · 28/11/2012 17:25

Haha MM it sounds like he's going from one extreme to another bless him! Maybe it needed you to be nine months preggers for it to finally sink in. Good luck with the cinema and tempting fate. I recommend a bored stroll around Kirkwall tescos that got me started I'm sure.
