Aww glad your friends again bunny ..... Don't worry about the scan everything will be fine :-)) are you finding out the flavour xxx

Bunnychan · 28/12/2012 18:04

No, I want a surprise in fact, I'd be gutted if I did find out lol x

BeauticianNotMagician · 28/12/2012 18:09

Hi all hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Frankie I had a low lying placenta at 12 week scan and at scan I had at 17+5 weeks.Today it had moved completely so you have plenty of time for that to happen.

bunny if it makes you feel any better DP and I fell out on Christmas Eve.He got a present wrong and I went madHmm we made up on Christmas Day.

Had scan today the sex has been written down.Im desperate to know.Had a good look thought I saw a willy when she was checking but then she said about the cord.I did see two black dots have been reading up on line but it says could be ovaries or testes. So I'm still none the wiser. Its going to be long wait Grin

BeauticianNotMagician · 28/12/2012 18:19

Forgot to say I had to jump up and down as once again lazy baby didn't want to move and the sonographer needed to see baby's face.

20+1

WildeRumpus · 28/12/2012 22:59

hey all, beaut I had my scan today too! glad yours was a-ok :) We found out that we are having another boy! Am so excited and happy, we have a healthy VERY wriggly baby and I adore the boy I have so am delighted to be the mum to another :)

Oh, and my low-lying placenta has moved well out of the way too frankie, I had it at 15 weeks but gone now at 20 weeks. Am still spotting almost daily though, bah. Sonographer said everything looks as good as one could expect so is just one of those things. have had all internal tests and infection tests and nada, so... I have been watching my activity level because of it but think I will sod it for a bit as I am getting fat! I want to go to yoga and swimming so will see how it goes.

beaut I didn't see a THING the whole scan (I had to be in on my own while DH looked after DS) so she hid the gender from me somehow that whole time. Then bam, all of a sudden when DH was in the room she showed us a very clear, huge grey scrotum and willy Grin No missing it, so I don't doubt their skill at keeping the gender secret! I had to be tipped back on the bed to tip him out of my pelvis so she could measure the head. so funny.

you're scan is statistically likely to be a good one bunny. am glad you and DH made up and did some shopping.

laters yo, bedtime for moi!

WildeRumpus · 28/12/2012 22:59

ah, 20+3

beaver33 · 29/12/2012 11:21

Hey beaut how's it going? Was thinking of you the other day and the very exciting new year you have planned - soooo romantic and fun. V jealous. Hope it goes really well.

bunny sorry to hear about your row but I'd try not to take any of it too seriously. We're all hormoned up to the eyeballs and I think it's perfectly natural to feel a kind of hidden terror at the idea of suddenly having a baby. I certainly sometimes feel like I don't know what the hell I was thinking. It will still be much loved by you and your DP though, so worry not.

Still feeling quite stressed this end - been working through Christmas etc and it's been a bit pressured. I keep dreaming that work has killed my baby, which is a horrible nightmare involving me standing in the middle of the office in agony while I give birth prematurely in front of everyone. Hideous. Think I need to try to chill out a bit more...

In the v bizarre position of having NO new year plans. DH wants us to go to a house party in East London with his mates, which is not quite what I had in mind for obvious reasons. But don't really want to hang around at home. DH has, v sweetly, offered to give up his party so we can do something just the two of us, but I can't help but feel like he should have a good time. Sitting with a sober lump is not massively appealing.

Harrumph.

Hi Beaver I'm good thanks.Im excited about New Year but also desperately impatient.Even DP has tried to look through envelope but we can't see a thing.

I keep having horrid nightmares too must just be our hormones. I can't sleep at all just lately and really suffer with numb hips must get a pregnancy pillow still haven't got round to it.

Wilde I didn't realise you were at pretty much the same stage as me.

Has anyone bought any baby stuff in the sales.? We have decided to have a 4d scan is anyone else. They are recommended after 26 weeks so I think I'll go at 27 weeksGrin

Beauti DD and I bought some baby stuff for her little boy from JL. We just got some tops and dungarees and little sleep suits with matching hats. So cute. I can't wait to see GS in them.

cuppateaandagingersnap · 29/12/2012 20:40

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to unhide threads, my sausage fingers have made a boo boo and hidden this thread, had to get to it by going through link from last thread Hmm

BeauticianNotMagician · 29/12/2012 21:33

CupofTea if you go to your mn account/profile you will see a section that shows hidden threads you just select the one you want to unhide.I did it when we first started the thread by accident was so annoying.

Chottie I bought baby it's first soft toy a supersoft bunny with floppy ears and a bib set from Next.

It's so exciting buying bits now although I cannot decide on a pushchair.Anyone else know what pushchair they are getting? I want to get most bits whilst the sales are on as makes sense.Smile

twinklingelephant · 29/12/2012 22:59

Hiya everyone. Congratulations Wirra on your fab news.
Berri, have you mentioned your back to your midwife? I got referred to the physio and went to a 'group talk' which was pretty useful as it covered causes and how to protect your back as well as some good stretches and things to do. Most of these were pilates type exercises which I've done in pilates classes before so I've done some hunting and found a local pregnancy trained pilates teacher to go to. I've had back problems before and know that pilates has helped by strengthening up my core muscles. May be worth looking into.
Frankie and Roast I have a low lying anterior placenta too. They were talking possible c sec but I'm hoping not! It's good to hear the experiences lots of you are having of the placenta moving. My next scan is booked for 32 weeks in March so fingers crossed for then.
They've also told me its going to be a pretty big baby! Big head and stomach apparently! Taking after its daddy I reckon.
Beaut I've just bought a buggy from Mamas & Papas. Its the urbo model and its got a huge discount and offer for a car seat too. Checked it out in the shop and its really light which is going to be a bonus for hoofing it round London's public transport system.
I wan to get a cot and bits before the sales finish too. Anyone seen anything good out there?
I've got my first driving lesson booked for Friday. Some people think I'm a complete nutter for starting to learn now but I figure I need to get on with it!

twinklingelephant · 29/12/2012 23:47

Forgot to say, cos of the big baby they want the midwife to do a glucose test for gestational diabetes. Does anyone else think that's jumping the gun a bit?

BeauticianNotMagician · 30/12/2012 08:25

Twinkling I have been looking at the urbo and the sola from mamas and papas. We are getting a cotbed, wardrobe and dresser set in the sales from babies r us.

Our baby is measuring on the small side which I don't mind at all plenty of time to grow yet. With ds1 the midwifes sent me to hospital on 3 occasions saying I was too small for dates in the end a lovely doctor said 'look you are going to have a small baby. Some babies are small some big nothing wrong'.Ds 1 weighed 6lb 6oz so a perfectly healthy weight.

rachywhite83 · 30/12/2012 08:39

Twinkling - I'm learning to drive at the moment. Pregnancy has given me the kick I needed.

I'm looking at the cosatto giggle. Such a funky little pram ! Great price too what with moving and having to get a new car money needs to be saved in some places and the whole pram, carry cot, car seat, and changing bag is £390 in John Lewis. Have had to test a few because I'm 6 foot but its a perfect height and is really light to push

Have a good day everyone x Grin

BeauticianNotMagician · 30/12/2012 08:41

Forgot to say that I'm learning to drive too.I booked my theory test on Friday. Really hope I pass before baby is born but its so expensive.

Bunnychan · 30/12/2012 10:14

I think it's good that you are learning to drive now; you've got a real motivator to help you beaut good luck!
I'm having one of those days where I feel like I've made up my pregnancy and am just getting fat. I quite often feel like its not real. Oh well lol x

ArtigeneAuberchoke · 30/12/2012 10:37

Twinkling - it dies seem early for them to worry re gestational diabetes. Did they say what centile your baby is on? My babies always measured big for dates and DD1 was born 2 weeks early weighing 9lbs 4oz and DD2 was 10lbs 2nd. I tested negative for diabetes both times. This time I'm refusing the test as it's horrid and I know I just make huge babies. It's DH's genes that I blame, his father was burn weighing 14lbs in the 1940s and his sister had two over 12lbs! No diabetes there either.

No new pram for us. We have our old Bugaboo Chanmeleon which was great but I always switch to a nice light Maclaren as soon as they can sit: it's soooo much handier than any travel system.

23 hours til our scan. I feel sick thinking about it.

Oh and I put on 3lbs overnight and my bump really grew, I can't see my knees this morning and trying to tidy my lady garden proved a challenge too far!

FrustratedSycamoreSnowflake · 30/12/2012 12:31

Hey ladies, I hope you all had good Christmases.

So here's my question of the day, 18+2 and since yesterday it is really uncomfortable to sit down, is it normal/possible for bub to have moved back down into my pelvic area?

shelly81 · 30/12/2012 14:58

Try a freezing cold glass of water to get him moving xx

kittencuddles · 30/12/2012 15:51

frustrated I'm 18+5 and have low abdominal pains too. Noticeably it's when I sit down or stand up suddenly. Think everything is stretching, read about round ligament pain and I think mine sounds like that.

Bunnychan · 30/12/2012 19:33

About the discomfort down there, lol, I've noticed after the last couple of times we've had sex. I get an ache really low and it feels like my fouff is going to fall out. Sorry about the tmi. I'm 19+3

cuppateaandagingersnap · 30/12/2012 20:16

Thanks beaut I'm back in business again, thread restored Grin
