So Coleen Rooney is having a boy too ! Lots of May boys x

TerracottaPie · 21/12/2012 12:34

Glad to hear all these 20 week scans are going ok :)

Had mine on Wednesday and so far so good. The sonographer was lovely. With the other 3 DCs I've just lay there barely been able to see anything and had hardly anything said to me. This lady told us everything she was doing, pointing out lots of things and did lots of cooing at cute baby movements. It just felt like she really loved her job.

Got some lovely scan pics as well. One of which is just the sole of a foot when the baby flipped over and that was all there was to see. And no sex finding out. I'm getting ridiculously excited about giving birth and looking down to see if we have a new son or daughter :)

Artigene happy belated birthday to your DD2! Hope she had a great day. Yes it is a giant pain having a birthday so close to Xmas. And this was only our first time of doing it! It's DS's own fault though: he shouldn't have been 2 weeks late and then it would have been fine Grin. Any tips on how to keep the 2 separate gratefully received!

20+3

mwncigirl · 21/12/2012 12:52

DS is three on Sunday, we had a little party for him yesterday, he's quite confused about what happens when, presents, when Santa comes, but loved his party and cake. It was lovely.
It's great hearing about all the scans. Mine is in an hour and I'm feeling actually quite scared now. Hmm

ng1412 · 21/12/2012 18:10

Argitene having the amnio as am 43 and here in France they advise you to even though my combined bloods and neck measurement brought back odds of 1:300. Was originally going to have the CVS but the placenta was in the wrong place so gyne advised against it. A bit petrified but I think at my age it may be wise.

Terra I am a mid December birthday person too, it honestly never mattered to me as it was always clear that birthday was separate from Christmas and I always had two sets of presents. Plus as I got older and started going out it became good fun as everyone was in a great party mood whatever day of the week it fell on!

mwncigirl hope all went well at the scan. I get petrified each time I have one! X

LittleSpade · 21/12/2012 18:32

Just checking in to say that I had my scan this afternoon and eveything is fine - all measurements looking normal Smile

Baby was fast asleep though despite lots of poking by the sonographer and had its legs crossed with the cord between them so we didn't manage to find out the gender - guess we'll be waiting then!

mwncigirl · 21/12/2012 18:46

Thanks ng it was fine, everything fine and it's a boySmile

I am especially emotional at the mo as Sunday is the anniversary of my first husbands death, which just happens to be DS's birthday (though DH wasn't the father). It's a complicated time. But hey, alls well so can't complain!

mwncigirl · 21/12/2012 18:48

And little I don't think I could cope with not knowing the gender!! Hope your happy waiting!!

LittleSpade · 21/12/2012 19:12

mwncigirl glad to hear your scan went well too Smile. Sorry to hear you're going through a tough time but hopefully with the support of your DH and your DS's excitement and his birthday and christmas it won't be too bad.

We had hoped to find out the gender today and were a bit disappointed not to, DH in particular i think, but as the sonographer had got all the measurements and checked everything she needed to she wasn't giving us the option of walking around or coming back for another check. Will make sure i have some coke or sweets before any scans i have in the future! I think most of all its a bit weird that even though we've picked names for both genders we won't know its name till the day and although we were going to go pretty neutral anyway we won't be able to buy anything at all specifically girl/boy.

BeauticianNotMagician · 21/12/2012 21:21

Hi everyone sorry Ive not been on in a while. We have been the house of ill as well. Got rid of cold and then all got the sickness bug.

So exciting to hear everyone's scan news. Lots of ds's due on this thread. I can't wait to find out I hope we can. I'm pretty sure after two ds's we will get the same again.

I can top the Christmas birthdays. My ds birthday is the day before Christmas (don't want to out myself). So busy, busy, busy. Can't wait until 4 o 'clock tomorrow when I finish work. Grin

berri · 22/12/2012 00:03

Beautician I thought my DS's was too close being on 6th!
Dec birthdays are annoying, May will be much more convenient Xmas Grin

mwncigirl that does sound tough - it must be a strange day for you with happiness and sadness together like that.

littlespade that's annoying about your scan, if you wanted to find out! But it's also lovely to leave it as a surprise....do you think you'll have another scan before your edd?

NG when are you having your amnio? Don't be worried, if they are very commonplace in France then they'll be very experienced, which totally reduces the risk.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend Xmas Smile my DH has now finished work until Jan so looking forward to having him at home with us and putting my feet up a bit while he plays with DS!

happy Christmas all!! Xmas Grin

Guess what - offer accepted on house yesterday! We are (nearly) proud home owners for the first time. 2012 has been pretty bumper - wedding, baby-making and now, a proper home...all I need now is a dishwasher to feel proper grown up Wink.

Quick question - what's everyone planning booze-wise for Christmas? Not looking to judge, just thought a straw poll might be interesting.

I'd thought of having some champers on Christmas Eve, and then a couple of glasses of vino with Christmas lunch.

But then, I really haven't been drinking at all so far, so it feels like a proper, exciting treat....(how I've changed)....

Ellypoo · 22/12/2012 16:17

Happy birthday 10!
Great news Beaver, what an exciting news!!!

I will have a couple of small glasses of red over the festive period, I only need a few sips and that will probably do me, so I'm not going to worry about it too much - have barely had any at all, and nothing before 17 wks, so not really worried about a few little drops!

scooby26 · 22/12/2012 16:45

Festive greetings all!

Many congrats on all the good scans-can't believe how many boys there are! Our scan isn't until 8th jan!

Still hoping put move goes to plan- frustrated not much will happen for two weeks cos of Xmas but seems ok- our mortgage offer has finally arrived and our buyer good to go if they stop asking stooopid questions! ( why am I not leaving my sons nursery light fitting?!!! - eh cos I don't have to and it matches my new baby's nursery to be so bot off! ;-) )

Had a frantic week- been busy with house stuff then got a chest infection that with my asthma has had me at the gp x 3 in as week ( their insistence) and ending up at hospital. Numerous medications later I finally today have started to improve- had to be sick from work- whin I hate and more so at this time of year as dont want to be considered a skiver. Will try my best to be in Tom!!

My DS has also been to gp and a&e with suspect fractured leg as he is hobbling ( aged 2.5) it's not bothering him at all! No diagnosis just told to watch it ??!! He's been super cute and gorgeous and I'm dead proud he is excited for Xmas- I had thought he was a big young but he's really excited!

Need to finish Xmas shopping- nothing yet for my mother and must get few more bits for DH- being out of action this last week has been no good- had been too distracted with house moves and associtaed problems - must learn not to leave it soo late ever again!!

On the december birthdays- my DH 's is 29th- I'm normally organised but as already mentioned- not so this year! I have not a stitch for him yet! In WIll be sales shopping boxing day to buy bday pressies!

Happy Xmas to all- hope you are all well!

Yay for all those who have had scans. Ours is Thursday, can't wait! Is anyone else considering a 3d/4d scan? The resolution looks pretty amazing, seriously considering it here, maybe at the 26-32 week stage.

Sorry about all of you suffering from winter colds/flu/novovirus. It is especially horrible around this time of year when you want to enjoy your holidays! One of my work colleagues had the novovirus (sounded awful) but she stayed away from the office and luckily it didn't do the rounds.

beaver good news on the offer acceptance, scooby good luck with your move/buyer.

I might have a small glass of bubbles on Xmas day and some sips of DPs wine but that's probably about it.

Anyone else suffering from faintness? I nearly fainted today while sightseeing in London. I had a big breakfast then hadnt eaten anything for a few hours and had been walking around a lot. I went into a museum gift shop while DP and friend were looking at exhibits and suddenly felt really faint and wobbly. I had to loiter around one of the displays which I used as support and put in an emergency call to DP to come rescue me! One of the staff was throwing around one of those plastic flying bird things which was also freaking me out as I could see it in my peripheral vision. I had to eat some of the thorntons chocolates that a friend had just given me for a Xmas present. I'm sure she wouldn't mind it going to good use to restore me. Anyway, it was a crap experience so I will be extra careful now to keep eating every few hours. I read that blood pressure is lowest half way through pregnancy on tinterweb.

Hope everyone is feeling festive as we head towards Chrimbo. Xmas Grin

berri · 22/12/2012 19:59

Happy Birthday for yesterday 10! Thanks and congratulations on the house beaver - how exciting and great timing so you can relax over Christmas now.

scooby that sounds worrying about your DS, hope they find out what the problem is soon, and that your asthma gives you a break! Hope you can recuperate now you've had some time at home. Sure nobody thinks your skiving! I say from experience - I always used to struggle into work when I was ill and got no medals for it, people don't even notice, so it's best to get better first otherwise everything just lasts twice as long.

I'm DEFINITELY having 2 glasses of something pink and fizzy on Christmas Day. I keep being told by docs, friends, relatives, and basically everyone around me how we can have 1-2 glasses 1-2 times a week, and up until now I haven't really felt like it, but now I do! So I will, can't wait Xmas Grin

GeordieCherry · 22/12/2012 20:32

Happy birthday 10!
And Beaver that's brilliant news Grin

I've bought some reduced alcohol fizz today. One at 7% & one at 8%. The 7 is described as sweet so I got the other one in case the 7 is no good in clementine Bucks Fizz. Looking forward to having some bubbles with our smoked salmon & cream cheese bagels Smile
Trying some Sorelle alcohol free wine this evening. It's not so hot Confused
19 weeks today, halfway near as dammit. Blush
Went for a swim this morning. Managed half an hour. Really glad I went. A bit pooped after our Xmas food shopping though. Need to stay up for the Strictly final!!
Get well soon poorly people. DP has got a cold so I'm dosing him up (& complaining when he breathes on me)

frankienoodles · 23/12/2012 10:32

betsyb75 · 23/12/2012 10:54

Hi Everyone,
So exciting there are so many scans happening, we are going to tell our family about our boy on Christmas Day, it's been really hard keeping it a secret!

Re the tipple at Christmas, I think either a bucks fizz or fizzy with some pomegranate juice depending on whether I feel like it or not, if I cant stomach those maybe a small glass of red.

I'm feeling little pokes now in my tummy, so exciting, and having the best day dreams about the fact we will have our DS1 here this time next year, its all going so fast.
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas, and thank you for making the journey so far so much easier and comforting. Xmas Smile
20+6

MammaBrussels · 23/12/2012 10:54

Just skimmed the thread. Congratulations on all the scans. So many boys! Hope those of you who've been unwell are fully recovered by Christmas. It's such a shitter being ill when PG Xmas Sad.

DS has his molars coming through so I was up half the night trying to console him. Poor little boy is knackered and hungry. Hope he gets better by Christmas. Still, he's been running around my in laws picking up Christmas presents all morning so it can't be that bad.Xmas Grin

Merry Xmas everyone!

Chottie · 23/12/2012 16:51
