Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HoneyMum21 · 21/11/2012 14:09

Oh dear Spotty can the pair of you have a nice afternoon relaxing together? Hope you're both ok.
Good tip about the mat pads with wings- I couldn't find any with wings before I went in and then my mum had to get ehat she could from the little local boots.

Prunella Dash does make it much easier to deal with. I still get pangs of 'we're never going to be able to do that again' and it's never goiing to be just DH and I on our own (does that make me a bad mother?) but of course wouldn't change having DAsh here for the world!

MyDaydream · 21/11/2012 14:22

Eggs I'm tempted to give up on mine, it's still showing as being in the depot.

Spotty sounds like a stressful day. Hope your DD gets used to the casts soon so she's less grumpy for you.

WeeJo08 · 21/11/2012 14:55

Hope you're okay kate. Maybe these things aren't always accurate?

Clarella · 21/11/2012 15:08

Sorry to hear that spotty I imagine it'll take a little while to get used to them - can you decorate them?

Oh that does sound daunting prune big hugs. We'll keep you going on here chick.

Oh goodness Kate I'm sure it'll be ok - could they give you any advice? Maybe baby will come early?

Thanks for builder encouragement, ashamed to say I evacuated down stairs and have been hiding upstairs as much as possible. Still dId all our woollen hand washing (there was a lot!) And some more sorting of general junk/ clothes/ last diddly bits in hospital bag plus lots of ball bouncing. Upper back really straining I think from bump and everything aches when I stay still. Dnot really need to fake contractions as back so stiff but I really should try and fake a smile! (To be fair they have bought very posh dust sheets this time.) I just don't want strange men around me any more!!!!! Thank god that should be the last of them inside! In the great scheme of things it's really not a big deal, sorry guys fir self indulgent wallowing just am now soooo on edge when they are here to point of feeling sick - hence no sleep!

And their terrible organisation has pushed everything else right back hence this last min dash to everywhere else sorted for baby. But that's normal I guess!

On the positive I shall finally be able to properly wash all the floors which is good for baby positioning right?! And walk about in bare feet again!!!!

Clarella · 21/11/2012 15:09

Kate I did think these things are terribly inaccurate?

PrunellaDeVille · 21/11/2012 15:56

oh kate, sounds awful. But then, was it the same MW who usually measures? - they all seem to measure a bit differently. but it's also such an inaccurate process. OR it could all be fluid and LO is still really quite little. and that's only stuff a newbie can come up with so it's not time to panic yet.

honey i think that's being realistic, certainly not anything close to being a bad mother. glad to hear you're enjoying your LO

clarella is the end in sight then for the builders? - was this the very last day or will it be soon?

early labour stages could well be quite lonely in this household so i'll probably be a more regular visitor to MN all of a sudden Smile

Clarella · 21/11/2012 16:04

Prune we'll be there with you chick!

Yes - hope so. Needs to pass building inspector (dh!) Bits left outside but there's glass and bricks between us Grin

utopian99 · 21/11/2012 16:20

clarella if your dh is anything like mine and me when it comes to site inspection there'll be a snagging list as long as your arm! BUT before you panic, we are both picky ludicrously anal even for architects, and your builders may be better than those I seem to contend with! Good luck now the end is in sight...

On the life change debate, my mother and I are best friends but even she admits that since my bro and I fully left home they've been having a lovely time being just a couple again. I don't think it's selfish or at all unreasonable to worry about it changing things (I do, massively,) but she also says she wouldn't have given up having us for anything in the world,.and DH keeps telling me how wonderful it'll be to have our own little unit...

SpottyTeacakes · 21/11/2012 16:28

Thanks everyone her casts are blue, it was that or red and she has a few pink clothes! I told her daddy will help her learn to walk when he gets home 'that be good idea!' she shouted!

We both fell asleep for an hour so she probably won't sleep tonight but in my defence the power went again so it was dark and quiet...... Blush

HoneyMum21 · 21/11/2012 16:42

Aww bless her spotty

EggsMichelle · 21/11/2012 19:27

Gave up on the delivery too, went out and bought small bag of dog food, and a Starbucks mocha, very nice! Now to put my tea on (pasta, I'm very creative)

Spotty is walking well in her castes? Bless her.

Kate I know it's a repeat of what others said, but measuring the uterus is not an accurate measure of the size of the baby, yours might be stretched right out. where as others like myself who are measuring under the 50th might have a short fat baby who is all curled up.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/11/2012 19:30

She is walking ok but they have rounded bottoms and we have wooden floors!

kate2boysandabump · 21/11/2012 19:31

Thanks for being so nice everyone Smile I've never measured ahead my dates before and still had big babies, so it was a real shock to be so far ahead today. Also was a shock to see the cross from today's measurement just floating around on the chart, not near a line or anything. It was the same midwife I usually see and she did have a good feel around and said it didn't feel like it was going to be a 12lber (eek) I think I was just due a good cry and a bit of feeling sorry for myself. I feel much better now Smile

Went book shopping with my boys after school and have bought 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' to read with them on Christmas Eve. I think they've moved on from 'Kipper's Christmas Eve', which we've always read before. Although it is fab if you have little ones, they liked the light at the end

Spotty Ds1 went for blue when he was in plaster. He wanted it to be blue like Thomas the Tank engine, he was only 2. Is she in them for long? Ds1 wore the bum out of all his clothes in the few months he was in plaster and I had no bottoms to hand on to ds2, but I did have some unused shoes Grin Didn't see your post earlier. Did you have a trace?

Clarella Hooray for nearly being rid of the builders!! No more washing up in the bath or trying to keep dust at bay.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/11/2012 19:34

Well it's for up to four weeks minimum of two, they change them each week!

No trace today I suppose they will see what's going on on Wednesday when I have a scan and consultant appointment. I have a feeling the induction will be brought forward to two weeks time instead of three

PurplePidjin · 21/11/2012 19:35

We're home :)

and Brew to those in need

HoneyMum21 · 21/11/2012 19:37

Welcome home pidj

SpottyTeacakes · 21/11/2012 19:45

Yay pidj!

Secondsop · 21/11/2012 19:45

Oh well done pidj!

EggsMichelle · 21/11/2012 19:50

That's not long Spotty, but you could try slipper socks over the castes, give her a little grip?

Welcome home Pidj, but I would say t was you in need of the Brew

SpottyTeacakes · 21/11/2012 19:55

Good idea Eggs I have some of those!

brooke89 · 21/11/2012 20:00

Welcome home pidj

MaMaPo · 21/11/2012 20:25

Nice one Pidj!

Oof - 12 hour day over. I don't feel too shattered yet - maybe at the end of my 45 minute commute. Any way you slice it, it's a long day.

Another one of our NCT group had their baby - and or the 3rd time, have used one of the names on our list! We're going to be so uncreative when bean finally arrived.

Had a coffee today with a friend who is due tomorrow - I was v
Impressed with the sheer size of her bump!

emilyeggs · 21/11/2012 20:32

Nice to be home pidge now the fun begins! Grin

Cookiesandcoffee · 21/11/2012 20:39

Yey pidj have a lovely night in your own home as a family Smile

Oh kate don't worry, it is inaccurate. For some reassurance, At 36+0 I measured 40, may have been 41, my MW ignores it now and laughs about it, have been for growth scans and baby isn't a biggun. I think it's just how I carry my babies.

Aww spotty sounds so cute bless her.

ellliebelle · 21/11/2012 20:42

Yay glad your home pidj will be nice to get settled in
