Great news on feeding etc pidj all sounds fab.
Been thinking of dating is there no news?
Best of luck eggs, although I think you're mad Smile
Great save stacey, I had a near miss but managed to hide baby bits under a pile of washing.
Hope all goes smoothly with the builders clarella
This lurgy is eating me alive, all I can do is lie and wait for the next dose of paracetamol and have gotten through two boxes of tissues already. Thank heavens Dd is at preschool today ANd someone is picking her up-today I am not doing a thing or getting dressed. I feel like being ill is just going to prolong the wait as surely my body isn't stupid enough to bring things on when I would be utterly useless in labour?
Lots of Biscuit talk makes me need one packet but sadly I can't taste a thing Sad I want to be dunking my digestive in a cup of tea right now but nooooo.. So I'm just downing yet another glass of water instead

emilyeggs · 21/11/2012 10:03

Poor cookie I hope your feeling better very soon

ellliebelle · 21/11/2012 10:23

pidj so glad to hear feeding is going well :) no bh this morning which i am quite glad about as still obly 35 weeks just been yo midwife and she said baby is engaged andbfeels quite snug i dont really get it though as baby also seems to be in my ribs.....it must be a giant.

Really feel for those of you who arent sleeping :( i am getting ebough sleep and still feel so rattywhen i have to get up on a morning. I dont think it helped today that its absolutaly throwing it down and doesnt look like it will stop any time soon :(

itsMYNutella · 21/11/2012 10:33

Cookies I hope the lurgy buggers off sharpish for you! I have a homeopathic remedy that I take when I get too snotty; I only have the German name for it but I believe in English it's Kali bichromicum - Dr Google says it's good for problems with mucus membranes :) might be useful..

(sorry TMI coming but is anyone else being driven nuts by really huge lumps of sticky bogies? Especially evenings and mornings? I've taken to using a salt water spray thingy to get them to loosen up.... Confused sorry!)

Good save stacey!

Spotty hope your DD's casts all go as smoothly as possible for her!!

Good news about the feeding pidj!

ellie I've been hoping my ribs will get some relief when the bean engages... perhaps I should just look forward to getting some relief after the bean is born Confused oh well.... another 5 weeks ish here too...

FX for news from dated! Hope that family dated is doing well and having some quiet snuggle time!!!

emilyeggs · 21/11/2012 10:59

honey can I ask, when you said you switched from mat pads to night time pads, did you get the thick or thin ones? Hope that's not too intrusive Blush

Clarella · 21/11/2012 11:10

Oh cookies get well soon - lots of nice hot drinks for you.

I was thinking just that Emily about an hour ago!

Does anyone else feel that their uterus sort of aches in a mild dull sort of way from time to time? Hardly anything to get het up about but it's a bit tedious.

Clarella · 21/11/2012 11:11

Snot is one of main thing I will be heartily glad to loose post preg.

emilyeggs · 21/11/2012 11:14

Great minds clarella Grin

Please, if anyone wants a laugh please read pixwix story in child birth thread, on the humiliating story's thread!! I had to stop reading in on the train as I looked like a nutter shaking and trying not to cry with laughter Grin

Clarella · 21/11/2012 11:21

Oh well after the first page of that my bump really hurts now! Grin

EggsMichelle · 21/11/2012 11:37

Too much snot, there is snot coming from every orafic (sp) (I think that's why my ears are blocked)

Not sure how well the interview went, but it's over now, don't have to think about work again for a very long time (it was for a promotion, so no big deal)

Home in my PJs now, polished off my biscuits and waiting for the dogs food to be delivered (he is hungry!)

itsMYNutella · 21/11/2012 11:38

emily I was reading that thread last night too! I made DP turn off the telly so I could tell him some stories (seems like a good way to prep him for the worst Wink ) and some stories he found hilarious... but after a while I think he was getting a bit frightened and asked if he could stop listening Shock

itsMYNutella · 21/11/2012 11:40

eggs I had to read your post twice to make sure you weren't hungry for dog food :o

Clarella I know what you mean about sore uterus, usually in the morning when I get out of bed bump feels a bit sort of bruised generally... Hmm

WeeJo08 · 21/11/2012 11:40

Hi all, haven't posted in a while, have been buzzing around ticking items off my to-do list during my first days of maternity leave! I'm not very good at doing nothing, it appears! I just can't get my head around the fact that I won't be going back to work in a few days' (or weeks or months!) time so I feel like I need to do everything NOW! Have been batch cooking & organising like a madwoman.

Clarella Hope all goes well with the builders today and no fake contractions or tears are required!

Spotty Thinking of your wee daughter getting her casts on today - I bet she'll be just brill.

Emily I read the funny childbirth stories yesterday evening and laughed so hard I cried - they are so hilarious. (Though scary too!)

Pidj It sounds like you and Rafa are doing amazingly well! My DH keeps asking about him each day now!

Dating Thinking of you, though I know you won't be looking at the thread. We're all behind you.

DH is working from home today, so it's lovely to have company as I power through my list....he keeps saying things like "And are you going to sit down now?" Grin Am using it to my advantage to get cups of (decaf!) coffee & raspberry leaf liquid soil tea.

cherrypiew3 · 21/11/2012 12:13

Pidj Good news about the feeding you both sound like you are doing well.

Cookies sending get well wishes to you hope you feel better soon.

Dating Really hope you are having baby cuddles now and it is all over.

Sorry to hear so many of you are having sleeping problems.

Had mw appointment today and dd is not engaged and seems to have lots of room, mw said to keep an eye on where I feel movements just in case she spins again. Still measuring 2 weeks behind and although I had a growth scan last week and all was well she said when I next see her she might send me for another due to measurements now starting to fall below the line. I have no idea what she is on about.Blush Not very good with the this line means this and that line means that. On the upside when I next see her she will book me for a sweep to be done on my due date. This is all starting to feel very real.

PrunellaDeVille · 21/11/2012 12:38

still no news from dated? hope all's well.

maybe it's the drab weather today but i'm descending into mourning for life as DH and I have known it. From today DH will be working 14+ hour days 7 days a week until 16th Dec, potentially not being able to make the imminent birth of his PFB. We trade at Christmas markets (Bath mainly if anyone's going) - it was meant to be mostly my job this year but my dates are massively inconvenient Sad, EDD falls right in the middle of the markets.
Sunday and monday we made suddenly urgent trips to the cinema and for a civilised meal out realising that life as we know it will never return to normal once the markets have begun as LO will (almost certainly) be here by the time they're over.

think i need to pop out for some restorative chocolate...

apologies for bleakness and me-centric post, wondering whether anyone else is shadowed by similar forebodings

WeeJo08 · 21/11/2012 12:50

Pru Sorry you're feeling down :( What do you sell at the markets? I think you're right to go with some restorative chocolate though....

I've just booked my pre-labour bikini wax & my nursing bra fitting for next week. Bra fitting's for next Wednesday & wax is for next Friday. I HATE getting waxed but I figure I will appreciate being neater post-birth as nothing else in the fanjo region will be remotely neat! It's DH's last day at work too, so we're going out for a nice meal afterwards to Wahaca (yes...spicy food!!!) I thought that next Friday would be about the last time I would want to pockle down brave Oxford Street & Soho! I'll be 38+4 then.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 21/11/2012 12:52

Oh pru that's rubbish, I feel for you. When are you due?

HoneyMum21 · 21/11/2012 12:56

Oooh weejo wahaca- I'm incredibly jealous. We don't have anything like that up here.

Sorry you're feeling down prunella. Definitely had moments of feeling similar.

Whoever was asking about pads- I just had the bodyform night pads/ fairly thin but very absorbent. I think anything with wings that will helier stay in place!

MyDaydream · 21/11/2012 13:00

Finally got to proper sleep just before DP left for work, laid in bed for ages trying to get there though. I don't think I'll get indulgent payback at the weekend! I was going to treat myself to a Costa chocolate orange tart today, but now I'm stuck in waiting for a delivery Sad.

Pidj it's great to have the support with feeding, I'm really glad my closest hospital has the birth centre just so I can have that support straight away with no pressure to get it right and leave.
Clarella glad the builders turned up, hopefully they'll get everything done without you having to fake contractions. Maybe the massive nipples will help motivate them? I know how you feel though, I feel like they're leading me around most of the time.

Nutella with you on the bogies, I've had it all the way through and it's driving me mad. I feel like a child with my finger constantly up there.
cherry it could be that your dots on the chart were following a pattern, but the last measurement doesn't fit. Hope everything is okay if you get sent to another scan.
pru that's rubbish about your DP.

Cookiesandcoffee · 21/11/2012 13:06

Oww deleted my post. Meh.
Thanks ladies but yeh feeling pretty pathetic and sorry for myself. Indulging in online shopping (am going to be in trouble)
Thanks nutella will investigate.
prunella I'm hoping to go to Bath Christmas markets, love them! What do you sell?

PrunellaDeVille · 21/11/2012 13:17

thanks ladies Thanks

cookies we sell garden/lifestyle stuff - we'll be by the merry-go-round. DH'd love a visit if you make it but beware if you're not feeling on top form the market can be exhaustingly busy.

honey have you dwelt on the new life since Dash appeared? I'm sure assume he makes all things better

pmgkt · 21/11/2012 13:19

Just back from midwife, all fine other than I don't drink enough, which I know. Measured fine, could have fallen asleep on the bed though. She had a student with her who had a prod, she said he was easy to feel. Not engaged but that's not uncommon with number 2. Horrid weather so also taken ds1 to the local garden centre to look at all the Christmas lights, easy and cheap.

EggsMichelle · 21/11/2012 13:57

mydaydream I want a Starbucks latte but have to wait for my delivery too.

Honey I've only bought one pack on pads cause I look forward to sending my DH to buy more Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 21/11/2012 13:58

Pru my sister lives in Bath I would love to go up there at Christmas! Maybe next year Grin

Sorry to anyone feeling poorly, anyone else dread going to bed at night because you just know it's going to be a rubbish night?!

Mothercare do maternity pads with wings if anyone wanted to make sure the ones for the first week have them...

WeeJo Wahaca sounds amazing, I'm very jealous. DP is a total wuss who fns Nice 'n' Spicy nik naks too spicy Hmm

Well we've had an eventful (read stressful) morning. It took me 40 minutes to get to the hospital, had to have BP checked and was waiting 25 minutes. MW wasn't happy with how high it was and wanted to do a trace, by this time I was already 10 minutes late for DD's appointment so she spoke to a more senior mw who said I don't need a trace but she will check with consultant and ring me if I need one. So then we got to dd's appointment half an hour late (it's a three minute drive from the main hospital) but she had the casts put on an was really good. Take us ages to get home due to fallen trees and floods, got in to find no power, it's back on now though. Anyway that's it, she's grumpy because she doesn't like the casts and I'm grumpy because I have heartburn Grin

kate2boysandabump · 21/11/2012 14:00

dated Hope it's all going well. Looking forward to hearing some news soon.

Pru I've only just managed to look at your bump pic, WOW!! It's impressive, but I see why you're worried about toppling over Grin It's fine to panic about your life changing, it's certainly going to. Sorry that your DH isn't going to be around.

Spotty Hope that the casts go OK and that they have the colour your dd wants. Let us know what she went for.

Cookies Hope you feel better soon.

Clarella Glad that the builders turned up. Hope they don't make too much mess.

Had a melt down at my midwife appointment. I measured 40.5cm and I'm only 36+4 Sad On my growth chart this makes my baby over the 100th centile and weighing over 9lbs now Sad Sad Worried about what my baby could potentially weigh and how I'm going to get him out. Luckily DH was with me and looked after me in the hour after appointment, when I couldn't stop crying. Feel a bit better now. Self indulgent moan over Smile
