pidj co gratulations and welk done with 36 hour labour. Beautiful name too.

equimum i am also 35 weeks today andhae 2 weeks of work left :( kind of hoping to finish work a week on friday anf maybe give birth in the sat sun or mon would be nice :) athough dh is hoping i get closer to christmas so he can take his paternity over xmas and new year.

Changing bag arrived in post today so hospital bags now all packed. Some batch cooking to do this week. Any one got any nice recipes they have used? Also not quie sure i have enough clothes and nappies. What foes everyone else have?

SpottyTeacakes · 19/11/2012 13:02

Wow Pidj Congratulations! 36 hours is impressive, and a tiny squidgy baby too!

ellie I don't even have any nappies yet! I have just finished doing leek and potato soup and curried parsnip soup. Already have chilli and shepherd's pies in the freezer. Still got two big packs of mince Hmm might do lasagne and sausage casserole and will do some packs of mash (because we love mash but it's always so much effort!) and some bags of red cabbage mmmmm.

I have lots of housework still to do today but BH are making it bloody hard work...

Secondsop · 19/11/2012 13:07

Oh wonderful news pidg and what a gorgeous name! Oh what an amazing feeling it must be! Huge congratulations.

pmgkt · 19/11/2012 13:08

Congrats. I think both you and us will need sleep now. I think most of us have been up a lot during the night looking for updates.

brooke89 · 19/11/2012 13:11

Wow congratulations pidg and to you all Smile well done!!! X

ellliebelle · 19/11/2012 13:13

Spotty thanks for food tips i think most of my meals will be mince based ite mainly so i dont end up feeding the dd's pasta bake every night once dh is back at work. Ive never frozen mash before do you just make it as normal then pop it on a freezerbag? How do you reheat? Just in a sauce pan?

Well i have 88 size 1 nappies and about 30 size 2 i think

Clarella · 19/11/2012 13:15

Well done pidj! congratulations to the pidjfamily and welcome baby raphael (a fave artist of mine!)

Great you avoided induction too :)

Ooo sounding promising walnut.

Hope youre a little more relaxed and feeling happier COD if its anything like the north east where you are today they'll have cheered up by playtime due to all the wind - could hear the local school kids being blown about at play! I bet they start singing xmas songs this week too :)

Farting at school is great; you just blame it on the kids Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 19/11/2012 13:34

ellie I just microwave it from frozen. You could stick it in the oven for half an hour though I reckon or get it out in the morning then chuck it in the saucepan, you can always add some more milk if need be. I was considering doing some risotto too but I'm not sure I have the energy!

utopian99 · 19/11/2012 13:43

Congratulations pidjfamily and great name! (and namesake..)

I'm planning to start batch cooking this week - bolognaise sauce to reheat for quick pasta suppers, fish pie, lasagne, cottage pie, rissotto and moussaka. Looking at that list that's a lot of mince too!

annelid · 19/11/2012 13:45

Congratulations pidj, lovely name

WillYouDoTheFandango · 19/11/2012 13:59

Ooh how exciting, congratulations Pidj and welcome Raphael! Well done you! I thought something must have happened when I saw how many more messages there were from this morning!

Wow Seconds that's so soon, best start getting everything sorted!

Now come on everyone else, start popping some more out for us to coo over, I'm 35 weeks (+2d v important) with 2w to work like Ellie and Equimum, so it'll be a while yet I think.

I'm on the raspberry leaf tea today, quite like it.

ellliebelle · 19/11/2012 14:11

Thanks for info brooke ooo might do some rissoto too i do love it :)

MyDaydream · 19/11/2012 14:21

Congratulations pidj, loving the name!
I just came back from a driving lesson and I'm so worried about my test now. I know I did used to have a brain but really not sure what I've done with it. I seem to be getting worse and worse.
Off to tour the birth centre, will probably come back terrified. I'm really hoping its not too hospitally, I really hate them. DP is taking me out for pizza afterwards.

kate2boysandabump · 19/11/2012 14:26

Congratulations Pidg and family. Lovely name Smile

COD Sorry you're having a tough day. It's still quite early days for your little one at school, but I'm sure he's fine now and you'll get big hugs and smiles after school.

Having a rotten day. I woke at 3 this morning and haven't slept since.

Then baby wouldn't wake up this morning, so I had to go to the hospital for a trace. Baby all fine, but stress I could do without. I've come home and got in bed, but I still can't sleep.

However, I have managed a load of baby washing Smile Now all I have to do is dry it and put it away and then wash some more and pack a bag and........ too much, too tired today Sad

olliebob · 19/11/2012 15:22

congrats pidj and family. Havent looked on heree for a few days but does seem like a few or getting ready for arrivals. Hoping mine stays put for a bit longer as dh has now decided of all times to decorate the hall, stairs and landing, brillinat timing lol xx.

Hope everyone is ok and not too uncomfortable, so glad i have now finished work as tiredness is increasing xx

Equimum · 19/11/2012 15:41

Congratulations Pidj and family Thanks. What a gorgeous name.

daydream I only passed my driving test last year, and even without being pregnant at the time, I felt like I completely lost my brain (and control over my feet/ hands) as my test got closer, so I think it's quite common - Fingers crossed it comes together on the day. When's your test? I hope the tour of the birth centre wasn't too scary.

Think I'm producing enough adrenaline to keep baby firmly locked in place for a while. Went to supermarket at lunch time and the car control display decided to get prematurely festive and light up like a Christmas tree! I had all these warnings coming up that all these systems I didn't even know existed had failed. The advice from the garage: bring it straight in, but drive very carefully, you might not have much control Shock. Had to drive to next town, through busy town centre and along dual carriageways. Certainly didn't need heating on - was absolutely terrified. Turned out that a lose brake lamp had activated system Confused so actually had full control all along. I so don't need that right now!

Barbeasty · 19/11/2012 15:47

Congratulations Pidj.

I don't know, I go away for a night with no mobile signal or WiFi and it all happens!

I only have tomorrow and Wednesday left at work, but have booked a midwife appointment for 3.30 on Wednesday, so can finish early.

I'm 37 weeks today. All I've done is go to a cafe, the supermarket and playgroup and I'm shattered. DD has got away with putting Shrek on again- not too impressed that DH taught her how.

Good luck to everyone else who on their way.

Saphiesgirl · 19/11/2012 15:54

Congratulations pidg, great news!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/11/2012 15:55

On BBC good food there's a one pot moussaka recipe which freezes nicely it's yum!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 19/11/2012 15:56

Well midwife appointment was normal tbh. Had a couple of high readings (nothing over 8.5) so she's questioning upping the metformin but I think that was the maple syrup covered carrots. So shall be more strict I suppose.

Obstetrician appointment on thurs so will hopefully get an induction date. I got all excited when I read my notes and it said 5/5, until I realised that means not engaged at all, rather than fully engaged. Bum! Lol.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/11/2012 16:02

Don't worry Stacey mine is still 'free' so not engaged at all either! Thursday isn't too long away Smile
