Happy new year ladies!
Welcome mootton!
I haven't posted for about a week and there's so much to catch up on! Good to hear about the flutterings! It's all feeling that much more real now isn't it?!
I'm impressed with everyone's bargains too. Like dontmind and aloha this is 2nd dc for us so hope to have lots already. Like dontmind last time I had winter baby too so agree about the clothes! DS will be 2.5 when this little one arrives and loves walking at the moment do hoping buggy board will be good but not sure? Have icandy apple and have been really pleased with that so am hoping to just treat myself to a good change bag this time around. Need to get DS into big boy bed by the time baby needs anything bigger than Moses basket too! Am I right in thinking I need to get new mattress for both Moses and cotbed?
So much to think of!
Glad most of you are feeling more human now! I've been lots better but was sick again yesterday- grrrr!

MrsBri · 01/01/2013 10:24

Morning, AmI! Yesterday brought sickness to me to...only just made it to work on the train, throwing up on arrival. Nice! Worst journey yet.

Weird, isn't it?

redwellybluewelly · 01/01/2013 13:36

I saw in the new year only because DH promised me a lie in this morning if I did. I did have a glass of bucks fizz. Being quite relaxed this time round.

We have the Apple as well and love it but still think we might need a double for a bit, secondhand mountain buggy on my eBay list after the next scan.

We didn't have a Moses basket last time but had a bednest instead. Rubbish mattressnd very expensive bedside table as it turned out. DD is flatly refusing to swap to a single bed but hopefully we have the majority of the year before we have to consider two cots!

redwellybluewelly · 01/01/2013 13:37

Oh and new car seat this time round as well.

SparklySanta · 01/01/2013 13:48

Bri we've just spent £550 on a cot bed, wardrobe and drawer set with table top changer!! Not sure if that's a good price but its so cute I couldn't resist!! Sale ends tomorrow!! We're not buying anything else now until I'm much further on, unless we see a bargain obviously!!!

MrsBri · 01/01/2013 15:02

Ooh...good price :-) What design? Did you do the baby plan thing or buy it there and then?

SparklySanta · 01/01/2013 16:03

From mothercare, it's called 'puzzle' I think, it's beech, white and green!! Yep we did the baby plan, so 10% deposit, picked a delivery date, we've gone for 4 weeks before due date and jobs a goodun!!

MrsBri · 01/01/2013 16:37

Ooh, cute. I've just looked and I'm going to call and order the Taunton tomorrow, which is just white :-) Glad you tipped me off!

forgetmenots · 01/01/2013 16:50

I love that set sparkly. Lovely choice. Hoping the deals will still be there when I get paid!

SparklySanta · 01/01/2013 17:12

forget according to the lady in the shop it finishes on 2nd so tomorrow!!

forgetmenots · 01/01/2013 17:57

Argh! No chance! Not to worry, did get a good pram deal so can't complain!

MrsBri · 01/01/2013 18:10

You only need to find 10%...I get paid on Friday, so utilising the overdraft til my money goes in! :-)

forgetmenots · 01/01/2013 18:20

Oooooh...

pinkapples · 01/01/2013 19:35

I've visiting ikea mothercare and babies r us on Saturday woohoo!

LittlemissChristmas · 01/01/2013 20:15

Hope you all had a good Xmas and sober new year Smile
Been a while since I've been on, still got horrendous ms and I've also had a fluey virus over Xmas so spent all week in bed.
I think we have decided on an iCandy peach just got to pick a colour and hopes MiL agrees as she is paying

I spent quite a lot of money online in next sale on mat clothes but don't feel well enough to try them on yet. My clothes of choice are currently some very attractive comfy pyjamas!
I'm now 16 weeks so really hope to start feeling better soon. Does anyone else have an anterior placenta and felt anything yet?

LittlemissChristmas · 01/01/2013 20:16

P.s I really need to name change!!

SunnyL · 01/01/2013 22:20

Happy New Year all. Does anyone on here have experience with cats and newborns? We're getting advice from the vet next week about ours. He's a violent little bugger and highly unpredictable. He was a rescue cat and we've had him 5 years but I just don't think we've managed to shift his aggressive tendencies. Given the way he is I can't see many options.

pinkapples · 02/01/2013 06:03

Littlemiss ill be 17+1 today and I've felt nothing yet also anterior placenta so not too worried it'll be our turn soon x

SparklySanta · 02/01/2013 09:24

sunny that's a tricky one, I think as your saying 'violent little bugger' you need to consider what's best, but then as long as you don't leave the baby unattended with the cat you'll be fine! My kitties will be banned from the bedrooms when baby arrives, and they're only allowed in to the main part when we're home, so I'll just keep an eye on them!

MrsBri · 02/01/2013 09:41

Morning all...off work the rest of this week, thank god! Finally getting a rest after working all over Christmas / New Year.

Feeling decidedly non-pregnant today again. Wouldn't it be great if it was more consistent?!

Though my breasts are still itchy, which is marvellous! Anybody else really suffering from itchy boobs? Not really socially acceptable to wander round scratching my boobs, is it? :-(

ella0 · 02/01/2013 09:51

Happy new year everyone :) I haven't posted for a while as I've been away.

We had a private gender scan just over a week ago and found out we are having a girl! :)

We ordered the Taunton furniture set from Mothercare last week - it is being delivered this week (saw it in person a couple of weeks ago and loved it). We liked a Mamas and Papas set but the wardrobe was far too short.

I haven't had a chance to look in the sales, but I might be tempted by a few pink bits if there are any bargains left by the time I can get to the shops.

Hope you're all feeling ok. I've been very lucky as I haven't had morning sickness at all.

MrsBri · 02/01/2013 10:33

Ella, we will have matching furniture, as I've just ordered that too, though getting it in May as we still need to move!

Are you excited about having a girl? I'm determined not to find out. :-)

I'm sure there will be some pink stuff in the sales still.

pinkapples · 02/01/2013 10:34

Think I just noticed I'm getting bigger went to open a door and banged my belly as I didn't get belly out of the way ouchies!

forgetmenots · 02/01/2013 10:37

Congratulations Ella - is that our first confirmed gender on the thread? May have missed other announcements!

Withalittlesparkle · 02/01/2013 10:40

Ella Congrats about having a girl!! how exciting

We still have another 4 weeks to find out, we're going to find out because the not knowing is driving me mad, I hate refering to my baby as 'it'

I've started a baby spreadsheet, and am now getting worried about just how expensive these babies are!!!! wishing we'd started saving up ages ago!!!
