New thread for June 2013 :)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CuriosityCola · 03/12/2012 16:43

Do we have Kate on our thread?! Wink Really feel for her if she has hyperemisis. Might do it good to have some publicity for the condition though.

forgetmenots · 03/12/2012 17:46

Hi there, booking my place and will get my stats added! Bit worried today because I got a really bad pain in my lower back, only lasted five mins or so but took the wind right out of me - fully expected to go to the loo and see blood :( Nothing so fr, so hope all is well. Had a private scan at 10+3 and all was well, now 13+0 and scan on Thursday...

Anyone else having what I am only describe as a twinge below your belly button, almost like a pulse or a bubble that comes sporadically? Hope it's normal...

PS I am not the Duchess of Cambridge Grin

RueDeWakening · 03/12/2012 17:48

Right, which one of you is the Duchess? peers around suspiciously Grin

RueDeWakening · 03/12/2012 17:48

Urge, pointy brackets fail Smile

I dislike this new app, the smilies are nasty too!

suzyrut · 03/12/2012 17:55

Hi all,

Fortunately it all went well and had my cvs today and though it wasn't pleasant it certainly wasn't as painful as I expected, now at home with feet up and dp is at Waitrose stocking up on comfort food items (chocolate). Will be resting tomorrow and should hopefully have the results by sometime on Thursday.

Thanks for all your good wishes and thoughts.

Suzy xx

MrsBri · 03/12/2012 17:56

Is this an I'm Spartacus moment?!

I'm the Duchess. No, I'm the Duchess.

I'm actually not though! Do we think she's in with us June lot? :-)

Was sick just before leaving work today. Lovely. :-/

How is everyone else today?

Hope it all went well, Suzy. xx

DontmindifIdo · 03/12/2012 18:04

I've read she's not at 12 weeks yet and only found out last month, so I reckon Katy's on the July thread... Xmas Smile

AlohaMama · 03/12/2012 18:18

Good luck on the results suzy

welly to add to others comments, I didn't 'bond' till I felt ds moving inside me last time. To be fair even when he was born I would say it was a more gradual process rather than sudden 'falling in love at first sight' type of thing. Now of course love him to bits. I think everyone feels different.

Sorry you're still feeling sick MrsBri, hopefully it'll ease up soon.

Little9 · 03/12/2012 18:20

Good luck for results Suzy. Glad they managed to get it done this time.

News said Kate was about 2 months therefore think you're right Dontmind.

Only 3 days to my scan on Friday when I should be 13 weeks. Can't wait! Hope all will be well.

Hope all the ms goes for everyone soon. I'll just annoy everyone by saying that I have been lucky not to get any (hopefully that's not a bad sign!!!)

ExpatMamaToBe · 03/12/2012 18:23

Fingers crossed suzy!!! x

DontmindifIdo · 03/12/2012 18:26

Actually, is anyone ever so slightly annoyed about the WillKate announcement, re names? She'll have her baby just after ours, and whatever name she picks will shoot up to the top of the name list, so while we might have thought we've picked something nice and unusual but classic, whatever she picks will suddenly become terribly common (I recognise that I am rather oversensitive due to being one of 4 girls with the same name in my class at school, and would hate this to happen for next DC). And our poor DCs will spend their lives saying "actually no, i'm not named after Prince/Princess X, I was born before them."

(possibly over thinking this)

dreamydays · 03/12/2012 18:29

Good luck suzy. congrats to all those with successful scans.

forgetmenots yes I'm having those occasional bubbly/pulsing feelings! In my case it's the baby "quickening" (ie first movements you can feel) I'm sure. I know from my scan that the baby is right at the front and that it has a huge head. The other morning, while I was lying on my back in bed, I got a v clear bulge from the head on one side of my tummy. I know it sounds early, but I've no doubt that's what it is. I'm almost 14w. Exciting!

dreamydays · 03/12/2012 18:30

Good point dontmind, we need to choose names the royals wouldn't!

CuriosityCola · 03/12/2012 18:50

dontmind their baby name choices were the first thing I thought about. Another thread had them predicted as June, but the calculations for July sound more accurate. Might have to go and snoop on the July thread Grin

DontmindifIdo · 03/12/2012 18:57

Dreamy - there's only one thing for it, girls called Camilla, Queenie, Tracey or Catherine (she doesn't look like the sort to name her DD after her) or boys called Wayne, Tyrone, Brad or Harrison.

CuriosityCola · 03/12/2012 19:07

Now hearing lots of remedies for ms on tv. The one show advocates pear drops. I did need an excuse to eat more sweets Wink

dreamydays · 03/12/2012 19:18

Haha! Yes I reckon those names are pretty safe, especially Camilla! Someone mentioned in our facebook group that if it's a girl, they'll call her Diana...

SparklySanta · 03/12/2012 19:22

I guess name wise it'd be something traditional rather than unusual, there's probably some naming etiquette they have to follow, no one is going to be very impressed when queen tallulah takes the throne!!

I'm pretty sure my names are safe, well the boys name anyway, girls name could go either way but I've had these names picked out forever so I won't change for something a bit more out there, unless she pops early!!

Sarah2506 · 03/12/2012 20:02

Hey hey, had my scan this morning, 12 +3 instead of 12 as thought, which means our conception story is after a curry in Barnet as opposed to in a thunderstorm in the mountains in Slovenia. I may stick with the latter. Sounds better! NT reading was only 1mm. That's about as good as it gets yes? The smaller the better? None of the other ladies in the waiting room had bloods taken, just me. Out of interest why would you decide against? Should I take 1mm as home and dry and stop worrying now??

Felt sorry for Kate. She would like to just sit and eat biscuits on the sofa like the rest of us, and have a quiet hospital admission if needed. Instead she is outed at what, 6-8 weeks, because of who she is. I now fear the endless 'looking good in pregnancy' articles with pictures of a neat bump whilst I slowly bid for obtaining my own postcode, such is the growth of my arse......

dreamydays · 03/12/2012 20:30

Hi Sarah my NT reading was also 1mm, dr said it means there should be nothing to worry about. (although I still worry a bit as I'm 38.)

You're right, her no doubt perfect bump is going to put a lot of pressure on us...

MrsBri · 03/12/2012 20:31

Sarah, my boobs are making a bid for their own postcode. My bump for its own county! :-/ Not even 12 weeks yet.

Though my right boob appears to be a bit bigger than my left. Hope that sorts itself out ASAP!

Feeling seriously dizzy / nauseous this evening. Surely the sickness is meant to get better about now, not worse?

Nice to be moved forward on your scan :-) Only 8 days til mine, thank god!

Glad it seemed to go well, Suzy...we cross-posted earlier.

DontmindifIdo · 03/12/2012 20:43

Sarah, mine was 1.4 - and my dates were moved forward as well to 13 weeks from 12 + 3 as I thought I was. However, she said it might not be that we have date of conception wrong, more that it could be the baby has had a little 'growth spurt' and will be back to measuring correct dates at the 20 week scan. I guess they do'nt all grow at the same rate!

There's going to be a lot of "isn't she looking glamorous and elegant while pregnant" articles, I am not going to try to compete, I'm going to be a mess by the end, esp if it's hot (I can't be the only one praying for a rainy miserable spring???). That said, last time round, at around 36 weeks my hair and skin went amazing! Although I was dressed like a bag lady, I looked smoking - pity it was snowing outside and my hips had stopped working properly so I ended up spending the last 2 weeks sitting on the sofa watching day time TV and not letting anyone see the only bit of the pregnancy when I did actually have that glow... (DS arrived at 38 weeks)

I'm going to tell my boss tomorrow. Anyone thinking about when they are going to go off work yet? Last time round, I was working for a fabulous woman who has 3 DCs of her own, who was most understanding and kind, giving me very good 'motherly' advice about resting, trying to get me to finish earlier, not letting me stay late etc, this time round, I'm working for a bloke who's a complete arse and will want to know how this is going to effect him. I think I'm going to have to make a decision relatively soon so they can plan. I know as well i'm going to be made to feel guilty if i need extra time compared to what I said to start with, and be expected to keep any appointments to my non-work days (I'm only working 3 days a week).

spiderlight · 03/12/2012 21:10

Hope all has gone well today, suzy.

I've got my scan tomorrow morning. Wibbling a bit.

MrsJLS85 · 03/12/2012 21:10

Lol Sarah.. I know Kate's going to have the cutest bump throughout and I already look ready to pop at 14 weeks... urgh...

Yes I also thought about the name thing right away when hearing about Kate. But I suspect there must be some etiquette to naming an heir to the throne, and they'll have to go traditional. Thankfully, DH and I are all about unique names. Like you dontmind I was always one of a handful of girls with the same name growing up and hated it. We've given DD1 quite a different name, more associated with boys, and absolutely love it, and we always get great compliments about it.

Good luck suzy with the results

olimoss · 03/12/2012 21:34

That Middleton has totally stolen my (our) thunder!

Re: nuchal measurements, I'm also 38 and it was 1:170 due to age but hit blood results back today and it's shifted out to 1:5700. A bit of an improvement!

Bloods def a good thing. I think now we'll just keep all digits crossed and not go the CVS/amnio route.
