Oh how exciting debussy! Call your unit to let them know. Proper gush like on telly!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/11/2012 21:06

Envy debussey

I am having more pain. Huzzah! Grin

kirrinIsland · 07/11/2012 21:13

Debussy How exciting! Second the advice to call in - I think there's a time frame for things to start happening before they get you in anyway? Very Envy as well!

I'm having some pretty good contractions and cramps but nothing regular - trying and failing not to get my hopes up. Been like this since Saturday!

georgee · 07/11/2012 21:18

Ooh Debussy!! That is pretty blooming exciting. And Sophia, fingers crossed for more pain (in the nicest possible way).

I'm just going to google what to do with a birthing ball. I seem to have forgotten since last time.

Chunky had a bit of a meltdown with DH earlier too, it seems so near and yet so far and yet so uncertain ... and poor DD has had such a crap week with a mother who just wants to lay on the sofa. So I have the guilt in addition to all of that!

Good luck for overnight all, here's hoping for all sorts of birthing action before morning ... x

DebussyHead · 07/11/2012 21:26

I called they said to come in once contractions start strongly and no layer than 8am tomorrow. They said to bring in the wet pads fir them to check?!Blush. But I can't even wear knickers and pads as pouring out so just sitting on towels.

Its not sore yet just braxton hicks and fanjo stabbing pains occasionally. Thanks for your good wishes, hope things kick off for you guys too.

georgee · 07/11/2012 21:32

Ooh, sorry Kirrin, good luck to you too!! x

shanelle5 · 07/11/2012 21:37

Ooh more exciting news. Good luck debussy look forward to checking in and reading your baby announcement very soon! Dont forget photo on FB when you get chance! Not too much pressure then Blush

Passmethecrisps · 07/11/2012 21:51

Cripes! All happening at once! I have taken myself off to bed. Fingers crossed there are some babies in the morning

Hello Kalastrophe ! Sorry I'm away up in Scottishland so can't help but hope you find someone. I did a similar study when I was studying Psychology at Aberdeen and second what's been said about mum's finding it really helpful. Lots of lovely mummys to be on our thread!

How exciting debussy fc for newborn snuggles by morning xxx

Dh has been an absolute star this week looking after me and helping round the house but I'm in such a mood with him tonight. I don't even know why. I've just been a complete bitch to him all evening for no reason and now I want to cry Blush Even his laugh is making me want to punch him.

mrswee · 07/11/2012 22:15

good luck tonight all of you on the move!

I don't know what happened to my waters with DD! I def had a show with DD, I'll never forget the sight of that, like the biggest bogey I've ever seen... but the waters were just a mystery!

So it will come as a massive surprise If/when my waters break this time round!

Passmethecrisps · 07/11/2012 22:19

Good luck kelastrophe. I am another in Scotland so can't help but I hope you get someone.

Ladies, I have a question about my scan today which might sound stupid. I have been reading about possible causes of low birth weight and it seems like my placenta might be getting 'old'. This would explain the normal growth up until 3 weeks ago. What I was wondering was should I eat more high calorie stuff? I know baby won't grow more but I am worried about sustaining it in the meantime. I am being dumb aren't I? I am just concerne about starving the baby!

Chunkychicken · 07/11/2012 22:27

No idea Pass but I would guess the concern about the effectiveness of the placenta is why sweeps/induction is being offered at this stage. I would suggest you continue to eat healthily and get some gentle exercise, rest & try not to worry. If it was that great a concern, the medical bods would be making more suggestion/recommendations etc.

Kelastrophe I'm in the SE (NW Kent) so not actually in London but might not be too far for you - think there are however some posters closer to London.

Dixiebell · 07/11/2012 22:59

Good luck debussy, checking the stats list it looks like your LO is right on time, EDD today? How obliging of him! My waters went first with DS, but then nothing happened and was induced 48 hrs later. But hopefully will kick things off for you...try & get some sleep before morning if you can!!

Chunkychicken · 07/11/2012 23:15

I've just had an 'ouch' moment - eye-watering crampy stomach pain. Going to bed now so won't be getting my hopes up but, in the nicest possible way, hope Debussy & Kirrin have more... :)

Iheartpasties · 07/11/2012 23:31

Passme good luck! And yes a bed next to your sister would be awesome! (great idea liliana, apart from the obvious geographical problems though!!)

shanelle sounds promising for you! Best of luck!

dh21 oh dear, hard news for your friends baby.

debussy I am very jealous of waters going. Best of luck to you my Lovely. (Actually want to put Lover, but think it ?reads? weird, but it?s what we say in Cornwall!!).

georgee the guilt about having no energy to do anything with a toddler is hard isn?t it! Argh! DD is currently playing on our bed, very naughty but she is happy so I?m happy!

Bloody excited for y?all who are having contractions etc etc !!!!!!!

Iheartpasties · 07/11/2012 23:40

I saw my midwife last night/evening, DH came. It was a nice meeting, we talked things through and I came away feeling positive.

TMI - When I wiped this morning after a wee, I had some pink. But I dont think it was anything. Argh! Also had some diarrhea. Seems like good signs but also just dunno really.

wellieboots · 07/11/2012 23:59

40+8 here and waters broke this morning, well actually I think they started last night but DH didn't believe me Confused. Woke up at 6 and there was lots more fluid and bloody discharge on the pad, so I called delivery and went in for monitoring.

They were happy for me to come back home as I'm not in labour yet and I prefer to be in my own space as long as possible. They'll give me til tomorrow am and then they'll want me back in to induce. Just hope it kicks off properly by itself.

Good luck to everyone who is ramping up! :)

Iheartpasties · 08/11/2012 00:26

wellie wow for you! Good luck in the next 24 hours! Congrats! you're baby will be here soon.

ComradeJing · 08/11/2012 00:47

Thought it was all kicking off last night! Couldnt sleep, strong (but painless) BH, my milk has just come in (nipples ache) and just felt weird.

Good luck to those with waters breaking and everyone else.

Iheartpasties · 08/11/2012 01:49

Oh lord - fed up now.

GinaNicol · 08/11/2012 02:30

Hi everyone! I am 38 weeks and having Brixton hicks all the time(every day for the last 1.5 months) so it's a bit difficult to say when I am going in labour therefore I am on the edge all the time thinking that " maybe today is the Day". My first due date was 27th Nov. then due to scan measurements has been changed to 23rd Nov, then at my 3rd scan they wanted to change it again!!! But I did mention that it has been changed already so it can't be possible my due date to be any earlier then that! Now I am thinking that maybe they r right! Only time will tell.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 08/11/2012 03:53

Ahh did I say I wanted pain? Has ramped up majorly overnight, have Tens on. Not really timing, don't want to tempt fate.

pass try not to worry, I'm sure you will be on your way soon with a lovely snuggly newborn, hopefully things start moving soon. Xx

Good luck to everyone in the early stages of labour.

pikz · 08/11/2012 05:06

Ooooooh good luck to everyone it is ramping up for. Hope it means many more safely delivered newborns soon...

Sophiathesnowfairy · 08/11/2012 05:34

Just phoned hosp, they said was ok to stay at home a little longer. I am abut 5-6 mins apart, really painful but coping without gas an air at the mo. keep going hot and cold. Have left DH to sleep till a reasonable hour.

Xx
