Thanks Brockle. You'd think I'd be better prepared given its #2 but I swear I didn't have any warning, BH or anything before DD. The first sign she was on her way was the show/slight period pains, and she came 12hrs later!! I know every pg is different but this is ridiculous [hgrin]

Chunkychicken · 25/10/2012 13:51

Sophia [hgrin]

There's me calling hubby! He's off today and my niece has given us loads of baby clothes. He sent me to bed for a bit and now I've come down he's blown up the birthing pool, been out and bought the midwifes some posh choccy biscuits (he said we can't be offering them Asda own brand ones so got a Christmas box of McVities) and bought my favourite Lenor to wash all the bedding with, all baby clothes are washed, dried and folded up into neat little piles ready for me to sort out.

On a twatty side, I'm covered from head to toe in an itchy red rash, small blisters on elbows, still have headaches and the flashing in my eyes is getting worse, have had it twice now in 3 days! I'm off to see the midwife now so see what she says, bet it's 'well you are pregnant', that's all I got until a UTI was diagnosed last time.

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/10/2012 14:06

dixie that sounds like a really yummy lunch!

I'm currently in the hairdressers about to be transformed not

Titsalinabumsquash · 25/10/2012 14:11

Very quick update, bizarrely I'm awaiting an urgent neurology scan on the ward because my headache is so bad

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 25/10/2012 14:12

The lights and headaches sound like they need monitored shelly the rash sounds like that polymorphic eruption of pregnancy if I have he name anywhere near correct. My poor friend suffered and was induced because it was so debilitating. Hope the midwife is a bit more helpful!

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 25/10/2012 14:14

Cross posted with you tits

Hope you are ok and they can scan you quickly to see what's going on in there.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/10/2012 14:16

Hope everything is ok tits

DonnaDoon · 25/10/2012 14:18

Chunky Just wanted to say be careful as I had DD at 36+3 after thinking they were braxton hicks lol

FatimaLovesBread · 25/10/2012 14:35

Hmm think i've made an error. Going out for tea tonight with some friends and one suggested a lovely Carribbean restaurant. 'Yes, fine' Says I. However, thinking about it, I really don't think it's going to be a good idea with the monster heartburn and reflux I've been having. The food is gorgeous but obviously rich and spicy. Going to have to try pick the mildest thing on the menu me thinks

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/10/2012 14:55

Oo fatima but I am going to Southall for a fabby curry tomorrow night and am looking forward to deep fried chillies!

Just pop a bottle of gaviscon in your clutch and swig in between courses! [hshock]

eversomuch · 25/10/2012 15:10

Oh, Sophia, I have just moved to to the area and have heard that Southall is great for curry. Any specific places you can recommend, preferably that deliver?

eversomuch · 25/10/2012 15:14

I hope everything is ok, tits.

I've just finalised my birth plan. Next, I really need to rummage through my hospital bag again and make sure it's all in order. Packed it when we moved house last month but haven't opened it since. I know it needs a few things -- like a bar of chocolate. :)

Chunkychicken · 25/10/2012 15:17

Thanks Donna - I am on knicker watch and making sure the aches & pains aren't regular!!

Have a wedding to go to on Sat which isn't that far but its a good drive away and I'm a little concerned, although not enough not to go in the first place. The nearest hospital is probably back our way (the town itself only has a cottage hospital so it wild mean going further away from home to get to the nearest delivery suite iyswim) so bags will be in the car just in case!!! Hope its just me being mad & second-guessing every twinge or tingle, at least for a few more days...

Chunkychicken · 25/10/2012 15:18

Best of luck Tits hope its nothing serious... x

TiAAAAARGHo · 25/10/2012 15:38

Hmmm. About 20 days ago I developed a hacking cough. About 10 days ago I had my WC vaccination. I still have the cough, which is like trying to clear something off my chest and occasionally causes me a problem when breathing in (it's like something in my throat flicks shut for a second or two during a coughing fit).

Just read the WC information on the BBC website, and am now wondering if I actually have WC (in which case the vaccination was fairly pointless) because apparently adults don't 'whoop'. Has anyone had WC? Does this sound like WC to you?

I suppose that the benefit will be that DD will be positively swimming in antibodies Confused by now.

WaitingForMe · 25/10/2012 15:40

Thanks for all the good wishes. DH says he thinks it went well and he liked the bloke who would be his boss if he got it. Interviews into early next week so just a case of waiting now. We have a tradition of taking the other out for a fancy meal when they get a job but I'm 37 weeks today and know he'll get one even if it's not this one so suggested I buy him lunch since I'm neither in labour nor have a small baby.

Went to a fabulous Chinese. I'm really picky as I used to live in the Far East but there the dishes that are meant to be spicy actually are. I've had terrible heartburn and reflux Fatima but feel great after loads of spicy dishes. I'm not convinced it makes much difference as yesterday's heartburn was terrible after pasta.

We sleep in our loft Detective (with proper walls, veluxs and carpet I hasten to add) and have no garage. Furthermore the cupboard under the stairs was so big that I had that plastered and put a proper floor down and it houses the party fridge. I rather like having no dumping grounds but it bewilders MIL as to where I put stuff.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/10/2012 15:59

eversomuch I live about half an hour away but every couple of months I go with a few friends from work. There are two places that we go to that are on the main street opposite MacDonalds. I don't know the names as I just get taken along but on Friday I will write them down and check out if they do takeaway. They are both brilliant and the prices are amazingly cheap compared to what they would be at a curry place here. For a better meal.
Xx

applepieinthesky · 25/10/2012 16:00

Another vote for the blocks fatima. In fact I might buy some myself.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/10/2012 16:02

Grin@chunky I am on knicker watch too!

Passmethecrisps · 25/10/2012 16:04

I get heartburn after drinking water so j say go for it! Carribean sounds delicious. Never had it but I do fancy it

I took myself off to bed, read for a while then slept. Have had about an hour and a half and feel much better. I was worrying about my body clock getting all confused - not sleeping until 4am then not getting up until 10:30 - but I figure it doesn't really matter. I should sleep while I can I suppose as things are not going to get any easier with a baby

Off to eat a pomegranate.

ShellyBobbs · 25/10/2012 16:15

Tits hope everything is OK with you.

I've got to go to the hospital tomorrow to have this rash checked out, the midwife has took a load of blood and the results will be there when I get to the hospital tomorrow so we'll see.

She told me that she saw a woman today who gave herself a sweep with a toothbrush lol [hgrin] a literal sweep! Ewwwwwwww!

VQ should be having cuddles now.

ShellyBobbs · 25/10/2012 16:17

Oh and to cheer me up, she measured the head at 4/5, but I said that won't mean anything with my baggy windsock womb will it? She said I've got excellent muscle tone for someone who has been pregnant and given birth to 3 children, how mega chuffed was I............until hubby said it's all the sit ups she does, sitting up in bed drinking a brew, sitting up on the settee! Cheeky bugger [hgrin]

FatimaLovesBread · 25/10/2012 16:19

With a toothbrush Shock

Titsalinabumsquash · 25/10/2012 16:25

I'm not in immediate danger but I'm staying in until tomorrow and possibly having a CT scan if headache is no better. I had some awesome braxtons earlier and got excited but they've stopped now. Sad
