Welcome to the connecting bus ladies, next stop morning sickness, booking in, and dating scans. Grin
Estimated Time of Arrive late May early June 2013.

I know we said we'd wait until the end of the month, But I'm so excited. and hungry, and need a wee again, and nervous, and my boobs hurt, and the voyeuristic spiders are still watching me

We'll keep our FX that we all stay the distance, and our ttc sisters will join us soon.

Thanks! So excited to be here.

Will go back and read through the thread to see what I missed later. At the moment I'm completely pg-symptom free which is a bit weird. I didn't think I was going to get a BFP because my boobs are fine, I don't feel sick, I don't feel any more tired than the other people I was in Spain with (all that swimming and jumping in the pool is hard work Smile ). It's a bit strange.

peardrop2 · 08/10/2012 10:04

Morning ladies! How are you all? Sorry to hear that some of you have been down with colds and coughs :-( That doesn't sound nice! I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and I've been having a little secret freak out as I still don't have any MS!!!!! I know we've discussed this before but it's freaking me out as it makes me feel so non-pregnant Blush!!! I now want to have a private scan to put my mind at rest but DH thinks we should be saving the money and that I'm over worrying and should be more patient and wait 4 weeks until the 12 week scan...but I'm not finding this easy at all :-/ I see the midwife on Thursday. Does anyone know if they do any tests that shows that the pregnancy is progressing? What if I took a pregnancy test at home? Uuuuhhhh I hate the wait :-(

Lorelei353 · 08/10/2012 10:05

I don't know how I managed not to drink, especially since I didn't feel pregnant and was convinced I'd get a BFN or AF would inconveniently arrive any day. My other half doesn't really drink and neither did one of the other people we had the villa with (there were 5 of us in total) so it wasn't a really boozy trip for any of us which helped!

IBelieveInPink · 08/10/2012 10:30

pear I have been feeling exactly the same! Am 7 weeks this week, midwife apptmt on Monday (next week) so planning on asking for some sort of verification that I am pg and not going mental! Keen to know what she is going to be able to do to reassure me though!

peardrop2 · 08/10/2012 10:50

Pink oh well I guess it is nice to know I'm not alone. I wonder what the stats are for ms! I'm just really tired, hungry all the time with sore boobs. I will be asking the midwife on Thursday so I'll let you know what feedback I get. FX our midwives will help us with the anxiety!

kittykatskumkwat · 08/10/2012 11:23

Chuckles at pear and pink, the midwife doesn't do anything to verify your pregnant or that's it progressing, sorry, she will be mainly taking your details and blood samples, she will probably ask say have you had a period, which you will say no, then she will say there you go Wink
Pear I think the stats are that 70% get ms but it's not like you don't have other pg symptoms is it? You need to get that sickness thing out of your head and enjoy it, there is nothing worse then feeling sick particulaly when you have to work and no one knows! Enjoy those sore boobs and tiredness, that's all I had with dd and even then mild, I have been feeling abit sicky the last few days and hate it, I don't see it as a good sign as I still felt Ill after mc so for me it's no indication things are going well, we don't know what the future will hold, if a private scan will reassure you then it's worth it as you can get then for £50 and if it puts your mind at rest it's money we'll spent x

fashionvictim · 08/10/2012 11:29

Yay Lorelei that's great news! Welcome aboard Smile

I've got the sodding cold too!! Damn you germs! On top of the nausea and epic tiredness it is making me feel really awful Sad Sad Haven't actually thrown up yet, sure that will come soon...

Pink and Pear I still think I'm imagining being pg, even though I feel dreadful, so you're not the only ones! Enjoy feeling normal-ish while you can Smile

Thundercat Hey buddy! How you doing? I can't remember when your booking in appointment is, mine is the 30th so ages to go yet...

Thundercatsarego · 08/10/2012 11:42

Morning ponk, pear, kitty and fash,

I agree with Kitty- stop worrying! having said that I did poas last week, was reassured to see the line- ridiculous I know!

I haven't been sick at all. Do gag in the mornings and evenings though, still the damn slugs everywhere making my stomach flip.

fash, I don't have one yet. Waiting for midwife to call me. They said they like to do it between 8-10 weeks so that should be in next couple of weeks (7 weeksish now).

IBelieveInPink · 08/10/2012 11:52

Really? They don't do anything? Not even check your hormones in your blood? Oh boo, I had so got myself set on the fact that the appointment would reassure me. Maybe I need to look at scans then. Boo.

peardrop2 · 08/10/2012 11:55

Wow Kitty where do you live to get £50 scans! Where I live they charge up to £250 for a private scan!!

If anyone else tells me not to worry I might scream Angry

FrustratedSycamorePants · 08/10/2012 12:27

Hey fash mines the 1st. (Booking in)

Ok ok sorry pear Sad

kittykatskumkwat · 08/10/2012 12:57

Pear I'd never say don't worry, that's impossible and it a horrible nervy time for all, all I'd say is not to worry about symptoms as I really don't think they tell us anything and can fluctuate daily, as you said yourself you've had friends with non, I had non and it was all ok, our bodies are all so different that every one of my pregnancies have been different! Plus you do have the classic symptoms of tiredness and hunger!
I live in Cheshire and there's a place in stoke that does it for £55, I went for a 4d scan in st Helen's neer Wigan called take a peek for £65 with dd, look around more on the Internet and use a private place not hospitals, they are much cheeper
Pink- no sorry I don't know what the bloods are for but I think blood types etc but no they don't check hcg as far as I know, it wasn't on my notes anyway

Jojoba1986 · 08/10/2012 13:02

Wow! Everyone's chatty this morning! My boobs are definitely sore today & I'm sooo exhausted I don't know what I'm doing! I put DS down for a sleep because he missed his morning nap but I should have given him his lunch first & let him have a really long afternoon sleep! I'm gonna have to wake him up for lunch now! I feel so mean! Sad

Pear Worry as much as you want! Nerves & uncertainty are all part of this early stage & it just makes it so much sweeter when you finally get to see that tiny heart beating! Well you said you didn't want people telling you not to worry! Wink
I can't believe that Lickle Pickle's heart will start beating any day now! Amazing!

peardrop2 · 08/10/2012 13:19

Thunder don't worry I actually meant RL people like my DH and mum not peeps on this thread Grin

Kitty Thanks for the info. I suddenly wish I live in Cheshire! I am starting to wonder if my pregant friends lied to me about the non-ms just so they didn't have to talk about it admit it! I'll do some more research like you say.

JoJo I've seen the heartbeat at 6 weeks and I'm still freaking out...I know...I'm a nightmare Grin

Lorelei353 · 08/10/2012 14:07

So, having got my BFP I need to make a GP appt right? This is clearly my first time and since I didn't grow up in this country I don't really know the systems well. My GP will then give me info on local maternity and the booking in appt is 8-11 weeks with midwife? Have I got that right?

I'm a bit of a dunce Blush

Jojoba1986 · 08/10/2012 14:10

Pear I'm not sure if the worry ever really goes away! I regularly find myself wondering if I should check on my DS because he's gone quiet while in his cot! Most of the time I can convince myself I'm being ridiculous! Hmm
For the record, my only early pg symptom with DS was sudden diarrhoea & fainting around the time of implantation! I did get steadily more tired between 6-12 weeks & was obsessed with how wonderful a lemon smelled for a few minutes at around 4 weeks! Nothing particularly dramatic though & I often forgot I was pregnant even when I had a big bump! Blush I was also semi-convinced it was a hysterical pregnancy & the scans were faked just to pander to my insanity! I think paranoia should actually be added to official pg symptoms lists & not dismissed as anxiety/irrational/'hormones'! What else are pg symptoms if they're not hormone-related! Grin

Jojoba1986 · 08/10/2012 14:14

Lorelei, the GP may or may not want to see you - it varies depending on your local area! In my area they give out a form for you to fill in & take to the midwife's base at a nearby clinic & they'll then arrange to see you between 8-10 weeks. Just give your GP a ring & they'll be able to tell you their procedures! Smile

Lorelei353 · 08/10/2012 14:15

Oh, right. Thanks. I'll call them now!

Lorelei353 · 08/10/2012 14:21

Gave them a call and they don't want to see me until 8-9 weeks so booked in for 1st Nov. Excited!

kittykatskumkwat · 08/10/2012 14:38

Pear, I'm not making it up , PROMISE, I felt sick once with dd before I knew I was pregnant and just thought it was because I was hungry, I ate, it went Grin
I think I got a headache a few times at 9 weeks and the tiredness and needing to pee in the night definatly got worse as time progressed

FrustratedSycamorePants · 08/10/2012 14:55

Oo oo oo same day as me lorelei
