Welcome to the connecting bus ladies, next stop morning sickness, booking in, and dating scans. Grin
Estimated Time of Arrive late May early June 2013.

I know we said we'd wait until the end of the month, But I'm so excited. and hungry, and need a wee again, and nervous, and my boobs hurt, and the voyeuristic spiders are still watching me

We'll keep our FX that we all stay the distance, and our ttc sisters will join us soon.

I'm pleased to report that I can now say 'runny yolk/funny joke' without a hint of a chuckle! Phew!

Enjoy your scan Pear! Do come back & make us all jealous by telling us how lovely it is to see something there, even if it's not got 10 fingers/toes yet!
JSYK - I had a ridiculously smooth 1st pregnancy. My mum mc'd her 1st - one guess what I was terrified of! I also seem to have my paternal grandmother's ability to have a pain-free labour unlike her daughter so it is possible to inherit these things from your dad's side! Smile

IBelieveInPink · 28/09/2012 09:07

Erm, pain free labour?! How do I get me one of those?! :)

Jojoba1986 · 28/09/2012 09:35

Sorry Ponk not a clue! My granny didn't even know it was supposed to hurt & I don't think my aunt has forgiven her for not warning her that it would!
I think making sure that you feel in control & able trust your body to do it's job is supposed to help! Knowledge is power - read about everything - I made a little book of what my logical head would want to happen in some potential scenarios & made sure DH had it just in case I wasn't in a fit state to make a decision! I certainly felt very sure that my body knew what it was doing more than the midwife did! Confused

There's a book by Ina May Gaskin that took me from 'I'll be in a hosp demanding attention every 5 secs' to 'I can do this without anyone anywhere near me. I am woman, hear me roar!' Definitely worth a read! Some of it is a little on the hippy-ish side for me, but then she does live on a commune & her husband used to have several other wives as well!

kittykatskumkwat · 28/09/2012 09:56

Pink- it's called an epidural Wink
Frus how have you found your pregnancys?
Any similarities between 2 dd?

FrustratedSycamorePants · 28/09/2012 11:43

Dd1 I had huge food aversions. Ms and acid reflux until after 12wks, felt kicks, etc. very straight forward pg. Went 2 weeks late, contractions started at 5mins apart, didnt dilate properly as dd move on way I hosp. Had all the drugs going inc epidural.

Dd2 Cravings rather than aversions. ms. No kicking. Acid reflux most of pg. 1 wk early, easy birth with tens machine.

I guess the only real similarities were ms at the same time of day, and I'm evil and bitchy hormonal throughout entire pregnancy.

Anyone else feel like every time they open their mouth all that comes out is 'pregnant, pregnant, pregnant'? I'm so paranoid that I'm going to let it slip! I keep repeatedly checking any texts/emails/messages I write to make sure I've not said anything! I didn't even really want to see my friends yesterday because I was worried I'd empathise with pregnant people in the present tense or otherwise say something! How am I going to last the next 8 weeks?!

peardrop2 · 28/09/2012 13:15

Hi ladies! Had to wait 1hr in the waiting room for the scan...felt forever. Everything is fine. She gave me an internal (had to empty bladder twice) and we saw and heard a very loud heartbeat! She's dates me 6+3 so I'm now due on 21sf May...one day further along then I thought woop woop! I told her about the pains on my right and she checked my ovaries. She found a tiny bruise containing blood sitting on top of my ovary. It's absolutely normal...she told me this 6x because she saw the look of horror on my face!! Apparently it will go away by itself in time and the blood will be absorbed. I'm so happy I know what the pain is now and baby p is snug, warm and beating away! My 12 scan is booked in for Nov 7th.

FrustratedSycamorePants · 28/09/2012 13:23

Ooh pear glad youve had reassurance about the pains. Very Envy of scan and heartbeat.

Jojoba1986 · 28/09/2012 13:52

Eek! That's so exciting! I forgot how early the heart starts beating! Nearly makes me cry just thinking about it! Ridiculous emotions

So glad everything's looking good! Hope that bruising heals up quickly! Smile

kittykatskumkwat · 28/09/2012 14:02

So pleased for you pear, now you stop the no symptoms debacle and can smugly tell your mum no I don't suffer with it Grin
Why did you have an early scan again?

peardrop2 · 28/09/2012 14:11

kitty this was my third early scan. I've seen it at 2-3 weeks, 4weeks and 6 weeks now. At 2-3 weeks they thought it was ectopic and I had to spend the night in hospital which was horrible and would not wish that kn anyone ever! I'm very happy to finally have an answer for the pains!

kittykatskumkwat · 28/09/2012 14:15

How awful, I'm glad it's worked out all right for you Smile

Thundercatsarego · 28/09/2012 14:21

Amazing, pear, really pleased for you x

peardrop2 · 28/09/2012 15:56

Thanks ladies xx

fashionvictim · 28/09/2012 16:05

Ruddy spiffy news Pear !!
I was getting a little worried about not having many symptoms too - I'm literally asleep on my feet all day and the boobs are sore, but that's it, no ms or nausea - yet !! I'm sure it will start soon...

jojoba I know what you mean! I'm the same. But then I also want to stand up at my desk and scream ''Stop emailing me, I AM PREGNANT and way too tired for this unimportant bllcks !!!''

So glad it's Friday Grin

IBelieveInPink · 28/09/2012 20:01

Aw pear that's great news! Yays!

Frust, Id also like a few more, but as I said will regret saying that! My boobs seem to have grown a bit, (DH is most excited) but that's about it at the moment. Ah well, still early days I guess.

Jojoba we have caved and told a few people. Just a few close friends who we would need support from should anything go bad. But I know what you mean, girls at work earlier asked if there was any particular reason I had cravings for sweets- not sure why as I always do! Think I covered well enough! :s

IBelieveInPink · 28/09/2012 20:01

Sorry, meant fashion not frust :)

bringonthetrumpets · 28/09/2012 22:34

Hi ladies, can I join? I've been lurking a bit and just got a bfp this morning! Still in complete shock as it's the first month we've started trying and af isn't due for another 3 days. Trying to remain positive and confident that it's not just a fluke and that there's really a babe in there! This will be baby #3 for us. Due 10 June.

FrustratedSycamorePants · 29/09/2012 07:29

Hi bring time will really drag. Welcome aboard.

Grin thanks ponk [wanted emoticon]

How is everyone feeling today?

OP posts:
Thundercatsarego · 29/09/2012 09:04

Morning all, welcome bring.

I'm feeling a bit rubbish at the mo, kind of just groggy and a bit headachey. Hoping it will pass soon. Going to have a coffee to see if it helps. A KK would go very well with that I believe, never having tried one before

How are you, frus?

Jojoba1986 · 29/09/2012 09:15

Morning!

I'm feeling irrationally grumpy today! DH was rustling around in the bedroom at 8 & then went & clonked around downstairs v loudly & then called up the stairs a few times! All of this had the result of waking DS up & then DH went out shopping so I don't have to! I was sooooo annoyed with him for waking the baby & then leaving me to deal with him that it didn't really occur to me that he must have gone out without any breakfast because I insisted on using the last of the milk for a hot chocolate last night! I feel like I should apologise now even though he has no idea how cross I was! Completely ignored DS so he's gone back to sleep anyway!

Jojoba1986 · 29/09/2012 09:20

Aaaand now I feel even more guilty! All this talk of KKs made me text him & ask for doughnuts but he only got it after he left the shop so he's gone back in for them! He's wonderful! & I'm the worst person on the planet!

bringonthetrumpets · 29/09/2012 11:00

Thank you for the warm welcome Smile.

So exhausted atm. I'm a student midwife in the States and I've been at this homebirth through the night and now into the morning. I just want to go home, go to bed, and enjoy my first full day of knowing about being pregnant! Waaaa.

Hope everyone else is having a good day!
