skinny I want to leave it as late as possible to meet midwife - so won't book in until 9/10 weeks.

ella0 · 02/10/2012 17:47

Hello,

Can I join in please?

Just got my BFP yesterday on day 28 so it's early days.

This was our third cycle of ttc, but I never thought I'd be able to have children as my husband didn't want children for years and only changed his mind this summer (I'm 32)!

My husband has made me take four tests (two yesterday morning, one yesterday evening and another this morning!) from different brands as he can't quite believe it.

ella0 · 02/10/2012 17:51

Oh, I forgot to add that I think I'm due on 11/06/12 (according to a book I have), and this will be my first child.

FrustratedSycamorePants · 02/10/2012 19:54

Hi ella I noticed you had a bfp on October Fred. Congratulations am welcome aboard. Grin

ella0 · 02/10/2012 21:47

Thank you frustrated.

FrustratedSycamorePants · 02/10/2012 22:08

How are you feeling ella? Has it sunk in yet? Grin

princesschick · 03/10/2012 09:18

Morning all, I got my BFP last night at long last. Period was uncharacteristically late, so we did the test and it was positive. I'm still Shock I'm due 09/06/2012. This was our 24th cycle of trying and I've had 2 MCs (in June '09 and May '11) both at 6wks2days. So, as you can imagine, I'm pretty nervous and excited all at the same time right now. I didn't really sleep last night because of the excitement and being scared too. Anyway, big waves hello and hope you are all well this morning :)

CollectorOfCookbooks · 03/10/2012 11:16

Congratulations, Princess and Ella!

I don't know about any of you but I found myself looking at babygro's yesterday and thinking 'there's something the size of a pin inside me which is going to fit in that in 8 months' which freaked me out a little.

Main symptom for me at the moment is waking up stupidly early (4am, hello??!) and then feeling sick for a couple of hours. But it's way too early for that, I'm not sure if it's psychomatic!Think I'm going to call the docs at about 6 weeks if I get that far. I've swopped my vitamins to morning, thanks for the tip Dreamy!

Somehow it's not quite real. I don't think we'll get a private scan, unless I start panicking and decide I need one to prove there's something in there other than cake!

CollectorOfCookbooks · 03/10/2012 11:18

PS has anyone else found they've lost weight since finding out?? I don't know whether it's through being scared or eating really healthily but 3lbs have come off - I'm a bit on the heavy side anyway (size 16) so a few pounds off before I have to be weighed at the midwife is probably all to the good!

princesschick · 03/10/2012 11:49

Collector and congrats to you too :) I've contacted my nutritionist this morning to ask about supplements but I think I'll be sticking with my Pre-Natal Packs and fish oils (I take 9 tablets a day on her recommendations!) I too woke up at 3.30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep - think that that's nerves, worry and excitement. I did the Zita West 'Relaxation for Pregnancy' mp3 this morning. Only symptoms here are : a little bit hungrier, needing to pee all the time, achy backache and no period!

I'm thinking about an early doors progesterone test but only because mine was borderline ok when I had the 7DPO test done and I know that it's relatively easy to supplement progesterone. I'm not sure about an early scan, esp with my history of miscarriage.

Big waves to you all! :)

DontmindifIdo · 03/10/2012 13:10

hello all, got my BFP this morning, mind if I join in?

Feels a bit odd right now, I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks at the start of July and I really really wasn't expecting to get pregnant again this soon, we were talking about trying after Christmas... Also haven't been taking follic acid or any vitimins, need to start that today!

Are we doing stats? I'm due 13th June (have checked, it's a Thursday not a Friday, no need to panic), am 33 and living in SE. Have 1 DC already (2.5 year old DS).

I think we will go for a private scan, it's £95 and after losing the last one, I don't think I'm going to be happy until I've seen this one is ok. While I actually MC at 11 weeks, they think the baby stopped developing at 6-7 weeks, so a scan at 8weeks would be good to keep me sane.

Collector - I didn't get morning sickness last time and nothing so far, so I gained a lot of weight in the first few months. This time round I'm not going to treat it as an excuse to eat crap. If you are losing weight without throwing up, then you're probably just making really good food choices.

preggersbycheggers · 03/10/2012 14:18

6 week tomorrow. 6 weeks to go till scan! Arrrggghhh... seems a long way away!

Hello to everyone waving their BFP sticks at me!!

I am sooooo hungry, waking early, slightly nauseous AND my belly has popped out. I had heard that with your second it happens but 6 weeks??? Come on???? My friend guessed I was pregnant! How long can I stay in my size 10 skinny jeans for??? I can't face 7 months of over the bump jean wearing!!!!

Hope everyone is well.

Skinnydecafflatte · 03/10/2012 17:09

Congrats to the newest recruits!
Preggers - very jealous of you being 6 weeks already, at 4 +4 it seems such a long way away. Btw I don't think my stomach ever recovered from ds1 so if mine were to pop out I wouldnt notice Smile
Hope everyone is feeling ok and looking forward to welcoming more new recruits x x

Jojoba1986 · 03/10/2012 17:18

Skinny I know the feeling! I'm 4+5 & I'd give anything to be halfway to my scan! Can't believe it was only a week ago today that I got my BFP! Seems like forever!
Btw, did you specifically choose your name so people would shorten it & give you an ego boost? Wink I'm seriously considering changing mine to 'nicebum'! Grin

FrustratedSycamorePants · 03/10/2012 17:25

preggers definately shows a lot earlier with 2nd. i'm on number 3. At 5+2 my stomach muscles have gone flump. An I'm sure my back has done that arching thing already. An wearing conveniently styled tunic tops, but not sure how much longer I've got.
preggers you need some under bump ones like these

Skinnydecafflatte · 03/10/2012 17:32

[Grin] at jojoba, no I didn't on purpose, its was what I drank since being pregnant the first time. It's very nice to be called skinny though as its been a loooong time since I have been called that. I know by the end of this pregnancy (fingers crossed) I will be more like a weeble!

Skinnydecafflatte · 03/10/2012 17:34

Hmmm. And by the end perhaps i'll be able to do smileys too!

Jojoba1986 · 03/10/2012 17:40

Heehee! I shall start calling you Weebs then! Grin

FrustratedSycamorePants · 03/10/2012 17:46

Ooh weebs and bum Grin

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 03/10/2012 18:04

Hi everyone, welcome to the "new" ones and congratulations! I'm 5+2 today, have booked a private scan for 7+1 hoping to hear a heartbeat and therefore relax a bit. As for symptoms, I'm thinking of having salmon and steak for dinner so surely some rewiring is happening somewhere!!!

ella0 · 03/10/2012 18:04

frustrated I'm feeling very happy and excited but also quite worried as I know it's early days.

Congratulations princess and don't mind!

Collector Thanks - congratulations to you too! I have been waking up early and haven't been able to get back to sleep but wasn't sure if that was a symptom or the excitement!

My main symptom is a crampy feeling every now and again, my nipples have changed (they're darker around the edges) and no period.

I think a private scan would put my mind at rest. I'm feeling the need to do the clear blue digis with weeks that come up every week just to see them go up.

AnotherCerealNameChanger · 03/10/2012 18:36

waves congratulations and hello

Is anyone else thinking of staying quiet as long as possible? I will probably have extra scans and tests and I really want to aim to tell after the twenty week scan. I think you have to tell your employer by 26 weeks don't you?

Skinnydecafflatte · 03/10/2012 18:50

Grin I like weebs!

In answer to your question cereal, I think I will be telling shortly after 12 week scan if all well. We have an event in December at work which would involve long hours and lots of lifting and carrying so I will have to let them know so they don't think I'm just not pulling my weight! I may just be sleeping in a corner anyway...

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 03/10/2012 19:08

I've already told a few people and I'm only about 4 weeks pg lol I can't keep these things to myself! The way I see it is, if there was a problem and the worst was to happen (god forbid) I'd want those people to know and support me anyway. I reckon we'll tell everybody else at Christmas.

Jojoba1986 · 03/10/2012 19:26

Oh hush Pants! Grin

I'm hoping to keep it quiet until Christmas time when we'll get DS to give my mum a Christmas card with a scan pic inside! The rate we're going it'll be a very early Christmas card with a note from Lickle Pickle inside, probably delivered before November! Blush We're not good at lying if people ask us directly... Which they do. A lot! Hmm
