I've spent more money sat on my arse in bed today than I would have being free to roam the shops! Bloody ebay!

NattyCraig · 17/09/2012 15:59

ShellyBobbs I am the same with ebay... Sell stuff but then buy way more than I make selling... Doh!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 17/09/2012 16:08

Me too - had a wave of selling recently but all the proceeds have mysteriously disappeared!

ShellyBobbs · 17/09/2012 16:17

I listed about 20 things the other week, didn't sell any of them and thought 'oh well, my card's registered on paypal'. Shock

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/09/2012 16:29

bluetinkerbell I'd do the party for the actual day, I think people are likely to be around more during the week and less likely to forget but make sure you get your invites out a few weeks in advance!

MissMummy1 · 17/09/2012 16:33

Shelly that sounds like an amazing trip - ignoring the slight car disaster midway through! DH drove one of his landrovers across Africa and is desperate to do another massive road trip with Junior when they're old enough to appreciate it.

My peugeot was a cheap experimental car we bought with the intention of keeping it for 3 months, running it on cooking oil 'to see if it worked', then trading in for a new one during the scrappage scheme. I kept it for 2 years and cried when it died in April Blush. I had it for my last 2 years of uni and it was my first car that wasn't my mum or dads. (They both hated it). Whenever anything went wrong in it (which was quite often for a 13 year old car with biblical mileage, run on all manner of fuels and with me as a driver) DH was able to fix it. My Norwegian flatmate adored the car too and was gutted when it died as he wanted to buy it and import it back to Norway with him!! Like you with your mondeo, I would have another one in a heartbeat!

Lol, I'm not normally this tragic. Looking at cars today has brought back loads of memories of the day it blew up and my frantic search to buy a new one the same day so I could finish my last uni placement. I actually have no interest in cars at all and if we lived somewhere we didn't need one, I'd happily get rid of mine altogether.

MissMummy1 · 17/09/2012 16:38

Oh, and don't even get me started about eBay. I spend a small fortune on it. As does DH - between the two of us I never know what will be delivered each day! Really must start selling things on it too...

YellowWellies · 17/09/2012 16:40

Anyone considering a slumber bear (I am) what about Dex womb sound bears? You have to import them from the US but here's a linky: www.overstock.com/Baby/Dex-Womb-Sounds-Bear/5408733/product.html the sounds last 40 minutes rather than the auto cut off after 5 mins you get with the Slumber bear. I don't think though that the sound can be triggered by baby's movements or noises though. Grr why doesn't someone make one that can do both? 5 minutes sounds far too short a time for baby to soothe to me and I'd not want to be dashing into the room to make it make a noise.... hmmm confused. It's going on the list for next month I reckon hopefully I'll make my mind up by then.

Scan went well. 33+4 but measuring 35-37. Big fat tummy, like his parents, so on 95th percentile. Good amounts of fluid, good blood flow. Everything seems good, just big. No suprise there. 6lb3oz already, but could be 15% either way. No wonder I feel so uncomfortable. I reckon he will be a scratch under 11lb and have lots of black hair.

Section booked for 25th October at 39 weeks on the nose. Very relieved. Need to be there at 8.30am which should be interesting. Need to get Grandparents to take us as DH cannot drive yet, and also need to get kids to school and nursery.

My boss emailed to say he found my package, and thanked me for my patience. Fecking idiot Grin

DonnaDoon · 17/09/2012 17:19

VQ love that you know baby birthday but a bit worried that at my scan last week they guessed 4lbs 3oz and Im due the same day as you ....I want a big bruiser too

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/09/2012 17:20

Glad scan went well and woo! for cs date. 6lb already!! I know weight isn't massively accurate at scans but that's a biggun already!

My scan today reckons baby is 3lb 15ish and I'm 31 weeks so not bad.

ShellyBobbs · 17/09/2012 17:21

VQ Fantastic news, and the date you wanted! Wow, I was reading up on the old 33 weeks today and they were saying in the region of 4.5lbs, my girls were only 6lb 8oz full term, you've got a nice healthy one there Valium Grin As for your boss, what a knobsack Grin.

Womb bear out of stock [sulks]. Probably just as well after todays spending though, don't think hubby would buy the old 'but YellowWellies said it was good'.

TheDetective · 17/09/2012 17:22

Oh. My. God.

I just died of embarrassment.

Second hynobirthing session. Last week was just a discussion. This week a joint session of relaxation.

Seems someone got a little too relaxed Hmm. DP actually fell asleep within a couple of minutes and what is even worse, fucking SNORED his way through the 20 minute session. I knew he was asleep because I could hear his breathing getting heavier, and him sliding down the wall Hmm then the snoring kicked in.

I couldn't relax, just felt embarrassed and annoyed in equal measure. Waste of time :(

I know he couldn't help it, but I still think he's a twat for it....

Hmpf.

ShellyBobbs · 17/09/2012 17:24

VQ (comes back from checking calendar) 5 weeks and 3 days you lucky sod, I'm so jealous!

ShellyBobbs · 17/09/2012 17:25

Detective LOL Grin Sorry but it is funny!

TheDetective · 17/09/2012 17:28

It would be if it was someone else!!!

Just glad I'm not paying £200+ for the course!

Still think twat though........

Titsalinabumsquash · 17/09/2012 17:30

Afternoon ladies :)

So very jealous of those that know their babies birthdays already, and in Oct not Nov! Smile < Envy >

I'm having a sleepy day, I've had to set alarms all over the house to wake me from my many naps. Grin

I have horrible sores all around my mouth for some reason but apart from that I feel pretty ok today.
Kids and DP have made do with a "freezer" dinner, kids had Chicken dippers, oven chips and peas and sweetcorn, DPis having some Salmon and rice frozen meal. I'll grab an omelette in a while.
We have zilch in the way of food, just waiting to find out when I can do the shopping, we're having a tight week money wise.

I've seen 2 people today that I've not seen during the pregnancy and both did a real Shock at the size of my belly and even more do at my ample bosom, I refuse to buy anymore clothes now so my tops are going to have to strain at the buttons for another few weeks I'm afraid.

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/09/2012 17:33

Lol detective I would've kicked dh rather hard if he had done that!

TheDetective · 17/09/2012 17:34

He was the opposite side of the room, and my foot wouldn't reach far enough!!!

ShellyBobbs · 17/09/2012 17:38

Detective I was OK until you said he started sliding down the wall (snoring) :)

TheDetective · 17/09/2012 17:41

He was sat on a beanbag, leaning against the wall...! He actually slid off the beanbag, and on to the floor Hmm

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 17:55

Babies weights vary so much, and the guesstimates are so inaccurate, but it meant the consultant was more than happy to sign off on the section. They are gonna sterilise me too at the same time. Gulp.

We cannot really be having any more considering I am 43, and it is what we discussed, but now I feel a little sad. She said I can change my mind at any point, and she will ask me at the birth if I am still sure. We cannot afford any more! We both always wanted three, and never dreamed we would be so lucky to get three. It would be different if I were 26 years old...

horseylady · 17/09/2012 18:05

Vq wow huge step!!! Will that impact on recovery/bf options etc?

Detective - oh dear re falling asleep!!!

I can not digest the pizza. It's just sitting there :( I was nearly sick in sainsburies petrol station:( not good!! I only had 4 slices!!!!

May not bother with tea after yoga :(

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 18:11

horsey it takes less than five minutes, and does not impact on recovery or anything. It is just snipping the Fallopian tubes and tying them off. They do not remove anything. I am 43, which is pretty old for this baby making game. I am not like you young fillies!

TheDetective · 17/09/2012 18:24

VQ Recovery is a little more uncomfortable, from my experience. Ladies who have had a TL generally seem to get a higher level of discomfort following c/s than those who don't.

Don't let it put you off if it is what you want though, as it is MUCH better than going through a second op.
