When I say my experience, I don't mean my own personal experience, but just that of the ladies I have looked after!

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 18:46

Clearly detective unless your name is Mary and you are carrying the Messiah! Thank you for that, I did not know that. I think it is much better than having a second op, which is why I want it now.

Titsalinabumsquash · 17/09/2012 18:51

Gosh, big decision! I remember this time last year sobbing in my GP's office that I wanted a hysterectomy, I'm only 25 but had been told that I couldn't have more children because I had endometriosis badly, the pain and bleeding was making life unbearable. I am glad they said no though! Huge shock to fall pregnant but very happy I did. Smile

TheDetective · 17/09/2012 18:58

That made me giggle VQ! A much needed giggle!

Baby is still breech, and has been all week. I did some belly mapping, and it just confirms what I know I can feel.

If baby is still breech next week, I'm going to start the spinning babies techniques. Although, with what I am feeling right now, the baby may actually be in the process of turning!!!

DP inflated the birthing ball for me, so after a bounce on it, and scaring the dog with it, I am now sat on the sofa, with my feet up on it, so feet are elevated above the rest of me. Baby has got a right wriggle on, and is actively attacking my pelvic floor with gusto Hmm.

Maybe I just needed to optimise my positioning to get the bugger to turn!

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 19:22

But at 43 with 3 kids is it a big decision? I do not want to be on the pill, or have a coil or implant etc, and DH has such a huge manhood no condom will stay on plus he is worried if he has the snip his balls will fall off and his willie will cease to work. Perhaps asking this question of heavily pregnant women is not the best idea Grin I tried the femidom once, but literally pissed myself with all the laughing. This baby was a bit of an accident, so not sure we can be trusted, and with triplets in the family...

eversomuch · 17/09/2012 19:24

Goodness these threads move quickly already six pages in! and I am a snail these days! Moving house in less than two weeks and soooo much to do to prepare. Feeling a little guilty that DD isn't getting as much outside playtime as she should because I'm trying to get as much packing done as I can each day.

Great news on your scan and ELCS date, VQ. But wow, that is soon! Still hard to believe that it's just a matter of a few weeks before our LOs still making their appearances. You also have me thinking now about the option of having my tubes tied if I end up with an ELCS, as I am expecting to. Just hit 40 myself and am happy to stop at two don't really feel like going through this again, although I mostly enjoy the pregnancy experience. Will have to think about it and perhaps have a chat with the consultant when we have our appointment in two weeks. Must also look into how foolproof it is do you know the statistics by any chance?

jaylee89 · 17/09/2012 19:26

could cry today ladies woke up this morning with a horrible burning feeling in my throat, had my usual daily bout of morning sickness (yes i am still sick in the mornings only once thou lol) and it was gone, but this afternoon about half 1..........it feels like i have a camp fire in my throat and feel like im going to be sick. anyone else get this or know what it is? its ruining my day!

also had a right nest today. absolutly gutted the living room and cleaned it top to bottom striped my whole sofa (and i mean whole sofa) and washed the lot cleaned all floors and carpets. the sofa i washed which smelt lovely i emptied a whole bottle of febreeze on it aswel. OTT much??

tomorrow is bedroom, cupboards and everything else is getting tackled.......cant wait. Grin

hope you are all good and god we chin wag a hell of alot!....

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 19:39

everso if you have it done during a section the success rate (I.e. no more babies) is 99%, but if you have it as a stand alone procedure, it is 99.5%. Slightly less successful alongside a section, reasons unclear, but still good stats IMO. I will be having the cut and tie, not clips. Swelling may be why it is less successful.

rowingdowntheriver · 17/09/2012 20:03

I'm booked in for a c-section on the 22nd Oct. Eek!! Seems very soon!

Am yet to decide whether I go through with it as the consultant said it is my choice and not really necessary as this big looks to be only slightly bigger than average (last one was 10lb 3oz).

Someone up thread mentioned some threads that talk about the pro's and con's of ELCS, where would I find these?

kissyfur · 17/09/2012 20:26

Good news on the section dates VQ and Rowing those dates don't seem far off at all!

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 20:28

rowing sorry I cannot link, but if you look in the childbirth or pregnancy section or do a general search. ELCS stories are so very different to EMCS. You could start your own thread obviously. There is one at the moment where a lady is trying to decide whether to have a section due to a large baby.

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 20:29

Not far away at all. DH is looking a bit terrified at the prospect. I am just glad to have a date to work to.

horseylady · 17/09/2012 20:47

Vq I do think it's a big decision, regardless of age. However, it's one you've thought about and decided is correct for you!! Big decision doesn't mean wrong, big decision is just life changing none reversable type decision!! Your baby is a good size though!!!

Yoga was fun, I did laugh once, pretending to be a cat, however I managed to stop laughing before it became bad laughing!! Baby happily wriggling again as he was throughout the class apart from the sleeping bit time!!! He was quiet then!!!

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 21:09

blue thank you for the nappy link, but at the moment I am feeding my obsession with eBay cheapies. Recently bought a cow print and today ordered a giraffe print.

horsey you are right. It is a major decision, and I am sure, but just had a bit of a wobble. I think I expected the consultant to say 'of course you should, you are too old to be having this one, let alone any more'

kirrinIsland · 17/09/2012 21:09

Blimey - October due dates, that's not long at all!

I can hardly keep up with this thread, it moves so fast, so I'm just going to go back and have a catch up.....

ShellyBobbs · 17/09/2012 21:13

Jaylee That's heartburn / acid reflux, I wake in the night with it. Swig some Gaviscon and hopefully it will be right as rain :)

Oh VQ what a horrible decision. My mum had 3 kids at 43, at 44 she had 4 Grin was very lucky to have a singleton at that age (she had the 3rd at 42), my step dad had the chop soon after.

My hubby was going to get the chop years ago, I hated the idea but he said he didn't want more than 3 so for me that was fair enough, I'd squeezed 1 more out of him than he originally wanted. Luckily all 3 times he tried to get one something happened, a letter had the wrong date on it so when he got there he had missed it, another we got to the hospital and the surgeon hadn't turned up and I can't remember the other one. Thanks goodness, because now I've got this wee one wriggling about inside me Grin. His mum said she'll do it with 2 bricks if he's not had it done for Christmas, I've told him not to be so hasty!
If I lived in a bigger house I'd make sure that number 5 would be here for xmas 2013!

ShellyBobbs · 17/09/2012 21:15

And hubby is the most excited out of all 5 of us and can't wait for this new arrival.

ShellyBobbs · 17/09/2012 21:24

*horrible decision to have to make (tuts at self for stupid missing words)

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 21:27

shelly 'the chop' sounds a bit brutal! Anyway, thanks for that post. I am now feeling sodding broody again

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 21:27

Seater even. Sodding iPad.

ValiumQueen · 17/09/2012 21:28

Aah. Missing words make a bit more sense Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 17/09/2012 21:29

Hi there,I can't believe the whole other thread disappeared while I was broadband less. We have it back now it to sure the speed is up to much.

I have had a quick run though the previous thread. What was the end consensus for perennial massage? I did it with number two and had a cut but wasn't too bad, didn't. Other for number three had a heinous cut but that could have been more to do with the forceps. I was going to give it a go again this time.

Bit emotional today, for no particular reason.

ShellyBobbs · 17/09/2012 21:40

When hubby wanted to get himself done, I actually felt like grieving! I knew we were so lucky to have 3 beautiful children, but it's all so final and once it's done the choice is taken away. I know what's going to happen once this little one is born, he's going to go running to the doctors the day after the birth to get an appointment and I just don't want him to, but really, that would be so selfish of me because there is absolutely NO WAY we can have any more unless we win the lottery.

At 35 I had a massive panic over whether we should have another one, I thought we should, hubby kept changing his mind, luckily that decision was taken out of our hands only 2 years into the conversation and we couldn't be happier!

Ultimately we have to make decisions that benefits everyone, our will be that this is the last one :( but thankfully I can still come on here and moan about it without anyone in RL knowing about it.

horseylady · 17/09/2012 21:48

Wow!!! I truely can not comprehend anything after this pregnancy!! It took so long to get this one, I don't know if number two would be possible?! I guess two would be nice, but will see!!

I think I decided I would massage mainly because if it works fab, if not well I've not really lost anything.

ShellyBobbs · 17/09/2012 21:58

I don't mean to sound blase about having children, I am extremely lucky to be able to conceive without any problems and I am eternally grateful for them all :)
